: Oh, I wish I had known that owning a small craft might have come in useful. Frieda has owned her small fighter pod Passion Flower for over 6 years now and it is her pride and joy while in exile on Omen. Alas, she sent it home with Robin. I guess it's for the greater good though, I wouldn't want to 'uber' her...too much. She'll worry that she did the wrong thing for her team now and berate herself for not thinking ahead. Is it too late for her to go back and get it? Yeah, I suppose it is...poor little thing.

Come over to the lodge and we can start to work things out. Wayward Squirrel 3--Chapter 2 Working thread for all..
Going Fishing!!! 🐟
That small craft is an accommodation for a few players that plan on playing their bards a certain way. It was never meant to be a "for everybody" option, only for the ones who had that written into their characters.
Oh dear. Does that mean that our Vagabond's motorcycle doesn't qualify?
Your Vagabond definitely can have a motorcycle, but you'll have to make it in Bordertown.
good, because this Vagabond wants a motorcycle too!
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Just so I am completely clear-we are hooking a building to a...spaceship? Sorry, I'm just a bit uninformed about ships.
Is the Squirrel floating on it's own or is there a chunk of land with maybe trees and the building on it?
And okay, so if a craft wasn't mentioned in the intro, it's not in any way an option now? (Like our prince Ranger can't say "Thank goodness I had my courrier send my glider ahead to the loading spot to await the frenchman while I rode to meet you all)
And Thank you! For answering my smail <3
Just to clarify, the Wayward Squirrel is just a floating building or is it postitioned on a small island? My group is a bit confuzzled about this.
Edit... Thanks for the post below but it doesn't quite answer my question.. So no towing allowed? I just need to make sure.. My character is a space ship pilot and she flew our team to the meet up. It's not very large, it's a small cargo ship, is it okay if comes along? She doesn't plan on using it except for rides when need be, as it's not equipped with any kind of firepower, but she doesn't really want to leave it behind. It's kind of her thing. Otherwise, if you think it's too big to be stored is it possible for her to tether it to the Frenchman and have it towed to the next destination?
There's an old saying that "the devil is in the details," and this certainly is the case in point here. In order to accommodate the two or three of you who were inspired by Firefly's Inara and wanted to play your Bard that way, I allowed the shuttle that is an integral part of her character from the beginning. Unfortunately, I also mentioned this, which unleashed this confusion, which was truly unintentional. I created my own monster, and for this I apologize.
Here is Inara's shuttle:

Here are the criteria to have this:
For background on Inara Serra, use THIS LINK.
Along with Izzy's Victorious Vixen, this is the ONLY craft allowed on the Floating Frenchman.
Now, as to the Frenchman itself. It's is not a battle cruiser, the Starship Enterprise, an aircraft carrier, Wolfman Jack's "hunk-o'junk", nor the Australian tugboat, Woona. It looks like this:

Even as it is, you can see that it must travel light in order to make it through the fog.
Those of you playing as Bordertown or "Firefly" characters will be able to have crafts and vehicles, as will the "Faerie Folk," should they want them. However, you will all have to build your own from spare parts, or tame your own creatures. You're just trying to get there right now.
As to the Wayward Squirrel itself. Since Larianne has already walked in the garden, we hope at least a patch of that will be left. However, try to envision its state as a much larger and posher version of this in a very dark fog:

Definitely not in Kansas anymore!
Hopefully this helps. If not, ask more questions.
Might be listed in the yellow pages LOL :P
In advance, Silver Legends is going to be doing their own thing. HOPEFULLY it is on target with what needs to be done grins
crumbles in the corner Laurie needs to write to you, even tho I know you're busy doll
Our Lair is proof you don't have to stand face to face to know you've got friends who stand with you when you need us.
Mni wiconi -- water is life
Thank you thank you thank you! I feel like I really get it now!
NEVER too busy for you! Write away, please! (And DON'T crumble!)
Oh, I'm glad! As I said, I caused this confusion, so I'm happy to clear it up!
: Thanks for clarifying Hon! No, no no...Frieda could NEVER ( I repeat... N E V E R ) pull off the companion/courtesan/geisha/gisaeng bit. She is more perky/cute/giggly/doofus/eager/saucy/clumsy/dorky kind of weasel-girl who is hopelessly monogamous ( though she has a professionally objective appreciation of other male species tushies...her reason for watching football for instance....it's about the 49 Football Men and their pants....thank you for getting her hooked on THAT sport... But it's late and I'm digressing... ) She looks good in a swim suit and can fly a fighter....may have even flown her fighter in a swim suit ( See The Love Truck Goes Camping ) So, I'm not going to worry about her fighter any more.
Moving on...
QUESTION TIME!!! Are the deck hands human, faerie, gnome, minotaur, orc, kumquat, or what? It's just a little question. I know Gaston is faerie...Frieda needs to rent a couple of deckhands. She'll return them in good order...a little dirty perhaps...you know...covered in sulfur, potassium nitrate and coal dust. Nothing else.
I need to light a lamp in here...gotta match?
Har! Poof! No eyebrows! Oh wait. Where are my whiskers?
Good to know, thanks! I was just about to add to all the messages asking about vehicles, but this cleared it up.
Are the Flying Frenchman and the Wayward Squirrel flying due to magic or technology? This has become amazingly relevant to how my character perceives his environment.
The Wayward Squirrel isn't flying--that's the pity. It is being buffeted aloft by the forces of the Unseelie darkfog in an effort to bring it down in their territory. Normally, the inn does no flying.
As to the Frenchman, it's an interesting combo of Faerie enchantments (in WS2, the original ship was cursed) and Crystanian engineering (very steampunk). So who can say really?
