- Our little house is pretty simple...small front porch...more of a stoop really :) When we first bought it was so small and we added to the back and made it more comfy. What tickles me is how much our daughter loves it. She lives in a dorm now and when she comes home she just goes on about the house...loves it. I thought she'd come home and maybe want something better...her school is in a beautiful neighborhood but she loves coming home to our little house in a neighborhood not so pretty...love that ❤
My sons are the same about our house, it was built in 1976. All out of college, and say dont sell the house. We have a good niddle class neighborhood, and good neighbors.
- You made home a great place to be - nice! :)
ho ho ho off to work I go! Wishing all you bears a great day.
My Mom had a couple of old pictures which I inherited because she liked antiques and had victorian furniture...I don't believe there was any belief but it looked artistic http://www.victoriangothic.org/the-lost-art-of-sentimental-hairwork/
Well that was fascinating to read. Shows people with talent will used any medium to create a thing of beauty.
I just know they are hard to find now.. the old victorian hair pictures. My mom was very proud to have the two she found. Have you got one or are considering taking up the old craft?
I dont have one, but should have taken up the craft. Back in 1991-1992. I had hair down past my knees, and didnt keep. Kicking myself for it too. Can you imagine how many wigs for cancer patients that could make? They didnt have a program to donate locks back then that I knew of at the time.
I was wondering do either of you find our days of living out in the field on active duty comes in handy in RL. Last couple of days, its been like that for me. We are in Sokna, Egypt last 2 days. Main water supply line broke. So we have been on limited water supply, and buying bottled water. Seems coping mechanisms (make due and march on, dont let limitations limit the mission) for the being in the military, will always be there to call on in Civilian life even though I have been out since 1984.
yes those instincts kick in when needed that is for sure i remember back in 2009 we had an ice storm and the power was out for 3 weeks at my house my son and I just acted like we were camping for a while i would build a fire in the yard and we would cook on it and everything we spent more time outside by the fire then in the house where it was a little warmer but we were having a good time lol so yea it does help ... I went in to the Army in Jan 89 and got out in Mar 94 and instincts are still Kicking lol

.. I am always sorry I threw something away sad to say. You don't use it for years... throw away and suddenly there is a use!
That will always be there.I find my med skills helps a lot.

So many of us changed at once, probably the same week. So its left everyone trying to remember whose who.
Glad to know its not only me, and who says we werent paying attention when it counted.
Sometimes I am lucky and use something I kept. Like a bunch of nice sweaters, there was no need for them in Texas. But I kept them and recently being able to use them with visit to Egypt. Really the weather is nice here now in Egypt, but once in awhile it gets cold at night.
Hey'all - we're almost done with the "just in case" paperwork should Bug be deployed. I hate hate hate this kind of thing but we have to have all insurance, education preference, and temporary custody red-tape crap sorted out or it could become a real problem. All I can say is I pray to God it's all for nothing.
Hope all's well with y'all (__)3
Hm. I've never heard of it being done but that doesn't mean that it wasn't part of creating blankets or what-have-you by the ancestors and I'm not sure who to ask. But back in early times anything that would help them survive goes, For example, to tan a deer hide the women in the village chewed it and there aint no way that's gonna happen today, least not for this Native.
What my sister's taught me that we do "now" when we gift (create) something is with each stitch, knot or bead we whisper a prayer for the person we're gifting it to. That way your prayers are bound to them.
Our Lair is proof you don't have to stand face to face to know you've got friends who stand with you when you need us.

Hi ...I sure hope it is all for nothing too. Being prepared should help...seems when we aren't prepared is when stuff happens.
I love the practice of a prayer when creating a gift...nice...I will remember to do that and soon since I need to start a crochet project for a friend.
I find the information involving your familes cultural fascinating. I thought of the question about hair, because i find that as I crochet. My hair manages to some how end up getting crocheted in, no matter how much I try to preent it. Maybe I can look at like, am I untentionally adding protection for the person I gift, or just giving away a part of me. This current project is for older son.
Hey kids! Sorry i haven't been around for shit lately, we are getting settled in Wisconsin an most of my time has been dedicated to getting the house set up (only about 40% done...shit I didn't realize we owned so much) and keeping Lia busy. She is adjusting to the move better then Amanda and I, but we are adjusting.
After 7 weeks or so now that we have been here we like it so far, it isn't home, but it is our home now.
You feel... strange[BR] OH NO. It appears that you've angered one of the residents of Shadowglen and they attacked you! [BR]You might want to get that checked out...
well I hope your ready for winter because it gets cold up there buddy wait until the snow comes I use to live in Chicago but when I got older and started to be ready to retire I moved south where it doesn't get as cold or as much snow but you will get used to it
