I think this would be handy only if it involved an achievement for toys played with.
Otherwise, it seems like using server space for tracking something that doesn't really matter, you know?
^^ I agree
If there were achievements and a forum title I would love this! I have a few little kids that it'd be cute to have a list of the toys they've played with but I'm really not into just the random list by itself.. I mean if I really wanted I could just write my own list or make my own section with the [item= tag.
i'd personally like to be able to see the toys my pet has played with the same as foods eaten and books read, since i like the idea of consistency between the three item types. i guess it just feels weird being able to use those types of items in a same basic way but only keep track of/get achievements etc for two of them?
i do understand that toys are a bit different in that foods and books are more relevant (to keep pets fed + raise intelligence) while toys are much less practical for maintaining pets' happiness levels than minions, but i also think there are many people don't consider pets' hunger levels or intelligence but still feed/read to them for achievements or just to collect. it doesn't matter so much whether the toys are practical or not when it's for a collection. the main issue i see is with the minion is not as a tool for happiness but just as an aspect of your pet, if that makes sense? if someone wants to play with their pets for an achievement but also wants said pet to have a minion, they're going to run into a problem. on one hand i like the collectable aspect of being able to see the toys your pet has played with like foods and books, but at the same time, i don't think i'd want to give up that pet's ability to have a minion.
side note (but sort of relevant?): this'll end up being a (very slight) problem for me anyway – i'm like 80% sure major drills has asked me to give a certain toy to my pet to play with before, so once i get my pets better finalized and pick out minions for each, i'm gonna have to quit those quests. again, it's a minor inconvenience (i skip over some of his drills anyway, though they're ones that i am capable of doing and it's just cos i'm lazy lmao) and not an issue for people who don't do his quests, but it is kind of annoying that i won't be able to complete a simple quest just because i want my pets to have minions.
idk, maybe some aspects of toys/happiness could be rethought? no matter what the decision is ultimately, it's not a bad idea to take a look at how things stand currently and consider what changes might be an improvement.
