Preparing for Battle After Luciens announcement Atrueheart draws her Fallen Angels into a tight circle.  "Well!  Nothing like an easy challenge to start our little adventure with!" she chuckles.  "Any thoughts on how we are going to accomplish all of that?"  Jeice, pulling some papers out of her bag, spreads them out on the deck.  "I have an idea that I've been working on for some time.  It's a glider that we can adapt to this situation."  The Angels pore over the plans.  "Brilliant!" exclaims Atrueheart.  Laurie is scribbling away madly in her notebook and then speaks up shyly.  "As I see it we have several tasks to accomplish and here's a list."  Pointing at her notebook everyone reads:

(Juryrigging specialist)  Webby:  Helping scrounge up the materials and sewing up the material for the glider.  Help Jeice put glider together.

(Potion and formula specialist) Calie:  Creating a strong and pliable black rubber dip for the team on the ship - could be strengthened by a spell or something by Talli.  She and Talli create a spray of the same concoction for the glider and glider team (spray substance is more aerodynamic)  She and Talli create a stun weapon out of the iron rod

(Spell and enchanting specialist) Talli:  Helping Calie create a protective layer substance on the glider and conjuring a spell for the metal rod to store electricity/energy in the atmosphere for stunning the bonded darkfog

(Charmer and scrounger, shuttle pilot) True:  Finds things in the ships lower deck to make glider, ect. using her charisma to charm the sailors into giving up their trinkets.  Man the companion shuttle to place the extra hooks.

(Expert marksman, glider specialist) Jeice:  Designing and piloting the glider put together by the team.  Once close enough for the team on the Frenchman to snag the WS with the docking hooks, Jeice wields the staff/rod that stuns the fog, Laurie wields the light to distract the leader of the fog

(Knowledgeable about static charge, weapon specialist) Laurie:  Balancing the glider with Jeice, she helps avoid the tendril strikes, gather the energy from the tendrils, ect.

WHAT WE NEED TO FIND

Spare sail cloth, rigging, wood from the mast, rubber or something that can be made into rubber that's black or dark in color, iron rod, a battery maybe?

WHAT WE NEED TO MAKE

Sturdy hang glider, protective head gear, rubberized compound in both dip and spray-paint consistency to protect from being seen and wraith strikes (bites) iron rods into static charged stun weapon.

"Alright then.  Thanks Laurie for lining it all out for us.  We all have a job to do so let's move like we have a purpose!"  Atrueheart nods in agreement of the plans and looks over the list of supplies that are needed.  "Hmmm... no problem getting the key to the storeroom.  winks  I know just the sailor that has that key."  she chuckles.  "Now the gold and silver will be easy as well.  Y'all know I can easily charm the sailors out of a few earrings and chains."

Picking up her lute, Atrueheart heads up on deck and sitting herself on a pile of rope begins to strum it humming softly.  The sailors gather around appreciatively as she begins a sea shanty she had picked up during her travels around Subetan seas.  The sailors give a roar of approval at the end of her song and throw some of their earrings into her tambourine she has placed at her feet.  Atrueheart swiftly starts a rousing song about rum and bravery on the seas and the sailors begin to stomp and clap along with her.  After each song the sailors showed their appreciation with little silver and gold baubles.  After three songs Atrueheart sees that her tamborine is overflowing and so she smiles seductively at the sailors stating "Your generosity humbles me!  Rarely, have I had such an appreciative audience!" she says enthusiastically.  The sailors beg her for another song but one of the deckhands run up to shout... "Cap'n's heading this way!  Ye better make a hole!"  The sailors scrambled around the deck trying to look busy, working the rigging and climbing around.  Atrueheart sees her target and glides over to him smiling seductively she places a hand on his.  Startled the sailor stammers out "Miss T-t-t-t-t-true! May I be of service to ye?"  Linking her arm in his, Atrueheart begins to stroll the deck whispering in his ear.  "A-a-a-anything fer ye Miss True!"  the sailor exclaims as he digs into a pocket and pulls out the storeroom key.  "What a sweet darling you are!" Atrueheart exclaims, pocketing the key.  "My hero! I'll have this back to you as quick as a wink!"  she whispers softly and then kisses the blushing sailors cheek.  "A-a-a-any time Miss True!" Strolling across the deck to her team amidst catcalls and appreciative whistles from the sailors, Atrueheart hands the trinkets to Calie, twirling a large skeleton key around her finger.  "Piece of cake!" she states winking at the others. True and Jeice head toward the steps leading below deck, calling out to the rest of the team to follow.  Making their way down into the darkness, Webby gives a low whistle,  "Did you guys see how both the repairs and new sections of the ship were implemented when we came on board?  You can sure tell Pugsy had a hand in repairing her can't you?"

Talli replied, "That was my first thought too, Webby.  It has to be Pugsy's work, she's the best there is."  "My first thought was what are we doing down here?" Laurie calls out as she makes her way into the underbelly of the ship followed closely by Calie.  Jeice replies "Looking for anything we can find that can help save the Wayward Squirrel of course.  And trying to keep up with True since she's the only one who knows where she's going."

As their eyes adjust to the din, the five of them weaved in and out of the hammocks and various crew items scattered about.  Lost in thought, it wasn't long before Laurie fell behind, thinking out-loud while absentmindedly chewing on her trusty no.2. The Unseelie Court wants something the Wayward Squirrel has?  What could that be?  Or who?!  She mulled over things she'd discovered in the archives in her head but nothing stood out.  "Angels!  Over here!"  True's sing-song voice derailed her train of thought and she shook the questions out of her head, quickly making her way to the others who were standing in front of a large storage room.  True turned the key and with a groan the heavy wooden door opened.  Webby was inside in a heartbeat. "Look at all this stuff!" she exclaimed, "Rigging, sails, rods, wooden spokes.. it's a gold mine!"  "Actually it's surplus from from when the Flying Frenchman was overhauled." True said with a smile.  "And I know a certain Ranger who knows exactly what to do with it."

Webby and Jeice begin to sort through the supplies pulling out what they need and placing it in a pile.  "We've got this!" exclaims Jeice looking over at the others combing through the supplies.  You all need to be about the rest of the things on the list."  The rest of the Angels exit the storeroom leaving Webby and Jeice poring over the schematics and beginning to work on the glider.  Webby pulls out a measuring tape and begins to measure the sail cloth and rope for the glider.  "There is plenty of sailcloth here Webby so what do you think about making some head protection for the rest of the team?  We could dip it into or spray that concoction Calie is working on to keep our team grounded."  Webby nods thoughtfully as she sets aside a piece of sail cloth for that.  Webby lays out the larger pieces of sail cloth in a triangular shape, setting aside two lengths of heavy rope.  "Enough you think?" she asks Jeice, while pulling over a chunk of maggot ridden wood and sits on it.  Jeice, sorting through some stacked wood for the frame, turns and nods in Webby's direction. Her mind focused on the task she begins to assemble the frame for the glider.  Webby takes out one of her hairpins and picks up some of the rope, separating it into several double strands of thread.  Webby starts stitching up the canvas for the glider.  They work swiftly together and soon have the frame finished. Webby begins sewing the canvas on chattering a mile a minute.  Jeice cuts the rest of the sail cloth set aside for the head gear and then picks up the rope, separating it into 6 sections and begins to braid it.  Webby looks questioningly over at Jeice and Jeice states "It's to hold our shock proof hats on."  Jeice demonstrates by placing one braid along the edge of a square piece of cloth, roll it over and stitch along the edge, securing the rope braid inside and repeat the process until she has them completed.  "Now all we need is that concoction Calie and Talli are working on to dip these in and Voila` we have shock proof head gear!"  Webby and Jeice fold up the finished glider and then head for the galley to meet up with Calie and Talli.

After they had gathered the supplies, Calie grabbed several items and dragged Talli along with her.  "Come on!  You can help me."  "Why the kitchen?" Talli asked when they arrived at their destination.  "It's 'galley', not 'kitchen' on a ship, and the galley is the perfect place to mix up some chemicals to help us out.  After all, the kitchen is just a big room where you mix chemicals into tasty treats!"

She quickly separated the items and handed some to Talli to hold.  Pulling down a kettle and setting it on the stove top to heat, Calie explained what she was doing.  "See, when it comes to electricity, you either want to conduct it or resist it.  We want to do both and there's  a lot of stuff on this ship that can help us!  Right now I'm melting the candles Laurie had, my rubber gloves and mixing in the items that will help us resist electricity.  We can spread the mixture onto anything; it's very versatile."  Calie added the powdered quartz and ground sulfur Talli gave her to the bubbling concoction then turned to Talli.

"We'll let that cook for a few while we work on the items to help us conduct electricity."  They took the long iron bars and wrapped the copper wire around the ends, every now and then adding in a gold or silver trinket True had gotten from the crew.  Once they had finished creating the rods, Talli gathered them in a pile on the table and held her hands above them. She closed her eyes and started murmuring strange words in an old language that Calie did not understand. A few more muttered words and the rods began to hum softly, warmth radiating from her palms. A spark flew from her palm and into one of the rods, and the chanting ceased. "There!" Talli gave a smile and rested her hands on her hips. "That should do the trick."

Once the concoction was complete, Calie removed it from the stove and peered inside. "Perfect, now I'll need your help again." Talli tilted her head slightly in question. "You see, we need to make this multiply, so there will be enough to use for everyone, so I figured maybe you'd have a spell to help with that?" Talli thought for a moment before nodding and placing her pack upon the table. Riffling through it, she found her spellbook and pulled it out. She flipped through the pages, scanning each as she went, before settling on a single page. She pulled out her spell pouch again, plucking several small ingredients from within and dropping them into the kettle. With one hand on her staff and a wave of the other, the kettle briefly bubbled and then went still.  "Be careful not to spill it," she warned. "I've enchanted the kettle to not run out. Once this is over, I'll remove the spell."  Talli motions over to two sailors sharing some grog in the mess hall and asks them to carry the kettle up to the deck.  Webby and Jeice follow behind carrying the glider.

Once on the deck the rest of the team gather around and Atrueheart calls out to the sailors and Laurie explains the plan to them.  Each sailor takes turns dipping their feet and hands into the kettle and Jeice shows them how to put the dipped head pieces on their head.  Grabbing a rod a piece from the pile the sailors leave and man their stations.  Some of them climbing up into the rigging.  Jeice unfolds the glider and Calie sprays it down with the quick drying solution.  Laurie and Jeice spray down their clothing with the black mixture and dip their hands and feet into it as well.  Webby steps up and places the head pieces onto their heads and steps back to admire them.  "Looking good!" she exclaims "Now one final touch!" Webby digs around in her bag and pulls out some black makeup and directs them to smear it on their faces.  "There... now you'll blend in!"

Atrueheart looks around at her team and nods decisively.  "Alrighty then... I have my shuttle fitted out with the extra hooks and it's all prepped to go.  We must keep the bad guys off of the Floating Frenchman and away from the shuttle long enough to get the hooks set.  You all know what you need to do so let's get to it."  Motioning to Calie and Talli to take their positions on the Floating Frenchman Atrueheart calls out "Webby you're with me in the shuttle!" and strides purposefully toward the shuttle bay, Webby scrambling up behind her.  Jeice and Laurie grab up their enchanted rods and tie a rope around the glider to haul it up to the yard arm where Jeice's companion Torchy and a sailor is waiting to pull it up and assist them in pushing off in the glider.  Grinning at the sight they make, all in black, they begin to climb the rigging, arriving at the same time the glider does.  Bracing themselves they make final checks on the glider and strap in, ready for the signal to begin.

[spoiler=Grappling with the Enemy] Two flashes of light come from the shuttle area. "Thats the signal!" Laurie hissed and whispered Good luck Angels as she and Jeice lept into the darkness.  Torchy, who's dark as night leathery skin made him virtually invisible flew easily behind the glider.  "You're sure thats a good idea?" Laurie whispered and Jeice nodded in response, she knew exactly what she was doing.  After they've soared some distance from the Frenchman, Jeice puts the glider into a sharp tilt and a fireball shoots right past their feet directly into the fog.  The darkfog creatures burst to life, their tendrils shooting light at the fireball which explodes on impact.

Their enchanted rods extended ahead of them, Laurie takes control and guides the glider through the electrically charged atmosphere swirling around them.  Leaning to the left, then to the right, following the swirl of electricity left behind by the creatures attack, careful not to get too close to the aggravated monsters ahead of them.  Once the rods attracted all of the electricity they could gather safely her movements ceased, giving control of the glider back to Jeice who masterfully manipulated the craft around the fog for several minutes as the creatures dispersed then put the glider into another sharp tilt.  A fireball shot right past Laurie's side into the fog, and again the creatures went into a frenzy.  Keeping the glider safe from harm as the darkfog swirls angrily, unable to spot what had attacked them, Laurie once again takes control, gathering the power their tendrils emit into the atmosphere.

Relying on Laurie's research the glider team continue their calculated attacks several more times, their iron rods gathering more and more energy until she intentionally dips the glider downward, signaling Torchy to stay directly behind them.  Super charged rods at the ready, the two of them mover deeper into the fog, their mission now - find the leader preferably without dying in the process. Jeice expertly maneuvers around the creatures, barely leaving much of a wake behind them as the darkness around them thickens.  The glider smoothly moves left and right, its protective coating deflecting electricity as they move in and out of the darkfog creatures swirling around them.  After what seems like a lifetime, they spot a large dark mass, with menacing eyes and horrifying teeth that hold a back the power of a storm that could rival any storm the team has ever weathered.  Both of them inhale a sharp breath at the sight of this thing, steeling their nerves, Jei

The Lone Star reporting in.

Chapter 2 RP ahead.

Cream stared quietly ahead as she listened closely to Izzy's instructions on what needed to be done in order to safely secure the wayward squirrel and restore a temporary peace in this moment of chaos. For her it was made even more chaotic by the fact that she was now a lone vagabond,Having to study a selection of various skills in record time was something she had become at during her time as a mage and for that she was grateful but her feeling of preparedness had flown out the window and she was now left doubting whether or not she could do this on her own. She didn't have long to wonder before she heard Izzy's voice call "Alright,It's now or never,We've arrived!"

Reaching into her satchel she pulled out a coil of rope,a gear oil kit, tacky glue,2 round hoops,a small vest with straps on the back and a larger one outfitted with straps as well,a small robotic device with remote that she had found hidden in one of the frenchman's luggage compartments, and her trusty companion fuzzybottom.

She would need fuzzybottom to assist her in getting the first of the docking hooks secured to the sides of the squirrel while she worked on mixing some ingredients for a spell that would assist in not only guiding the squirrel towards the protective beacons but also protect them from any stray unseelies. Leaning closely to fuzzybottom's ear she whispered a chant to the little creature in a comforting tone,This chant was a protection measure and would keep him safe as he rode the robotic device towards the wayward squirrel. It was a good thing that she was a vagabond and skilled in a little of this and that so she was able to create a makeshift seat for her companion to ride in and while inspecting the curious little device she had noticed it had a built in harpoon style system of some sort which was bound to be useful.

Quickly with her skilled fingers she wrapped the vest around fuzzybottom and attached the straps through the hooks of the seat that she had made and then carefully placed another strap located on the bottom of the device across his feet to secure him in. Before beginning the machine's power up it was essential to make sure it was properly oiled so she stuck the tiny oiling needle into each of the device's specially built oil ports and gave it a quick squeeze while doing so. There now that should do it she thought to herself.

While pulling up the antenna on the remote she quickly punched in the activation code sending the little device the signal to power on and with a series of chirps, hums, creaks, and a few whines it came to life. It truly was now or never for this operation,Carefully she began to work the joystick and slowly guide fuzzybottom towards the side of the frenchman while walking along behind him. Once there she pressed a large red button on the device's remote and this triggered the opening of a small door at the front of the chair along with the release of a harpoon style device that sent a rope with a pointy hook flying across the void and into the side of the wayward squirrel creating a type of zipline. Carefully she lifted up the chair device and secured it to the rope with a small round hook then she let go and watched as fuzzybottom was sent at a hair raising speed towards the wayward squirrel.

After she was certain that her companion had reached the wayward squirrel she attached the last round hook to the rope and then to her vest, tucked the remote into her satchel, placed the satchel over a shoulder and began to guide herself down the rope towards her companion and the squirrel. Once there she unstrapped fuzzybottom and he carefully maneuvered himself onto the wayward squirrel's rooftop then she began to unfasten the robotic device and hooked it to the remaining empty strap of her vest. Slowly she finished guiding herself to the outer wall of the squirrel and then unclipped her hook as well so that she could begin to maneuver around the building.

In order to get the docking hooks attached to the squirrel she would need to place a series of small hooks with ropes tied securely to them in various locations of the squirrel's structure and then return to the frenchman to attach the other end of the rope to the boat's docking hooks. First though she would need to get the protection in order so she climbed to the roof to pull out her mortar and pestel along with some sage, garlic, and mandrake root then she crouched down and began to crush everything together as quickly as possible then she sprinkled the contents of the little bowl all across the squirrel and whispered “Creatures of day align our flight,Creatures of night be blinded and keep us from your sight” Suddenly the squirrel became much more steady and she could see a faint purple glow around them,It had worked!

Now it was time to get down to business,As quickly as she could she began tying pieces of rope to the hooks then called fuzzybottom to her side and stuck a round hoop with rope attached in his mouth and sent him on his way to place the first hook in the center of the squirrel’s roof. It was time for her to get more hooks distributed as well so she grabbed 3 of them with rope attached and began to climb the side of the squirrel,Carefully she connected the hook into a slot on the side of the squirrel then attached the rope to her vest then began to climb to the other side,Once there she repeated the same thing and placed the rope onto her vest. The last hook had to be positioned in the center of the back wall of the wayward squirrel and she would need to clip the hook to a small bracket,She started on her way to the rear of the building and was met by fuzzbottom who had a rope in between his teeth. Good job fuzzy she congratulated her companion while clipping his rope to her vest and slipping him into her satchel.

Finally after what seemed like ages they reached the back wall and got the hook in place,Now it was time to zipline back to the frenchman. Carefully she began climbing down from the squirrel and went over to where the zipline was set up,Looking in her satchel she saw that fuzzybottom was fast asleep,She chuckled to herself and clipped them to the zipline and away they whizzed back to the frechman. That was some adventure she said to no one in particular once they were back on board,She quickly strode to the docking hooks and attached each rope to one, replaced the vehicle in the luggage compartment, then went over to a corner and promptly fell fast asleep with a snoring fuzzy at her side who unknown to her was dreaming of where the adventure would take them next.
