Holy shit!

So this rapist is angry that a victim would retaliate. Saying the victim should just lie still as she's being violated? And then saying it's wrong for her to say anything? The latter seems like part of him KNOWS it's wrong but he doesn't acknowledge it (probably with some fantastic leaps of logic).

And a 'decent' girl? What a backwards way of thinking that leads to for him >.<

I can't even fathom how a predator could consider himself the victim of the one whom he is victimizing.

's a mindset that I am guessing may take years to change. You cannot change social constructs that have been that ingrained in Indian society for such a long time in a short amount of years. That said, the younger generation is changing and how India is in the future is dependent on what they do in the here and now. If there's people protesting then, that means the social mindset is changing as well which is a step in the right direction.

It's pretty much, like what said, a social construct. Women are widely viewed as property in many countries, and not just third world ones. I'm not going into the issues involved in some first world countries since this is about India, but India has a terrible reputation for the mistreatment and abuse of women. Lately, it feels like any articles I read about India usually involves some kind of physical and/or sexual assault on women.
