Please please would some of you not mind voting for my BF Tom's restaurant in a national competition? They are in 2nd place against 7 other German bars across the country. If they win, they get $5k toward a big beer fest. Tom has worked there for 9 years and it's really a great local restaurant and has great German food and beer.

You don't have to register - just click on Newportville Inn (their photo shows a bunch of German food and beer on a table) and hit "save vote" at the bottom. Thank you for the birthday wishes and gifties <3 It was a very relaxing day and I loved every minute of it :) Dinner was good - the food was a bit meh (from now on we go to a different location) but other than that it was a great day!

Today we're finishing up some things around the year, cleaning up the pool area - it's amazing how much crap collects in there (palm fronts and trash alike). I have some running to do this afternoon, but nothing urgent. Then later I need to transplant all the orchids they got me into larger pots...just hoping I got enough orchid bedding to do so...so far 6 plants are still alive as well as the orchid tree :) We won't discuss how many I've 'terminated' - though the first handful were not my fault as I was doing everything I was 'told' to do correctly, the problem was not enough humidity inside the house...oops! Anyway, we'll see how these continue to do once they're in pots that aren't choking out the roots :)

Voted good luck. Wish there was a German restaurant around here. Lived 8 years in Germany and I miss the food. Plenty of italian, asian, indian, french, and mexican but the nearest German is 4 hours away

it sucks that there isn't a German restaurant near you. I've learned to really like German beer. :P It's an authentic restaurant too. Tom's sister-in-law is the head chef, and she's from Germany and went to culinary school there (she met Tom's brother when he was over there in the Army, then came to the U.S. to marry him).
