Happy early Subetaversary! c:

One of the gifts I've received that mean the world to me is an old painting my uncle did over 20 years ago. I was a kid at the time and I loved watching him do art, it was one of my favourite paintings he had done. He was the one who inspired me to actually pursue a career in art (I ended up graduating from animation in college). Only thing is he was always in bad health, he died over 15 years ago and my grandmother had the painting framed and gifted it to me on the 10th anniversary of his passing.

I have this cheap Avon pendant that my step-grandfather gave me after my grandmother passed away. It is a gold heart-shaped tear drop with amethyst set in it, nothing super fancy or exciting. I keep in it a small little jewelry box next to my bed. I didn't really get to know her that well growing up, I hadn't seen her since I was maybe 6.5/7 years old, so it means a lot to me to be able to keep a piece of her with me. :)

My mum gave me a silver chain bracelet many years ago and I still haven't taken it off to this day. :)

happy subetaversary. So I got braces in elementary school and my parents got me a little plastic bear statue that holds a balloon that says grin and bear it. That seems really sweet to me. I had to get the braces because I had to get two teeth pulled because they came in too small so double ouch there. Anyway it still makes me feel comforted.

My first cat was actually a gift to me from my mom. That was my little princess....she lasted 20 years

An old boyfriend once made me a comic for my birthday. I know it seems like a little thing but that's the only time someone has actually took the time to make something special just for me. And it took him over a month to finish. It has much sentimental value.

Actually I just got a gift that kind of is heartwarming too me. It may seem silly to everyone else, but IDC.

So, (very long story short here), I have a pseudo kid who is not mine but I've been helping raise him for his entire life. We are blood related in a totally different way but I digress. I've had a rough few weeks due to various stressors.

The other day he was doing his surf team junk and found a shell for me. It's a totally naturally black seashell half - he brought it home because it made him think of me and so he not only remembered to grab it and not break it, but he made sure it didn't get crushed when his period was over and he made his way to my house, then he put it where I could find it so I would see it right away. He's 14, he's kind of a butthead a lot of the time right now, but he saw something that reminded him of me and thought it was very cool and then actually thought to bring it home to me. He's also found me some other things (both physical and not) recently that he's been sharing with me. It's his way of bridging the gap that his teenage years are bringing I think. And for some reason this touched me a lot this week.

My grandmother made me a quilt years and years ago, and I've been using it ever since and will never let it go. No matter how beat up and fallen apart it is XD She actually fixed it up for me recently and she left a needle in it! I had a nice surprise in the middle of the night when I rolled over and found it LOL rubs bum

When my bf and I had been dating for a few years he had his mother sew together a plushie penguin & jellyfish together hugging each other - since his favorite animals are penguins and mine are jellyfish. It was a very creative gift that I adored. It's now sitting on a shelf above our bed in our house.

So a few years ago, some dork gave me their friendship and it is the most sentimental thing ever. 0:~) /eyebrow wiggle

When I graduated from high school, one of my best friends left the Island and went to the USA, before she left we exchange something we love, I gave her my favorite chain with a drumsticks pendant which I treasured, and she gave me her favorite silver earrings. Its been years since then, and I still have them and wear them a lot, and every time I wear them I think of her and all the good times we shared.

What a neat idea :) I have this old ring of my grandma that i wear on a necklace. She used to wear it all of her life from when she was 19 till the age of 85. Whenever i get upset or just need comforting i tend to grab and hold or rub it. It makes me remember her and smile and gets me out of the worst moods :)

My most cherished gifted posession is Memory, Sorrow and Thorn book series by Tad Williams. I love books most from all things I own and this series is my favorite book series ever! It was gifted to me by my little brother who also loves Tad Williams and I treat this gift like something sacred :)

My most cherished item is a flannel nightgown I got back in the 90s from my mom for Christmas and I only wear it in December. It is a bit tattered but I can't let this go. One of my most memorable items received from her.

I really treasure any gifts given to me by my dad as he died suddenly at the start of the year. I have this stupid Jabba the hut bobble head that I had actually given him as a joke fathers day gift last year and I took back when he died
