I don't like this. I may be in my twenties now, but according to the internet I've been over eighteen since I was ten. What's to stop others from doing the same? Are we going to have to scan our IDs, and somehow prove it's actually our ID? Not happening. I don't look like my license picture and I've already had a cop complain about that.

I think the forum needs to remain accessible for all members of the site, with the exceptions that already exist staying the way they are (gold forum, CWs).

If you're an adult, then you know how to tread lightly in topics that you might want to discuss. If you want to discuss something and can't do it here, do it elsewhere. If you want to be descriptive or vulgar, go elsewhere. If you want to discuss something that you think a thirteen year old shouldn't read or know about, this isn't the place for it.

no, no, a thousand times no. if there are porn sites that have nothing more than a "if you are under 18, leave now, but click here to continue browsing if you are of age" that you can click "yes i am 18" and proceed anyway, regardless of if you're still a minor or not, with literally no way to prove if whoever is visiting the site IS indeed 18+, whos to say kids wont do that here?

hell if you made it so your birthday upon signing up would allow you to see that forum, or not, depending on age, who the hell's to say kids wont figure that out and lie about their age there when they sign up?

this is just a bad idea. if you want to discuss things, or roleplay things in that vein of topic where it would need a r18 notice, take it off site to skype or tumblr or some other site that isn't a pet site.

If you're mature enough to handle that kind of discussions online, you should be mature enough to recognize that this isn't the right place to talk about it. Since OP is trying to put as fine a point on it as to say 'oh we should have a place to talk about stuff that is clearly not ok enough to warrant bans and mods stepping in,' I would say OP and the like are probs not mature enough to handle that kind of discussion here, where there are limits as to what you can say. So no, if you want to push the envelope that far, go somewhere else.

Sometimes real maturity means realizing that you don't always have to find ways to bend/break the rules. Intentionally breaking rules/laws etc., isn't cool or edgy.

I'm gonna go with what said. The debate forums are good for handling mature conversations and also have mods making sure it's debate and not targetting.

If you wanna talk about or even mention something "risque" like 50 Shades of Grey, take it to the debates and I will literally hand your ass to you on a silver platter.
