I had, but your gift inspired me to try again. What is Blessing of Natural Armor? Can you buy it?

is amused I had intended them to be hope for next year, but hope for right now is good too.
Another giftie on rimefrosted wings.
Thank you, dear. Okay, you're going to have to go from the concept that I know NOTHING about battling, which is true. I'm a hack and slash type fighter. So what you're saying is I need to put one type of crystal on one weapon and the other on another? Or do I need to mix the two on all the weapons? And how the heck do I use the vials?

Aha!
Some weapons have modification slots (they show as grey squares when you hover over the weapon in your armory set creation page). Some weapons don't. I dunno what kinds of weapons you have, but the higher your tier the likelier any particular weapon will have one or more mod slots.
You can mix them or not. I don't mix and choose to do two weapons for each kind of crystal because I don't want to be compelled to use the same one weapon each time because sometimes the situation demands a better response.
From your Inventory, click on the tear crystal or baguette crystal. This will open the usual item options, one option will be to Modify Weapon, choose that. Then go through your weapons until you find the ones you want to use and stick it in. Your weapon is now stronger or has a special effect. In particular, teh Blessing of Natural Armor has the special effect of a blessing that works against stealing and freezing, and lasts three turns from its random activation. The likelihood of activation is as the tear says in the Battle Shop, 10% modified by your speed score in relation to your challenger.
It is entirely possible that the crystal won't help you as if you're just a basher your speed score might not be very high. But you won't know until you try it and die a few times. As you can guess ten percent is not too much, so I have several crystals chocked at any one time to increase my odds of not being filched to death.
The crit crystal has a small chance of scoring a critical hit which will double your damage. This is sometimes multiplied by the random chance you already have to crit based on your speed to get you quadruple damage, which is how I was stomping through Gellashell's huge defense. It is much more strongly affected by relative speed than the Natural Armor one, IME. If you're not getting crits very often or at all (and there's no way to check this other than to chock the crystals in and try) then they won't help you much.
Since the Wizard is vulnerable to fire, IMO an alternative that always works instead of having to rely on chance is to chock in Fire Baguette crystals, each baguette you can chock in will give your weapon an extra 3 fire. This may or may not be enough to get him before he filches you to death.
My speed is 2552. I'm building Whisper up all the time.

your speed is the same as it, which means you could get a win or two out of it, maybe three, and those mod crystals should be effective for those two or three times because after those wins it will also be getting strong enough to just plain pound you so the chance of them working or not will be irrelevant.
Throwing Vials, you must equip directly to Whisper of the Stars. Find them in your Inventory, and you can equip one and only one TV of each type to her. They are a one use one punch weapon, like a bomb. A mercurial vial gives you a moderate chance to freeze in addition to the ice it does and the other one I gave you gives you a one-time five percent heal at the time you use it in addition to the magma damage. There are potions like Dark Fire Potion that you can equip directly to Whisper and these you can give as many multiple ones as you can stand to equip to her, but you will be using them only one per turn. Dark x Potions do eleven icons and have no special effect while some throwing vials will do more icons or will have a nice special effect. Potions and Vials are in addition to the two weapons and one scroll attack you get per turn, but they cost you something as they are each one use.
The strategy for using them depends. For mercurial if you already have a freezer and how likely the chance for it to freeze is. If you do and it's high, use the freezer first and then save the mercurial until you need a freeze to heal up or recover. If you do not or its freeze chance is weak, use the mercurial on your first turn with it. The other tv I gave you gives you a five percent heal, which at the stats of Whisper is a nice bonus heal on one turn. Save it until you get hit hard enough to worry but before he steals your main attackers. Use Dark x Potions at any other time.
A lot of that just went right over my head. I'm so stupid when it comes to understanding weapons.

oh golly I'm sorry! Do you know you have the ability to attack four times per turn? Two are weapons, one is scrolls and the other is a potion?
Weapons are in your Armory. Scrolls are in your Scroll library. Potions you must give one-by-one to your pet. Throwing Vials count as potions. Shards count as potions too, for some reason.
A simpler strategy is if you have the Gelatin Slayer and some Morosbane scrolls? They both do tons of Light each and in combination can get you some heavy damage and you may get a desperation win this way.
Okay, I'm doing my best to modify some of my weapons but the drag and drop just isn't working...
Edit: EEEE! , thank you so much!

Hooray! I am so happy for you, the fellow bear and Achievement addict squeeee squeee squeee!
Hee hee all the silly things us long time battlers know and forget about! Chocking in modification crystals: it's not a drag and drop, sorry. From your Inventory choose the mod crystal, and choose modify weapon. This will take you to a page with all your modifiable weapons. Do a ctrl+f on the page to Find your weapon, and then click on one of the shadowed crystals to the right of it, do not drag or drop. One crystal image will now appear saturated and if you have more room to chock in another crystal on that weapon, there will be shadowed crystal(s) to the right of that one.
Well, at least I won once. He creamed me the second time. It may take me years to work through him. Ah, so that's how it works! Thank you.

That would definitely be more stressful ...especially with two little ones. Are there Real Estate agents, or Property Management companies you can call? I know you're in the UK, but here in Canada those are great avenues to enquire about rental properties that those type of business people manage for private clients. The realty companies even have web pages with their available rentals listed online. As well, people I know have often put together their own flyers with all their particulars and posted them in local markets, libraries, etc. Wishing you the best of luck and hope everything is resolved for you soon! :)
the Wizard is one of the site's most difficult challengers and Whisper should feel very proud. I was only able to score three Gelaspell Scrolls this year.
Hydragellos is easier! It hits hard, but I can last up to twenty rounds with him if he is slow to use his "kill everything" attack.
that July sash is so lovely and I bet it goes well with other waterlily wears like Giselle. I had no idea it existed. Such a nice thing you got!
It is a Monthly Donation Present Item: Randomly obtained from opening a July 2007 Donation Present and I love it.

Big Congrats on your Potion Lottery win ! :)
Looks like the good-luck is contagious!
Tempest has descended from above in order to play! You receive a storm item so she can get close enough to give you a MIGHTY BEAR HUG.

Heheh, the big gun kills me every time, but I just heal and dive back in. I'll never be one of the last few taking him down though.
