Item Hunt changes were because Swashbuckle was getting much too cheap considering it's a godly! It was to the point where it almost cost less to just buy it from usershops than to complete Item Hunt, which was never the intention.

people were never intended to be able to complete item hunt more than once and win multiple swashbuckles.
but it's not a problem that people are finishing item hunt. it's a problem that people were finishing item hunt multiple times.

Yeah, as far as reflection prizes go some of them from the hard level have only like 30~ on site and we've had this revamp out over 6 months SO THAT'S PRETTY SAD. I'd like people to not give up on the game, you know?
@Nonchalant It was never really intended to be a game you could restart a bunch. @Karen Grace already said that wasn’t the issue We’re changing the description today! It’ll be more clear and also deal with Chase (I think that’s how Amy decided to get Chase out)! Also yes, def looking at the Crypts too because I think in the past like 5 days only 3 prizes have been bought from the shop :X We are working on getting him out as a challenger for those who didn’t get him :)
As many of you have said, it's been much too easy to make a profit off IH lately, so that's a bad thing if it's injecting that much sP into the economy. Now we've changed it to work the way it was supposed to all along. We're turning off an sP fountain instead of creating a new sP sink, but it's the same idea... any things like this that we do will make your sP more valuable.
We're not punishing anyone. We're repairing a game that was not working properly.
Nice! Now if people start winning it more, I don’t feel bad adding more prizes :X That’s something I can look into! Item Hunt and Caliph’s Tomb are two different things you are comparing, though. One is a challenge that takes 20 days (if you are able to do every level) and one is a recreational game The tome wasn’t really meant to have people restart after beating it, though. That was an item that if you lost on level 92 you could use it to at least get you back to 50 so you didn’t have to completely start over (because that sucks) @Nonchalant Nope, before the book you couldn’t restart. The only way to restart was if you lost and you got hit down to 1. Using the one bumped you back to 50 (example being you lost at 96, you could use the book to put you to 50 so you didn’t have to wait too long to get back up there). Grace literally said that isn’t the issue
oh no, i'm not going to add new things to it right away DON'T WORRY. I just don't feel bad now requesting more prizes from artists for it. I'm going to try to get some items for other games first tho.
@LuckBurnside It was never intended for you to be able to restart the game after 100. To get Chase, you had to lose after 75. The Tome was to make it less of a blow. I honestly wasn’t even aware people were doing this until a UA brought it to my attention and asked me to put a note on the front page of the game about the tome. That’s when I talked with the BAs and they told me about the price of the godly. There has clearly been a miscommunication here over the years, but the point is still the tome was never intended to be used that way and the game was never meant to be able to reset after 100 (or we would’ve just … given you that option on the page to begin with?).
As far as making Chase a Challenger, we're still discussing it as a staff. We like the idea posted of just making the tome readable. One of the suggestions floating around via staff is just like bribing Chase to fight via Item Hunt main page.
The miscommunication here is from me - we changed our minds. This method was being used a few years ago by a few people, and now it's pretty widespread and not the way we intended. We also intended the final prize to be worth a certain amount of sP, and that hasn't been the case. Item hunt also isn't one a quest we really ever wanted to be about the sP prizes, but about the item prizes which have been devalued because they can be earned so many times.
Thanks for the feedback, but we changed our minds on how IH works.
