I was going to say "not as long as they're at least a different color" but the greedy shit has these four in there:
You gotta really squint to see the color difference, so no.. it doesn't matter give me booze dammit subeta
Thanks for the second opinion haha.
Like yeah, some variety is nice but I'd prefer 20 items in multiple colors than only 30-whatever that are unique :L But wow those sample size drinks
I don't pay attention to events that are just WEARABLES, WEARABLES, WEARABLES, so I don't even bother making a thread for Masquerade.
We could have so many cool appetizers and so many cocktails but it's like staff wants lounge trinkets to be worthless.
I haven't fed all of what's in there to my gourmand yet, mostly because I just bought it all earlier, but I do feel like there's a lot less in there. The poor Lounge gets the short end of the stick every year it seems. I don't mind re-colours. Knives just wants lots of food to get fat and sassy.

You know, the more I look at releases, the more I want 2016 to have zero wearables released.
If we're at a point where, for the sake of originality, we have to release tentacles (who have nothing to do with masquerade), I think we released everything that was relevant clothing wise for the masquerade.
The stickers are awesome. I'm super happy we got a Victoria and Isaac to complete the set. This is an absolutely relevant thing to add to the store, because it has to do with actual NPCs. The books are great. The dapper sharks are okay, and I would have preferred things like SW pets plushies/beanbags, but I can deal with the sharks. Or the horses.
But, it's getting insulting to see 17 octopus/tentacle items in the menagerie. Who are not even sets because the boots and ribbons don't even match.
And yet, we get an absurdly low amount of lounge items who, once again, sell for an absurdly high amount of trinkets. It's artificial difficulty to price the items that high, and guess what. It's shitty and lazy.
It was shitty last year, because nearly everything in the first lounge batch was really expensive, but we got a cheaper batch later. Now.
We have a whooping 5 lounge items who are 10 trinkets or under.
Yet, we have 34 wearables who are 5 steamworks trinkets or under, if we follow the 2 lounge for 1 steamworks ratio.
You read me correct
THERE ARE 2 MORE WEARABLES YOU CAN BUY FOR 5 STEAMWORKS TRINKETS OR LESS THAN THERE ARE LOUNGE ITEMS ALTOGETHER AND IF IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU ANGRY, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY
Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't get the tentacle clothing stuff. Probably add the other nonwear octopus things as well to that. Those would have been great for the pirate holiday, I'm blanking here.
As for recolors of foods/drinks: bring them on if it means we get a few more things in the Lounge.
A suggestion: Make some more petit fours in different colors. I'm sure that right there can have loads of items. Make some of them whole and others cut in half.

We have an event shop who is for food and drinks and yet, we get 32 items in there for the year.
So many cool petit-fours

I'm also sad that the beverages have gone from irl/mock irl beverages to "generic fruit spritzer" type stuff. And, the Lounge has some of the best item art on the site, and were barely getting any.
As a monster ha maker I do like the tentacles, but do we need another 3 sets of corsets in drab colors with gears shoehorned into the design? Do we need more gear wearables in general? There are some A+ items in the menagerie, but there's also a ton of subpar ones. I mean one year we had two different sets of lace neckwear in the exact same colors... Those could have been 4 extra drinks or snacks in the lounge.
Just wanted to say that cephalopods are a huge part of the steampunk-culture, and thus they do have a reason to be in the menagerie. But I agree that there should be a better balance in the food-wearables-ratio... :S
Hell since the staff like tentacles this year
ps... I am never looking up anything tentacle in google ever again without my safety search on =/
It wouldn't even bother me that much if the wearables would wow me but...but...tentacles in I don't know how many colors? I would strongly prefer more alcohol over that tbh. :/
I was bummed by the lack of libertine items as well :c I never expect the food items to outnumber the wearables, but I do get really excited for all the cool food items that come with masquerade
I do wish there were more food/drink items released, but of course wearables always outdo anything else on Subeta :x
Even though I have no interest in food I think it's sad that the Libertine Lounge gets so few items in comparison to the Menagerie.
The Libertine Lounge is the bit I get excited about the whole event (and some interesting wearables). But it saddens me that it doesn't get the good treatment which the menagerie receives as it seems to stock less and less. v_v
Just wish that the menagerie stocked other things aside from wearables as it's very… overwhelming! The second wave was fine enough but I felt the third is a bit much. (despite, I quite like some of the third releases!)
I mean, I love the item art in the Lounge, it's amazing. But idk, I'm under the impression that staff thinks they have to make only unique items for the lounge and that's the reason there are so few. Now let me tell you that just isn't right. We love the item art, so we appreciate every recolor of it. If there's a super pretty drink with item art in five pretty colors with item names that involve five different flavors, I'm not unhappy that the first of them isn't unique; no, I WILL BUY THEM ALL AND ENJOY because I enjoy that now I can have five pretty items that on top are coming in very handy to reach a certain achivement. Seriously. How is the mass of the wearables produced? Obviously recolors; it is obviously too much to produce 120 unique items and people know that, and enjoy recolors anyway. So in the lounge, it should be exactly like that, too.
- those petit fours are sooo pretty O_O
I like the food for Choo to eat but I also love it's prettiness. I definitely think the lounge is over looked :(
[edit] plushie and beanbag petit fours or other foods would be cool for the lounge too. Or even, dare I say it, wearable foods.
