I hope you have been taking down dates, when bites were noticed with pictures. State funding, well i would sure see that doesnt happen any more. Can the police get involved, so there is a report with the pollice, i am sure this would not look good with their state funding.

I have not documented every bite. I think my anger sort of took over my clear mind at most of those points, but I do have pictures of a couple of the times it happened, and the dates the pictures were taken should be on my phone also. I think I have at least 2 or three pictures of him with bites on separate occasions on my phone, and the pictures were all taken in the bathtub. They are not explicit, but just showing that the place where the bite marks occurred were hidden underneath his clothes, and I didn't discover them until I put him in the tub.

Good that you have some of them documented. They will be a great help to show you have reason to complain and it just wasnt one time. For sure document yesterday's bites.

- I'm so sorry to hear about your discussion with the owner. Shame on the owner and staff. I would definitely put in a call to someone in government, though I'm not sure which office you would contact. Perhaps the Department of Children and Families (DCF)? Hopefully the new daycare that you have lined up will be better for your and your boy. hugs

I got a letter from DCFS last week. Beginning July 1, childcare will no longer be under the control of the Department of child and family. It is being taken over by the Department of Education. So until then, all inquiries are taken via a recorded message, adn they are supposed to get back to you. I will call again in July to make sure I talk to a real person. And I have to wait until the end of the month to move my baby. I pray that he is safe and nothing else happens until then. Some stupid rule about having a to give a two week notice to your daycare before switching them to a new daycare.

: Well, I'm not really. It's part of an outfit for the Wayward Squirrel episode where our group builds a craft from spare parts. I'm just helping. I couldn't resist the gas welding torch.

Yes, I am a role-playing character, but I don’t bite (much.)

I tried to speed up the process. I was going to have him out of there this week. Its just the process of these daycares, in the paperwork and other red tape when you are dealing with the state. I called and I was going to register him at another daycare, but the state says that you have to give a 2 week notice before moving them to another child care facility. I told her this morning that I was finding another daycare, so I consider that my notice. As for the state, DCFS is no longer dealing with child care. The Department of Education is taking over child care. I don't know how much I like that, but there isn't much I can do about that. I have called the state to try an talk to a supervisor, but didn't get anywhere. I am going to call and leave a message for my case worker, I can tell them about the transfer and file a report at the same time. But yes, I cringe to bring him there. I wish I had someone else to keep him for the next few weeks, but I really don't have much choice. But definitely come July 1, he will be some place else. I hate leaving my kids with other people, and I am very protective of them. I know the owner of that daycare knows I am not happy with her, and she just better keep her mouth closed for the next couple weeks. And I tell you one thing, I am not paying her for the rest of the month.

True. But I seriously can't fathom paying for something I am not satisfied with. LOL. I have paid for most of the month anyway. I think I only owe $50. I guess I would have to pay if he will be going there the rest of the month. But I wouldn't pay if I were able to pull him out now.

Consider $50 just gone, the daycare could sue for more possibly. Just pay it, your the victim. You dont pay it, it gives them a chance to pretend to be a victim.

Your Welcome!! Sometimes it helps to talk to someone else, who has a different point of view that can be helpful. I hope for the best, above all your kids are the most important ones in this. My 3 boys are in the mid 20s, and I still act like a Mama grizzly bear with them.

Well this is my baby. But I know how you feel. My oldest will be 20 in September and he gets so mad at me for asking questions sometimes. But he doesn't realize I am just trying to look out for him. I have another about to be 17. He is a handful still, then my daughter turning 9 and my baby just turned 3. So I think as knowing he is my last I tend to hover a lot more. I am just so sad that he is growing so fast.

Oh each one of my boys got annoyed, I wanted to know where they were. Being so close to the Mexico border, you have to take caution. It would be so easy for them to disappear. I told them, text me if you change places. My youngest one argued the most, I put my foot down on his argument. I know they dont want to sound like babies in front of their friends at your oldest ones age, so I told them I would be happy with a text.

OH my gosh I am so sorry D: I'm glad you'll be able to move your kiddo soon! I'm with you, I hate leaving my baby with anyone! I've yet to find anyone who I can trust, something always happens even with family. :( Kids will be kids?! O.o haha... bitch-I-will-cut-you-smile Yes, yes they will, and that's why I'm paying you to supervise them. It's no problem though, I'll be reporting this to my case worker as well as the state and giving you plenty of free publicity on yelp, angie's list, facebook, google reviews, and anywhere else I see your business listing. I wouldn't want to rob you of the business you could gain, parents need to know about this wonderful facility with such a laid back, carefree atmosphere! You can't pay this week? Oh no problem, just leave your toddler at home alone with the kitchenware, same standard of care. blood boiling over wooossaaaahhh

Brings back terrible memories of my son's preschool.

Allergies Isolation and idiocy Luckily no one was outwardly physically hurting him. BUT the place made it a point to advertise PEANUT FREE as one of their selling points, but come to find out, none of them knew a damn thing about peanut allergies! They were feeding the kids snacks with peanut warnings on the label and I only found out when he came home and told me he had m&ms which pretty much all have nut warnings, and then he shared his pretzels with me the next day and the package said it right on it! I had to read it to them and teach them that it doesn't matter what food it is, you HAVE to read the ingredient list. Didn't fix the problem. And even then they would not allow me to send snacks from home for him. Thank God my son's allergy was never bad enough to cause anaphylaxis. I hope they either learned their lesson or no child is ever unlucky enough to be deathly allergic and end up at that facility. And then on top of that, the kid was really bright, already past his alphabet and learning to read and write so he was really more there for the social/learn to work in a group environment type stuff, and their solution to everything was to separate him. Can't eat the same snacks? (Even though we are "peanut free") Sit by yourself away from the food. Don't want to do circle time? Here's a plane go play in a corner. Can't focus on your coloring? Sit by yourself, away from the kids. Can't clean up cooperatively? Here's a pile for you to put away over in this corner. And when something terrible DID happen and my son hit another child, instead of handling it like normal people, they bear hugged him till he couldn't breathe, said it was 'procedure' and threatened to call the cops on him. He's barely 4, he understands that?? headdesk I gave my notice but apparently it wasn't far enough in advance and they expected yet another month's pay. When I argued, they threatened me with breach of contract. I really wanted to send back a list of ways they were in breach the entire time but my mom talked me into just paying them and washing my hands of it. It took everything I had not to send them a nice long ugly letter full of their flaws along with it. And the owner still had the nerve to request me on facebook....
I'm not sure she fully understands how fucked up she was... or maybe she doesn't remember, I'm probably just one on a long list. As it probably is with the owner of your daycare. I'm so sorry your kiddo had to go through that. I hope the next place is much safer and the people actually care! <3
