Why dont BQs and MDQs give out new year tokens? They cant be more unpopular than cynthia. If its because there are twice as many quests to do than regular quests cant their NYT rate be twice as rare or something? Its quite a bummer that those two quest givers are not included!

It would definitely be nice if they could give them out. They ARE quests, after all!

I think the quests that give out QPs and NY tokens have a special coding that makes it easy to give out them, and mentioned that they might be added to the Free Shop

I got like 30 tokens today which seems pretty good.

I mean I got upwards of 40 tokens when I quested yesterday, and I didn't even have a GA activated then so that I could do the extra quests. That seems like a pretty nice amount of tokens, and it was more than I was expecting to get, given that I was limited to ten quests per quest-giver, and a token isn't guaranteed. HOWEVER, I need a huge fuckton of items from the NY shop. (I get it - pick and choose, you aren't meant to get everything etc etc. I get it already.) So even if I can understand why the tokens might not be added to BQs and MDQs, and would probably be fine if they weren't, I'd still love it if they were.

A question for any staff who might be reading this and happen to know the answer: Are we going to get floaters this year? We had them last year, and I'm kind of curious, since I believe New Years Tokens and floaters became active together last time?

I think they aren't available from those because they are not the "bring me 1-4 items" quests. You have to fulfill different requirements. I got over 50 tokens yesterday. I don't think it is necessary. They aren't on the list to be weekend quests and there are so many compared to the normal list.

Ugh, I'd hate this. :/ I feel like it'd turn into another Snow Fairy situation, which is no fun. I'd rather, if suddenly they had to be given out in some way other than quests, that they be floaters or achieved through actions like candy hearts are through kissing. Really not wanting to have to deal with a form of currency given out via RE, unless that's in addition to quests.

A big reason for why I am in favor of bringing back NY tokens to Major Drills is because if you look at the prices of Library/Pete quest items, it is clear that they are headed on their way towards overinflation (some commons/normals seem to be on their way to becoming more expensive than the NY tokens themselves). Some inflation control helps. Plus it gives a bit more variety to the way tokens can be given out.

I donly think major drills should be included this year since he was last.

Yeah I definitely noticed today that Pete and Library quests were becoming increasingly more costly to do, I had to quit about 3-5/15 of those based on outrageous prices (over 100k per item)-- and I know I forked over about 75k per quest on many of both Pete's and Maleria's.

Perhaps rare+ items can be removed from quests for the duration of the NY Tokens run? I'd say drop the item's requested to only 1, but that hasn't actually helped the Library at all so I don't know if that'd help the others much either.

Also I wouldn't mind the tokens being rewarded by Major Jerkface, as long as I don't have to do them; I'd rather pay 100k a quest to everyone else than do any of his quests. I don't think they should be added to BQs, the whole point of those is EXP.

Perhaps the combination of those factors are even more reason to give Drills NY tokens.

I think another factor is the recent release of very expensive winter Quest Shop items! People are doing a lot more quests to purchase those new items, and then add in the New Years tokens. Makes for expensive quests :(

I'd love to see Major Drills join the celebrations somehow, either by giving out tokens or receiving a stock of retired items not in the NY shop :)
