The Lords and Ladies of the Court talked amicably amongst themselves, taking their teas, coffees and treats while they gossiped and eyed up each others outfits. Her Imperial Majesty's royal advisers didn't even bat an eye at the hustle and bustle of the court, nor the destruction Queen 's appearance caused. They were fully engrossed in their task: briefing their Empress on the details of the cases, and the people that were due at her Court.
As for the Empress herself--she was looking straight ahead, observing the Royals and Nobles coming in, and the ones that were already seated. She heard every word her advisers said, yes, but she also heard the others within the courtroom as well, her eyes following even though they didn't appear to be looking at anyone at all.
"Interesting, very interesting. What a lively group of individuals we have on this warm, spring day, wouldn't you say dears?" the Empress asked in a soft, amused voice.
"Of course, Your Majesty. No one would ever call life here dull, that is for certain," one of the Lady Advisers answered with a smile as she handed her Empress another report. No being, intelligent or otherwise, would dare to ignore the Empress when she spoke.
"I....see," the Empress said after reading the report, said paper disappearing immediately afterwards.
"If you will excuse me dears, I shall be with you again in a moment," she said, standing up from her lush cobalt and gold fainting couch and disappearing, only to appear before Lady , Lord , and her three Assistants Ladies , , and right after Lady Witchy made her statement to the Duke about the case possibly being thrown out.
"I just had new stained glass put up for some of the windows here...there will be a trial." her Imperial Majesty voiced, a mischievous glint in her silver-grey eyes. She raised her lace-gloved hands above the Queen's and air-kissed both of her cheeks in greeting. "Darling, beautiful and enchanting as always, I see." she complimented before greeting the Lady Assistants with respectful nods, sincere smiles and the gentle grasping of their hands for a few seconds. She greeted the Dragoness, Lady last, passing over her brother almost as if she did not see him.
"Lady Cyroris," she started, a smile still on her lush, red velvet lips. "I was quite pleased to receive your reply to my invitation. Companions of the Queen of Wind and Woe are always so intriguing, mystifying." she smiles again to Lady wytchdancr. "And absolutely fabulous." she adds.
She raised her hands, a cobalt, white and gold tea cup appearing in one hand, a matching saucer in the other. Raising the cup to her lips, she asked. "How do you all like the Herald? He belongs to Lord Rothchild--the mortal that wishes to court Lady Sheridan, Baroness of Chandelei, 23rd great-granddaughter to Queen Arinna." she stated before calmly taking a sip of her tea. "He insisted that his servants were highly superior, and that my using his Herald for a few days would prove it. He seems to want to prove to Lady Sheridan that he has excellent houses, servants and so on. Prove his 'worth' so to speak, and he seeks my good word."
The Empress lowered her hands, the cup and saucer disappearing, as well as the leftover dust on Lady 's shoes from walking through the detritus caused from entering after Lady Witchy. "Of course, allowing his Herald to come here cost him dearly, as will my mercy in the face of such a...disappointment."
A white rose appeared in her gloved hand, and she took a moment to smell the pristine, pale flower. She walked towards Lord Habeebi, her smile still in place. "As to whether or not I saw the kiss you gave His Grace, the answer is yes." she purred, pressing a kiss to her brother's cheek--the one that the Queen of Wind and Woe did not kiss. "Brother," she said in a light, calm tone before turning and walking gracefully towards the seats of the jury.
[Dance=Lariel]
As Witchy hears , ask if she should go and investigate the crowd..."mmm, No, I don't think so, my good ghost assistant Webby..." witchy glances askance , as her minion goes flying up to through the crowd to and "oh dear" she thinks
And Double "Oh Dear" because here came Empress . Witchy thinks to herself, yah yah, she may be asking about the Herald (poor thing) but I just KNOW she's here because she saw that kiss I gave
Smiling at the Beautiful and Gracious Lady Lariel, "Dear Empress, as my Chief Chef, and Fist of my Armies, of course I would great your brother, with a small kiss on the cheek."
But the Lady had already greeted her brother, and turned away.
"Mmmmmm, we kiss each other on the cheek all the time, the Empress and I..." she looks around her, but her assistants are all busy getting the briefs and documents ready for 's case.
"Ladies, I must step out (for a few days) I do hope, Webby, Cyrosis and FAAAABulous , you'll be able to hold the fort (or in this case, Court) down. I'll be back as soon as I get this errand done. (Must pay the realm taxes you know). FAAABulous Wytchdancr, I noticed how the news vans have pulled up in front of the courthouse. Please make sure we have a statement for the Press ready."
With that, Witchy waves the hand that she carriers her Rainbow in, all the sparkles and dark matter surround her in a haze, and when they all clear, she's changed into a traveling outfit, (along with suitcase), clicks her heels together, and ⚡ she's gone.
Almost as if distracted by something shiny Avexis slowly started to float off towards a tray of 'pastries that just looked so sumptuous. Suddenly remembering his task, the whelping quickly returned to Lady and Lady with a polite bow. "Ohoh! Thank for your time ladiess!" Without another moment Avexis could be found sitting next to the tray filling his silly little face.
So much was happening all at once, Lady Cyroris collected herself. The dragoness first turned to Lady 's station. "Yes minions can be quite the hassle sometimes..." Cyroris grumbled under her breath. "Anything new pertaining to our case we should be concerned about?" Making notice of some of the programs running on Lady Wytchdancer's cyber magic system.
Shortly thereafter the Empress Lady made her grand entrance. Cyroris stood up out of respect to the Empress as she made her way towards Lady 's group. With a quick polite bow to the Lady Lauriel's response to her invitation correspondence, the dragoness watched as the Empress then continued on her way around the courtroom.
To make things far more interesting Lady Witchy dropped new news on them with her suddenly having to leave. Glancing at the Lady and the Fabulous Wytchdancer to see their reactions, Cyroris did a quick nod of acceptance to her Queen just before she vanished with the click of her heels.
Sighing dejectedly, Lady Cyroris scratched her head and looked back down at the case files. "Do we have the necessary information for the press statement?" she raised an eyebrow at her team hoping they could handle the press with ease. Before she could say anything else the dragoness could see something in the corner of her eye. Her idiotic minion was ignoring his duties and cramming his face full of pastries that were meant for the guests to the court room.
With a low snarl under her breath Cyroris' eyes started to glow red as her anger flared up. She politely excused herself from her team and made her way towards Avexis. Grabbing the whelpling by the back of his neck, Cyroris held him straight at eye level. "You useless lump of flesh and scales Avexis. Why can't you do one simple task?! You and I will be having a talk later." The little dragon didn't even squirm to escape, he knew it was futile to even try. Carrying the minion back to where she was sitting, Cyroris sat back down and rubbed her temples with her free hand trying to calm herself down. "Give me your report, there better be something of use or else...." Avexis knew if he didn't give her a report of something she wanted to hear he would get the punishment of a lifetime. Clearing his throat as he dangled there in his master's clutches the little whelpling looked over at Wytchdancer and Spiderwebby as if a plea for help.
As the Queen of Wind and Woe disappeared in a gust that sent documents flying hopelessly about the courtroom, the FABulous wytchdancr softly chuckled as those unfortunates still using hardcopy scurried about frantically trying to recover their papers. Watching as tracked down and berated the poor foolish minion, the Whisperer of Magi EX Machina decided that she had better things to do than watch the poor creature suffer. Responding to Cyrosis's query regarding the press wytchdancr told the snarling Lady "As the Queen of Wind and Woe left instructions for me to handle all statements to the press, I will see to that now and you may continue with whatever it is you need to do. Honestly though I feel quite confident regarding our case. If the court would get down to business I believe we could have cleared of this foolishness before lunch. After all, we do have a ball to be getting on with."
With that statement of supreme confidence, the FABulous wytchdancr steps outside the courthouse and past the poor Herald who was clearly in no way prepared for the powers and personalities of Queen 's court. At the top of the courthouse steps she took a breath and called in a sultry voice that was compelling to the crowd and turned all attention her way, "Ladies and Gentleman of the Press, good people of the land; thank you for your interest in our proceedings and your presence here despite your own busy lives. I have a brief statement prepared which I hope will assure you that we will find justice within today." "Cake is the right of all people, be they of noble or common birth. Cake is a joy and reward. Cake is love. People who would keep cake from us do so out of selfishness and cruelty. We believe those people cannot win and here today we are taking stand for cake on behalf of all!"
With that the crowd surges and yells their support with shouts of "CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! The FABulous wytchdancr smiles her Breaker of Hearts smile at the cheering crowd and says "Thank you all for your support." and turns to sashay back inside, her hips moving in hypnotic motions as she walks tall and confident back inside the courthouse. She looks back over one shoulder and blows a kiss at the crowd before breezing past the gaping Herald.
Woot woot! Team Fresh Cake, represent!
