I'm sat at work and pretty bored since the rain is pouring down outside scaring off customers, so thought I'd ask;
What job do you have in RL? Do you enjoy it, or is it just a means to an end?
I work as a nursery aide for a church on Sundays and Wednesdays, and I babysit pretty much whenever on other occasions.
Hi! I'm Bana and I'm in love with Sweetheart pets.
Trying to be more social on here. Let's see if it works.

Hi! I work in HR. It's an admin role and I do really enjoy it. I want to stay in HR, whether in an admin role or something else.
that sounds really good, do you plan a career in childcare? I'm glad you like HR and admin, my husband used to do admin for a huge company and he really enjoyed it.
I own a children's book and toy shop. We've been running online for 3 years (inbetween me having kids) and opened our first ever proper store in sept last year. So far it's going quite well if a little quiet at times.
that sounds amazing! Is it really hard work to set up your own business and keep it going?
I'm a college tutor .. pretty boring lmao.
what do you teach?
it really is, sometimes you're highfiving yourself over how brilliantly your doing and how good you are at what you do, and sometimes your wondering how you're going to pay your rent! I figure the idea is to not praise yourself too much or berate yourself too much. We've been open nearly 6months and are just about breaking even and managing to pay all our bills, rent, mortgage etc. some weeks are really tight but we're getting there. Would love to have a cushion this time next year though so we dont live so hand-to-mouth!
I help in sociology, psych, history and pretty much stuff in my major.
Yep! It's a career I genuinely enjoy.

that sounds pretty cool, I've always been interested in child psych, I look into it in my "free time" which there isn't a lot of!!
I work at an Acme (the supermarket chain, not the cartoon supplier of terrible ideas). Specifically, I work the Salad Bar and Melon Bar, meaning I'm in charge of cutting up all that fruit and packing it into those ready-to-go bowls, trays, and cups. Everything from egg trays, custom fruit trays, veggie platter, parfait cups, and so on.
I don't want this to be my career. At all. The lady I took over for had been working the bar for a good 30+ years. This is just income until we're more financially stable (which could take years at this rate...) and a means to pay for all the pet care at home without having to worry too much about having to decide between getting the pets food or feeding ourselves.
I work at Kohls as a Fulfillment Supervisor which basically means I fill online orders and ship them out and am in charge of making sure those under me aren't shipping out the wrong things or generally not doing their jobs. 90% of the time it's just me though the only time I'm really in charge of other people is November/December with Cyber Monday and Christmas and what have you.
It's a pretty nice job and it's better pay than I've had anywhere else. I wish they hadn't done away with my vacation time, but meh among all the other jobs I've had it's definitely the best. It's not somewhere I want to work my entire life unless I can become a DM or GM, but it's given me a great deal of experience and I've met a lot of good people working there.
I have an apprenticeship in the deli section of my local grocery store, I like it a lot! Even if it wasn't what I set out to do with my life is close enough to it that I feel good about it! :)
I work at a finance company with super high interest rates and its disgusting to be apart of that x.x
I have to take calls from angry customers and try to sell people things they dont need....
I want a new job! xD

I work as a receptionist at an assisted living facility. I answer phones, type documents, answer questions, put dvds on for residents to watch, and open the locked doors for people to get in and out. I also keep residents from leaving, even when they get agitated as all hell about it. There's a certain few, mainly one, who bug the living shit out of me on a daily basis, but generally it's a good job and I'm happy here.
Patient sitter at a local hospital. So basically a baby sitter but not as well paid
Currently unemployed as I've moved recently to go to grad school, however I was a library clerk before. And hopefully a librarian soon (hence the grad school)!

Currently I'm a freelance artist, I love it lots but it isn't earning me enough. So yeah, this is only temporary.
I'm hoping to be accepted into art school in fall so I can pursue to be a professional artist.
(though I would absolutely love to have a place in an orchestra someday, it is probably too late for me ;w; )
