Unfortunately, I feel the good days of Gaia are long gone anyway. I used to meet some really cool people there, but they've all quit and I only log on every now and then, and that's usually just to amuse myself by looking at how awful it has become. >.> Sort of bittersweet.

I did not meet my current guy on Gaia, but he did have an account there at some point that he barely used lol. I'm not actually old yet (24) but things like yahoo messenger make me feel ancient. I also stuck with AIM for a verrrry long time and had dialup until a couple years ago, so there's that. :p

Haha, yeah, AIM was a go-to after school place for me too. I'm just a generally nostalgia loving person, as can be seen by the hungry caterpillar at my avatar's side. xD But yeah, I think the fact that I found online lover on Gaia is just completely random. There are so many different places to talk to people these days, I guess you just never know what can become of it. :o

Well Tim and I met on Tinder. I know, I know Tinder is a dating app. Well i had just moved to the area and i honestly just wanted to meet a cool guy who could show me around. I had mentioned that i loved aquariums and he offered to take me to one! We both agreed that this WAS NOT A DATE. But after i released that he was pretty much the best person I've ever met. We went on a real date after that and we've been inseparable ever since.

And now after a while, we're married. (:

Yeah I did this with somebody I met on the internet. In truth I was really just a lonely teenager without anybody else to talk to. I mean I'm glad I had somebody. But I wish I hadn't gotten so emotionally attached to a person on the internet. It ended when they grew up. Later on I grew up too. I reckon they're doing fine.

My girlfriend and I met on a roleplaying forum. She always likes to tell people that when our characters were falling in love, we were falling in love with each other, haha. We ended up texting/messaging each other all the time and developing feelings for each other. To make an online relationship even more difficult, she doesn't even live in the same country as me. Our time zones are five hours apart. Yet, we make it work and this summer I got to visit and stay with her for a month while she was studying abroad. Everyone was really skeptical since we hadn't met face to face but honestly, we got on great the whole month and are already planning our next meet up. Distance and physical proximity may be important to some people, but it's not an issue for me.

I met my boyfriend through a group in DeviantArt. We followed each other and began talking and we hit it off straight away. After like a year of skyping everyday I started to have feelings for him, but I didn't want a relationship because of the distance (8700 miles). Then he told me he was in love with me. Eventually I said "fuck it" and left everything behind and flew to Paris, where he was. It was magical. We've been living together ever since (now back in my country).

That's the reason of my username, too. I regret nothing.

Conducting the relationship online, exclusively, would probably become a hindrance on connection in some regard, as well as really "seeing" the person (as they are, truley, wholey, in every way).

I met my husband online so I support online romances.

I came across his MySpace profile. I thought he was cute, but that time around I wanted to just chat and be friends. Every other time I tried to pursue guys it didn't turn out well. I decided that pursuing him as a friend would be better.

His profile had music from rock bands I was crazy about. Specifically he had Static X "So" playing on his profile. I was like, I need to talk to this guy he seems cool.

After a few weeks of messaging we finally exchanged numbers. We fell for each other hard. He lived about 200 miles away. After about a year we moved in together and he was sweet enough to move to my city.

We've been together for 10 years now and in 2012 we married. c:

Me and my boyfriend Zack met online and have been in love since c:

So, pretty much the story is, we met each other on facebook yeaaaars ago. Probably like 5-6 years ago? No one knew who he was, and no one met him in real life, according to my friends. I always thought in the back of my mind he was probably a troll or a catfish. Me and him would talk on and off, flirt here and there, but never took it seriously because I just didn't know who he was. I didn't know if he was real, and that's always usually the problem now of days. Another thing is, is that we would make plans and he would always blow me off, so I just kind of gave up on the whole idea.

So about 2 and a half years ago, we started talking more seriously. Talking every day, starting to care for each other, ect. We finally got to meet and he asked me to be his girlfriend, and obviously I said yes. We've been in love for 2 years and a few months now.

It's been a long relationship, and took trust to build, but it was definitely worth it.

I think it's just gonna be odd when we have kids in the future and they ask how we met, and we say online, hahaha.

I met my husband in a chatroom, forteen years ago! We are both Roleplayers and first our Chars fell in love, than we did. In this time, he lives on the other side of the country. So we keep on chatting and hang on the phone all nights long. At this time, his parents divorce. His mum was a "little bit" crazy, so he had no place to live. We met for the first time when he moved in! Sounds crazy? It was crazy. But on the 31October this day is fifteen years ago and we are happy together, loving us the same way we did when we first looked in each others eyes! :)

That's so cute! I have kind of a horror online dating story lol! When I was twelve I played games online, and one guy once fell in love with me, but he was like, 17 or so. Also, he lived on Nordeste, white I live in Sudeste, so pretty far away in my country. So, we talked since then, and when I was about 14 we dated online, but I soon broke things up. But he kept following and finding me in websites like facebook, instagram and whatsapp (I don't know how lol). So I kept blocking him and kind running away. He has stopped that a while ago, but since then and not really a fan of online dating, even though my bestfriend found her super nice and sweet boyfriend (who is also my friend) that totally completes her (and lives nearby) on facebook. So I guess it can be both beautiful or completely dangerous, lol.
