: Thanks for posting this list! If I counted right, you got six stat boosters in two weeks (not counting the book as a stat booster). That beats the heck out of my rate of four in three weeks (my list is on page 6).

Yeah, I feel like my luck has been nerfed not only with shinwa, but with quentin (I feel blessed if I get 2/10 mage amulets and that's a good day) and subQ invites. :C

Now try turning them into the Mage. My luck with him has been absolutely awful.

I definitely feel as though the odds have been changed with shinwa, but I guess that's not the case.

My luck is still terrible, I can open an own shop for Shinwa Backpacks and even though I had a GA active until a couple of hours ago Quentin didn't bother to give me an Amulet for three days straight.

That 2 weeks was only after I was told the staff had said that Shinwa hadnt been messed with after her revamp, but I had kept track of Shinwa quests for days before the 17th ( cant find the notepad tho :/ ) and before the 17th, I remember 1 booster since revamp - til the 17th.

Some say: You only remember when you dont get a booster, but seeing how some of us keep track... I think we know when we do and when we dont, get a booster. ;)

So am I... I'm getting basically the same amount than you. 1/6 or 1/7. I really think this was lowered, because my rate before the change (when she used to give only 1 item) was at least 1/4

It's been thirty days since a staff member officially stated in the thread that the drop rate for boosters has not been changed, and since another member accused my perception of being faulty.

I've kept track these thirty days of Shinwa's drops, and have experienced a booster rate of one out of six 16.6%). I'll spare the statistics lesson, but after thirty trials, the standard deviation is about 6.8%, which means the actual booster rate is almost certainly less than one out of four.

If we take Cranberry's word that the booster rate has not changed, that would mean that back when Shinwa occasionally dropped two items a day, the probability of getting a booster on any given day would be about 31%, give or take a few percentage points. Or, two out of every three days, a player would leave Shinwa with only consolation prizes.

I'm certain that I had been receiving boosters at a higher rate than one out of three before. Admittedly, I didn't keep detailed records before the nerfing (I would have if I had known this was coming!) But for Andrew's theory that my memory is faulty to hold up, then the memories of at least eight other contributors to this thread would have to be faulty in the exact same way. I reject the suggestion that I'm a victim of a shared delusion. (My delusions are mine alone! ;) )

edit: Sixty days now, and vastly different results. Where I had gotten only five boosters during the first 30 days, I got 14 during the second 30 days. I'm conjecturing that there is more tweaking going on and that this wasn't just happenstance:

Using Fisher's Exact Test to address the question: "Given that 5 of the first 30 samples and 14 of the second 30 samples were successful, what is the probability that the chance of receiving a booster was unchanged during the 30-day period?", we get that the probability is C(19,5)C(41,25)/C(60,30) -- where C(a,b) is the binomial coefficient a!/(b! (a-b)!). This calculates to a 1.013% chance that they haven't fiddled with the probabilities, or conversely, a 98.987% chance that they have, but haven't told us.

I haven't had a double drop since the revamp either. Just as a point. I thought I was the only one, but then I found this thread.

I'm still getting boosters from doing Shinwa. As often as before, no, because there are no more double drops. I haven't kept strict count but feel like I get at least two a week, maybe three. When Shinwa was doing double drops then the rate was definitely higher. You had a pretty good chance at a double drop and that item was always a booster.

The current rate of items seems about what I remember from before Shinwa did double drops but I never kept track and it was years ago.

You're getting a lot more than I am (and I am keeping strict count). Two a week is a rate of 2/7 = 28.57%; I've been getting 19% over the past five weeks. I've had entire weeks go by when I didn't get any.

Rumor has it, Shinwa is less generous to people who complain.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was. I left for a few months (after the restock "fix"), came back and EVERYTHING seems to have been nerfed. Quests in general seem to give out nothing but crap now. Ridiculous.

See, 3/7 or even 2/7 isn't a bad rate though. You are getting free stats for basically doing nothing. I think the rate is the same as it was years ago before the double items came out. That feature lasted far too long in my opinion and spoiled us by giving out so many boosters.

How are quests horrible though? Everyday I make 1.7mil+ easily in just sp alone not counting the 150+ items. Even if all those items only sell for 5k sp, that's still an extra 750k in my pocket and usually some items are worth far far more then that. I mean, what more are you wanting? We can't give everyone rare items for every quest or they would be worth nothing.
