She needs a quirk. An obsession, a phobia, something to add dimension...or she could have a taboo because of her rank as Vestal...some vestals were not allowed to step on shadows, I know that one, but we can get creative here...it is also a way you can put something of yourself into her character...

How's this: When she is feeling melancholy, especially when she misses her brother, she sneaks away to a quiet garden with a pool to reflect the moonlight, and plays a wooden flute.
Not really a quirk, maybe that's just another tidbit of character. I need to go read an article about Vestals.
Meh. Why get too bothered with facts. Read if you really want to, certainly, but don't let history interrupt your fantasy...I like the playing a wooden flute and gazing into a spring. But we still need a quirk-something very very unique only to her. A favorite shawl or veil she always wears? A phobia of repeating herself? An unimaginable love of olives?
OK, I've read about Vestals, and they are sun worshipers. I think the goddess she'd most relate to is Selene.
OLIVES HAHAHAHAHAH that's hilarious. Ok, back to business. Um. This is a bit of a Hunger Games ripoff, but how about a pin she wears? Her brother gave it to her before he left to train with the army, and it's her way to keep him close to her although they are very far apart now.
Let's make it a string of pearls-more moonlike...
Vestals actually are sacred to Vesta the Hearth Goddess, and could be either dedicated to Apollo (the Sun) or Diana (The Moon) so Vestal still works, but if you like Selene better that works, too.
Oh well gosh, how'd I miss that part? LOL Vestal is good, more people will be familiar with that.

Does the telescope still make sense with that story? It seems a bit modern for a Vestal.
There were instruments very like modern telescopes used in Greece and Rome...different, but same idea...like I said, don't let history interrupt your fun! Maybe there is a sextent on Subeta or an Astrolabe-both of those would have been used then...
Okey dokey. Do you think we should keep going with her, or move on to another pet?
Are you content with her at this stage? Or would you like to do a bit more with her while we are here?
I'm content with her for now, but I think I'd like to develop her story more another day. It's getting close to bedtime. 😉
Imo is going to be tough, I have no real idea what I'm doing with him except gourmand. As far as his relationship with the other two, I'm open to suggestions.
