I'm rather curious to know what other users collect in the real world. I myself happen to collect various thing.
-I'm an avid stuffed animal collector, both on-site and off. And I also work on collecting: -Dream catchers (which I not only buy but also make) -Pocket watches -Coins (though the vast majority of my collection is still floating around in storage somewhere from the last time I moved) -Comic books, to a certain extent. I'm not the kind to go looking for some ultra-collectible issue or anything. I just happen to have a huge cache of comics that were either passed down to me, or that I bought recently. -Animal remains (bones, skulls, feathers, pelts) from naturally-found sources.
So what do you people collect? I'm curious to know!
I seriously collect postcards from all the places I've visited. They're small and easy to store so they don't take up any space and they're interesting if I want to show them to other people. Also, they are extremely cheap so there's no reason I can't easily pick up three or four from various places while I'm on vacation... it's nice to be able to pick up a souvenir AND a collection item for less than 25 cents. Plus, I don't have to worry about making space in luggage to get them home and I can buy as many as I like.
I also collect small salt and pepper shakers and stickers, but they're not serious collections and I wouldn't be too upset if something happened to them or I lost interest.
If I had the space and money I would collect old fashion tin lunch boxes.
I collect coins. Not just foreign coins but unique, non-currency coins like carousel tokens and deformed pennies and stuff.
As a kid I used to collect stuffed animals, erasers, marbles, stickers, bouncy balls, keys, books, and small figurines. I eventually ended up getting rid of all of those collections though.

Thank you!
I also collect keys and non-currency coins! I grew up in NY so I have a lot of the old MTA subway tokens still, and back when FunTime USA was still around I had saved a bunch of the Game Tokens and Action Tokens from that place. Though it has been gone for many many years that place will always have a special place in my memory and collection.
I remember amassing a huge amount of marbles, too. I'm not entirely sure where my collection went but I'm pretty sure they're tucked away in storage somewhere.
Postcards are always cool. I never saw the appeal in them too much but I do have a postcard saved from Obscura Antiques and Oddities in NYC. They have a show on the Science channel and when I found out they were located not too far from where I used to live I of course had to go back and get a little souvenir. I think I bought two nice skeleton keys and some coyote teeth and they threw in the postcard for free.
-pings friends to see if they wanna get in on this conversation-
Doughnuts, action figures, chickens, stickers.
I collect:
I still have my childhood collections of bouncy balls, Pokémon cards, Gogo's, and stickers. I've actually started collecting stickers again as well, but now I also use them instead of just hoarding them in sticker albums. XD
Stamps, coins, shells, feathers, stones, dust, etc.
You collect skulls, too? Awesome! How many and what species have you found so far? My collection is small but I love each one a lot. I collect the new MLP toys. I used to have a bunch of the Gen 1 toys when I was a kid. I liked the toys when I was little, but the animation of the show really freaked me out so I never knew what their names were. Found grocery lists has definitely got to be the most unique thing I've ever heard of being collected. I work in a grocery store so I find a lot of those on the daily.
I, too, collect shells and feathers. I grew up owning several small boats so being at the beach 90% of the summer, every summer, meant I had a lot of time to be beach combing. I even snagged a book from the school library when I was a little kid to help me identify all the different shells! As for feathers, I have boxes and boxes of them ranging from the common seagull and common pigeon to pheasant, guinea hen, even bluejay, and several other species. Do you use your feathers and shells for anything, or do you just silently hoard them?
My collections are all pretty tiny...bone, fur, and pens. I do collect guns though, mainly WWII military firearms, it's a decent size now.
Haha I was wondering when you'd turn up I forget, what kind of fur do you have in your collection?
just the grey fox and the deer shoulder mount at the moment. I gotta get on tanning all those raw hides I have in the freezer.
I have a lot of Pokemon stuff, especially figures and plushies. But my more serious collection is keychains. I started it when I was in Japan and wanted to have souvenirs from the different places I went. Keychains(and cell phone straps, technically, but they're almost the same anyway) were the easiest to collect and almost always in gift shops. Now I have a bunch from different states from a big road trip, plus a few from family members. They got me ones from different countries, too. I have one from Vietnam, one from Mexico, and one from Israel. I have them all hanging on a cork board in my room. ^^
That's awesome! I used to constantly have a huge jumble of cell phone charms hanging from my phone back when I actually had ones that had the little hole for that. I have a huge metal box of pokemon figurines, too! I only buy them from one shop back in NYC though, but when I do I buy a bag of about 10 random pokemon for $3.50 I wonder if that small shop is even still around these days? It used to be much easier to collect them back when I only lived a train ride away. I do have a binder of old pokemon cards though. Lots of perfect-condition original cards. A good number of legendaries and halo cards.
I collect Wades, the little ceramic figurines that come in Red Rose tea. Oddly enough, I don't actually drink that tea. I just buy the figures in antique/thrift shops or garage sales/flea markets. I also collect other small ceramic figures such as the Hagen-Rennaker ones. They're mostly animals, but I also have some circus figures, including the only clown in the world that I like.
My sister collects Hagen-Renaker animals! For xmas she sent me a H-R blue dragon baby and it is the cutest little thing. At a flea market I found a whole bag of Napcoware ceramic animals and the guy only wanted 25 cents per animal. I've got a snail, rabbit, raccoon, turtle, owl, and she kept all the other ones.
I believe the Hagen dragon she sent me was from an ebay lot, so I'm not sure how much she spent on it. I think she bought a lot that was a purple dragon, a blue dragon, and the baby cow with a bottle that she gave our mom because mom is obsessed with cows. We just slowly expand her cow collection exponentially every year. Anything with cows on it is fair game. She also has a fairly large Precious Moments collection but buying new pieces for her collection gets tricky when it comes to figuring out what she doesn't already have!
Ha! My mom is the same way with chicken/roosters in the kitchen and little sparrow-type birds in her bedroom/bathroom, lol. I don't have any of the Hagen dragons, except this one adorable little green baby dragon that is my favorite in the collection. It's tiny and stupid cute. XD
after many years of absolutely loathing chickens and all things chicken-related my sister finally turned around and started liking them. So now she has a bunch of little chicken things in her collections. Last thing I bought her was this vintage simple stuffed chicken toy that was polka-dotted.
