Just some questions about Survival. when does it start? does anyone know whether they'll be new zombie strains this year? anyone know if there is going to be a plot this year? Thanks!

I think it usually starts around or after Valentine's Day. There might be new temporary strains like last year, or new skins now that we have the feature in the beta wardrobe but no one really knows for sure. And while no one knows for sure about a plot either, we did just have one at Morostide so I wouldn't think we would have another one but who knows.

1 Anytime in the last half of February. 2 TPTB know but they are not telling, us users do not. Personally, I think there'll be more, just to test out the new Skin layer in the Beta Wardrobe. You can't see them because I've hidden them behing the Body and Backdrop layers, but I'm wearing my Shrunken Heads and my Mask as preventatives already. 3 I've seen hints there may be a plot.

Survival started around 15th in 2013, so it could start anywhere between 14th-17th

Shrunken Heads and mask?

the original zombie viruses were transmitted by air and by other users biting you. [item2=doctor mask] was resistant to but not proof from air transmission. [item2=shrunken head pendant] allowed you to dodge zombie bites and/or punch the attacking zombie.

And those just keep you from (or lower your risk of) becoming a zombie?

Yes, in the original infection, this was true. They also helped you from catching a different strain from your own. Someone else who was further progressed in their disease could reset you to their own strain by biting you.

Biting was very strongly objected to by some. This is probably why there was an opt-out when organ harvesting was introduced last year.

In years following, either you needed to go out of your way to get infected by taunting the residents of Shadowglen, or the year's plot forced everyone who wanted to participate to get accidentally infected in one of the steps.

In previous years, Survival has started on these dates/times:

2014 - 14th February, 02:05 pm 2013 - 15th February, 02:25 pm 2012 - 13th February, 07:38 pm 2011 - 14th February, 02:26 pm 2010 - 15th February, 11:14 am

If I remember it correctly between 2010 and 2014 Survival started on a Friday or Monday, if they keep it like that it'll start on the 16th this year.

I hope it starts today. I'm getting bored.

They had a perfect opportunity yesterday, with it being Friday the 13th. I can't be the only one disappointed.

I wrote a big test yesterday, that was clearly enough horror for Friday 13th. XP

Seriously though I was expecting it to start yesterday, too and even activated my GA...and we all know that time = money.

I was hoping it would start yesterday, too. I've got most of this weekend to myself, and was looking forward to two uninterrupted evenings of doing Survival things and eating chips.
