THanks guys!! I forgot to say that he is still only 16, and he graduated 6th in his class, after so much time being in trouble and kicked out of school. He only had a 9th grade education going into this program, and finished 6th in his class. He also has 15 hours of college credit and a NCCER certification. You can look up whatg that is, but basically it taught them, hands on, the basics of welding and construction trades. SO, at 16, he has grown up a LOT and made major accomplishments. SO now, its to help him find a job and stay on track until he turns 18 and moves on to the next step. He is thinking maybe job corp or the military, so that he can get his college paid for.

Booyah ...that is one smart young man! Sometimes the very bright ones get bored in the regular curriculum. His path looks very bright thanks to your support and a lot of dedication! Best of luck!!! :)

Today I was very proud of my young man. He has crossed a huge hurdle that I thought I would never see from him. He has finished high school, and gone a little further in his education all while learning how to take care of himself. Military programs do wonderful things for kids or people who are on the wrong track. But, I do not discredit my son for the choice he had to make to stick to this commitment and see it through to the end. But this was just the beginning of a long road. He has to take the structure he got from there and stick to it here in the real world. I know he can do it.

He is only 16, so his options are a bit limited for a while. He turns 17 at the end of July. He is planning to look for a job right now, and maybe apply to a community college nearby to get a few classes out of the way. He wants to go to college, and he is thinking about joining the military. He wants to be a pilot. But for the past couple years he has been in a lot of trouble, so he hasn't spent much time at home, and for now he plans to just work and reconnect with his family. He can join the military at 17, but he wants to wait until he is 18, and just take the next year and a half to rebuild relationships. I think that is a great idea and there are plenty of people willing to stand behind him and support him as long as he stays on the right path.
