I thought this has bene talked over to DEATH awhile ago considering this was on my task list from like.. early last year and I'm just getting around to finally getting it out for the battle admins! The goal was obviously to have a little less EXP going out while letting people fight retired opponents you can't fight otherwise + having a little bit more of a gauntlet feel.
We're going to be working on the EXP prizes themselves over the next few days (I agree that the three in a row of 3,000 isn't fun, we're going to increase those) and look at adding some more opponents to the more sparse pools.
You get the EXP on the battle page, not the battle quest page. It's a little confusing but it already had the systems in place to give those prizes out!
We're adding in a "skip" for GAs (one per day!) so they can have a chance to get another opponent that isn't the one they wanted.

Because you shouldn't be able to complete every tier of the battle quests if you don't have a strong enough pet.
Anyway - like I said we're totally down to change around some of the prizes, I got my prize list entirely from and which they made seriously a year ago, so it's probably going to take some tweaking. We appreciate the feedback :)!

Because once people get there they feel stuck. We want it to feel like you're working up with your pet, not just blasting through, because every time you do a BQ you can feel how much further you're getting granted you'll be in a tier of it for awhile before moving up.

I also dont' think that this is handicapping people who are just starting, you're getting 1,500exp for the first five battles which I think is more than they got before? I could totally be wrong, though.

The current exp payouts were set up so that a pet, at any given tier, would be able to purchase 10hp if they could beat their tier's boss (with the exception of quest 30, that is bonus exp).
I'm sorry, but you guys aren't going to be getting the exp payouts of the old BQs. The 40-50k exp you could get daily was just way too high.
We'll definitely look into changing the amounts though. They were purposefully set low because pet growth was completely out of hand due to BQs.
I trust him with the numbers. And if those numbers were correct, then the current exp rewarded is incredibly close to what you were getting before.

I hope you see where we were coming from, we wanted to make it feel a little more like a game instead of just doing the regular battling.
