Subeta does offer to refund CSC if the actual price changes within ten days of buying something, so I don't think the actual sales really need to be announced (I mean, I'm not against them deciding to announce it because it would probably be more efficient than having to do all the refunds).

But yeah, it is definitely an "ARGH KICKING MYSELF 5EVER" thing if they throw in a bonus weekend right after you buy some CSC, so I get why people would be annoyed if they put their money into the site and then six hours later it's like "oh btw here's a 20% increase and a sweet wearable!" On the one hand, I get why you wouldn't want to extend the bonuses to people who bought before the promotion starts because then what's the point of limiting the promotional items at all, but on the other hand it is a bit of a slap in the face, especially if that's a repeat customer who put their monthly contribution in just to miss out on the bonuses by like one day.

I'm not sure there's a good way to resolve it, honestly. Even just not having bonus weekends ever again is probably not an option -- I know I just dropped money into the site for the first time to get the promo jacket, so clearly the promotion is working -- so I'm not sure what to do. Maybe if you have sufficient stamps on your loyalty card or if Subeta has records of you repeatedly buying CSC when there isn't some kind of sale on they could give you a three-day grace period or something? Seems like that might be a half-decent compromise to me.

It wouldn't hurt to get a message in my email announcing something like that,or even Facebook.A little warning below the card announcing that it will be expiring within a week would be nice for those who can't come on everyday.

This sounds like it would open a whole new can of worms. I can already imagine the angry feedback threads about people getting special VIP treatment.

Thank you for understanding where I'm coming from. I'm a pretty busy adult, as I know some other users are. Subeta should be maximizing the contact with their customers... not having one little news announcement about it :) where is the twitter update etc.

Yes, but I feel like I missed out because I wasn't properly formed, don't you think thats going to decrease the change of me buying in the future? I've acknowledge I missed the news announcement...this isn't just a game, its an ecommerce business for someone... and I'm pretty certain (seeing as I work everyday on improving site conversion rate and I'm pretty good at it), that successful ecommerce business don't hide their promotions in one small announcement, they scream and shout about it from every possible medium because they understand that their customers are busy and customers behave differently, and they want to maximise informing people.

You guys might check the news everyday; some of us don't have the time to or use other mediums. Pretty sure their Google Analytics data should be given them information on this sort of different behaviour so they can maximise conversion. You can't just have one marketing tactic for a large group of people, you need to make it diverse to suit different user requirements.

You were properly informed, at the time you bought csc there was no extras, some time later there was extras. Staff have said numerous times that they DO NOT want to incentivize waiting to buy csc, but instead things like that are a way to reward people who buy MORE csc, which is all it ought to be. If you're that concerned with it, chalk this one up as a loss and adopt a policy of only buying csc during times with extra incentives... And I wouldn't exactly call this site an ecommerce business lol. I mean of course an argument could be made for it, but it's certainly not near the top of a list of words I'd use to describe it in any sense.

One regular complaint from users is that there isn't enough communication from staff. There are very few news posts. It does not take long at all to look through them.

I only buy csc with real money when there are sales like this on or additional items with purchase, for me thats the only time its worth it. (I buy csc with sp other times i'm just referring to real money here)

Also I have been to shops where they say "hey if you come in on blah blah we are having a sale on these items" yes they are doing themselves out of a sale but they are hoping that it will only delay the purchase and turn into further purchases because of the great deals

Theres a reason shops advertise their sales on tv in advance ;) also stops peeps from spending their 'pocket money' on other things (or other places), if they know its coming they may forgo the hotdogs and buy csc instead!

Makes sense to me

I know staff have had problems communicating with users in the past, but I'm not sure "I'm busy and have limited time for Subeta" is the site's fault or that they should be expected to cater to that to such a degree that they have to post about things like retirements on other websites (like OP's Twitter suggestion implies). I don't consider it the site's or staff's fault if a user doesn't have two minutes to scan news posts, especially if they have the time to read about the site on Twitter. The information's here, and it's up to the user to take note of it, because it's not exactly being hidden from us.

I guess if it's such a problem I could support staff putting a "card expires x day" notice on the Rewards Card page, but the news posts and the retirement thread and others have mentioned has always been enough for me personally. The information takes less than five minutes to find.

And I don't expect staff to announce bonuses before they happen, if that's the problem here. OP implies they wouldn't have bought CSC when they did if they'd known there'd be a bonus, and that they would've held off, but I think staff probably wants to avoid exactly that? I'm not sure how good it'd be for the site to encourage users to only buy CSC when they're being given bonuses for it and that's what I'd expect to happen if they went around giving announcements about it ahead of time.

Sorry if I've missed your point, or something, but this is my take on the issue.

If you have time to buy CSC and spend CSC and then use whatever you spent the CSC on, you have time to read the news. There isn't that much posted daily. And as a daily user of Subeta, I don't want to have to see the same 'SPEND YOUR MONEY ON SUBETA' news posts over and over just because some users think they are too busy to read the news regularly.

So much negativity in this thread! Just because someone missed out an announcement doesn't make them stupid.

What it comes down to (and what some other users mentioned) is that when you purchased the CSC you decided it was worth it for you to buy then. We add a bonus over irregular weekends to spur the people who wouldn't otherwise buy CSC (or see it as a worthy purchase) to maybe spend $5 that month instead of $0.

You got what you were paying for, but in the case of price changes (not bonus weekends) we do refunds.

Do you have a little stamp or a big stamp? The bigger stamps (the first big one has Fantine on it) have the items attached to it. I believe the first item is Lovely Box of Cupcakes.
