Padget fiddled with her jacket zipper as she stood by the door, her shoulder pressed up against the frame. She watched the fish swim in a tiny circle in it's baggy with a grin. "Smoothies are good, though I am a much bigger fan of milkshakes. She waved her fingers as the fish as they went out into the hall. Pulling on the door to make sure it was locked, she turned towards the stairwell.

"Mornings are whatever, I guess. I only have a couple really early ones this semester. But as long as I get my hour for lunch I'll take all the morning classes I have to."

Out on the street she bounced on her toes, her sneakers scuffing on the pavement. "Which way? I haven't really done this whole, grocery shopping thing before." She looked back at the dorm building and frowned. "Do we have a communal kitchen in there? Or are we subjugated to whatever we can nuke in the microwave?" She smiled. "Or whatever the dining hall decides to make for the day."

Yes, hello. Excuse me friends.

"Milkshakes are also great. But I can't have a milkshake every day or I'd get supa-fat." She chuckled at herself. Willoe was not exactly what you'd call a health nut, however she was young and still riding the wave of youth that allowed her to eat whatever she wanted and still burn the calories. She'd miss those days eventually.

"How many classes are you taking? I've just got the 4 core and a 1 credit online class." She followed Padget down the stairs and out the door, just now realizing she'd never moved her bike from the housing office. She had begun to turn towards it when Padget caught her attention again.

"It's this way, just down the street a bit," Willoe pointed toward the left. There was a small corner market just across the street from the campus and down the street a block. It was small compared to the super stores and mostly students were keeping it afloat but it was nice and often quiet. "I think we just get the microwave and the cafeteria. Also why I wanted a blender, I don't know what their menus are like and don't want to starve."

She turned away from the bike, she could get it later, it wasn't hurting anyone being in front of the wrong building. She trotted up to Padget and walked alongside her in the direction of the grocery store. "What should we pick up? Rice is always a staple. Bread, peanut butter...." she trailed off trying to think of what she ate in a normal week.

Padget watched Willoe start off in one direction before turning back to walk beside her. She shrugged it off and walked briskly in the direction indicated of the grocery store. Reaching up to scratch an itch on one of her horns she could feel the green spots all over her skin soaking in the sunlight.

"I'm just taking four for now, I wanted to leave room open for my part time job and so that I can work on some shows this semester." She reached into her jacket pocket, pulling out a pack of gum she had gotten from Bella's stash before she'd left the house that day. Popping a piece into her mouth she offered one to Willoe. "What class are you doing online?"

She hummed, chewing the gum. She could live with just the stuff in the room. "I need some milk or whipped cream for my coffee, some jelly to go with the peanut better. Instant mac and cheese..." She listed off, ticking her fingers as she went.

Yes, hello. Excuse me friends.

It was at least nice out, still the heat of the day but with a good breeze to keep it from being unbearable. Willoe was thankful for the pleasant weather as she wasn't really one for extreme temperatures. She took notice of the bookstores as they walked past, she guessed there must always be a lot of textbook stores near college campuses. There were three just on this street.

"I getcha," she replied. "Where are you working?" She took a piece of offered gum and unwrapped it, saying her thanks before popping it into her mouth as well. "Its like a library research class? I dunno honestly but my adviser said it would be a good idea so I could get to know the library and all its services. It's just a 1 credit elective so I didn't think it'd be too bad."

She nodded along to the list. "We should get cereal too. And some frozen veggie packs. Man they really need to make pantry shelves for dorm rooms. Oh, maybe we should get some shelves? Or we can wait and see, we'll be there for the next four months so we'll have time."

"Oh, I'm a register clerk for the Food Market on the other side of town, closer to wear my foster home is. But I think I'm going to request a transfer to this grocery store since it's closer." Padget explained, felling the breeze rustle her hair and cool her face. "I'm really hopping to be spending the time doing shows though."

She fiddled with her keys in her pocket, putting one between each finger with ease to create a brass knuckle type situation with the keys. It was habitual and it made her feel safe. "Library research, well shoot, a credit is a credit." She tilted her head at Willoe. "I'm sure it will come in handy."

Padget grinned at the idea of cereal. Though she didn't think she had packed any bowls, just coffee mugs and a few plates. She'd have to double check when they got back to the dorm room. "Shelves or like, some of those plastic bins we can stack up and fill with dry goods." She blew a bubble, and after it popped she said "I saw a woman do that with her stuff on Extreme Couponing once when she was sending her kids a care package."

"Nice. Yeah I mean it's not like its too far but still, shorter commute. Plus employee discounts on groceries." She played with her gum in her mouth a little bit, taking a deep breath of the breeze as they walked along. As much as Willoe liked colder weather, mellow sunshine and a good breeze was hard to beat. "I know what you mean. Hopefully schedules won't be so crazy so you can have time for them. Maybe even get some tips from seniors and the teachers."

"Basically. I mean its not like it's super important but if I can do a little bit more than twelve hours every semester then I'll finish that much faster. I have to have twelve anyway for insurance so I thought why not? Plus maybe it'll actually be helpful? If anything I'll at least know where to find things or at least I hope I will." She didn't want to rush her college experience but she also didn't want to be there forever. Willoe was one of those who liked to hurry and finish one thing so she could move onto the next but she was at least trying to be smart about it.

"Oh that might not be a bad idea. I dunno, I thought shelves would be good just because we could put them on the wall instead of the floor. I read that organization was key in dorm room living since the space is so small. I wonder if we should be writing this down? Like maybe we should have a list instead of just throwing things in a cart and buying more than we need... or can carry back to the dorm." She laughed as she imagined the two of them trying to carry back a full cart load of groceries. "Maybe we should stick to essentials for now."

-That's super cute! I love their outfits <3 I need to draw my kids, they're so neglected D: You should put it up on Bella and Padge's pages!-

"I heard the theater department was starting to grow a little bit, but that by next year it would be small again because of how many seniors are graduating, so I should try to get my name known as soon as possible so I can stick out." Padget kicked a pebble sideways with her foot so that it skittered across the pavement and into the grass where it was out of the way.

"Well chances are you'll need the library at least once a semester so it can't hurt to know it back to front." She tilted her head and considered it for a moment. A class like that would probably be helpful, but then again if she really had any trouble Padget could always ask for help. Padget was in the habit of asking a lot of questions, particularly of people in charge because then she would know the answers for sure.

"Shelves are probably better but we can get maybe one storage container for emergency dry foods in case we ever get trapped in the dorm for weather reasons." Padget conceded, "We can shove it under my bed." Padget pretended to puff up to make herself look bigger in her jacket. "What, you think we can't handle a few blocks and a few dozen bags of groceries?" She held the position for a few seconds before releasing it all in a peel of laughter. "No, no you're right. We don't need a lot right away. Besides, we have meal plans so we might as well use them some of the time."

((Thank you! I've been meaning to edit their pages but I never seem to get around to it. One day I will.))
