If you have more than 5 pets, you're actively using a perk of the GA (+5 pet slots). This gives you an additional slot (so if you havent' redeemed any before, for 6 six total). If you have a GA that makes your total 11 pets.

As long as you did at least one quest you'll be counted as participating and get the reward at the end (aka forum title + pet slot)!
