I think, because it works for me, that all you need to do is post something short then go back in and edit it. You can then make really long posts without any issues.

I use Chrome on Windows, I think it works the same for any browser but I could be wrong.

: Thanks for your great advice, I got it to work once I got home from Clinic and could use my old Mac and Firefox. I really struggled with the Windows machine and Explorer, for some reason. I would get everything posted and it appeared to work, until I went back to edit something. Then it would truncate half of what had successfully posted previously. At one point, it truncated everything and I couldn't make the edit because Subeta won't allow a zero post. It was a strange behavior because the edit box still showed all the text. No problems on the home computer though. I wonder if the Clinic computer needs a Java update....hmmm....
