It may take 1 speed ? The odds would be as low with 1 speed as with -2000 speed compared to your opponent's though.

^ you can. but its rare.
just did it, took ~20 battles against the worm
probably gets rarer as opponents become more difficult
Except if you did that on the highway, you'd probably get hit as well D:

would it not make sense to take out your opponent avoiding your crits with their speed and have speed be a linear stat where 0 speed = 0% crit chance and max speed = max crit chance (idk 20%? something not overpowered, that number is just something I didn't put much thought into) then remove crit from the cap and cap it separately? idk I think this way sounds better, I'm sure you two would pick it apart.
they don't have those signs on the highway though D:
Congrats on 10k intel!
Got no booster from Shinwa, but Quentin gave me 3 amulets, two of which became tomes, so I'm not complaining. :P
Personally, I just hope that whatever gets done with speed doesn't wind up messing up how I play too bad. xP Beyond that, I don't really have a preference.
I mostly disagree and I'm not sure why you'd want to take it out of the stat cap but I don't want to get into this debate for the five thousandth time. I'm out

taking it out of the cap makes it less likely for people to just ignore it completely, which I think is their issue with it. idk, they could leave it the same for all I care as long as they notified us one way or the other.
Found a coin on the ground and used it:
Coin Machine Lhyven has gained 1 intelligence point!
Second coin in 2 days to give me an intel point. Awesome.

Wow congrats again on the int! I usually get "your pet is full" from those things x)
Purge recently said that he changed the way that crit hits work, so that now any pet does have a chance of scoring a crit.
I think it would also be better if the number of critical hits were higher, but that magnitude lower, but that would also require a lot of rebalancing of opponents, because the swings in their damage that critical hits normally account for would need to be accounted for in a variable number of icons from the weapons themselves. But it would also give the BC admins better control over the variability of opponents.
I think removing it from the stat cap would also be decent as a standalone idea, but combined with static opponents speed, and an on/off mechanic, it would get pretty stale pretty quick.

I must say that I'm very proud of my pet Boxy, she just completed all 30 battle quests for the first time.
Congrats! it's a great feeling to be able to finish them all :)
on/off mechanic only affects pets with 0 speed, it essentially makes speed a more understandable stat instead of right now where it's sorta complicated o-o
Thank you so much. It does feel good that my pet finally has been able to do this.
Last I heard speed greater than opp speed means you can crit hit, less means the opponent can crit.
But then they added something so that either player can potentially crit in any given battle.
Thats what I describe as being the on/off mechanic, because as soon as your speed is less than the opponents, any benefit that it has turns off.

I don't recall the exact numbers for crit rates anymore. The actual chances of crits has not been changed, but who gets them does depending on the speed difference. If your pet has a higher speed, you get all the crits. If the your speed is lower than the opponents, you still have a chance to get a crit, and the chance is dependent on the difference of speed between your pets and the opponents.
We definitely intend to make speed static for the opponents. This will require a change to all of the opponents base speed stats though. 50-100% increase most likely. (And no, there will not be an opponent reset because of this).
We've also been mulling the idea of the speed difference affecting the actual damage multiplier for crits. That's a pretty low priority though. Static speed and the half dozen other things we want come first :P
Ah that way I do not like. I don't want crits to become something you need to rely on or need to be able to withstand in order to survive. They should just be a nice bonus.
Quentin was mean again today...no amulets....I did however do my BQ's, so that is a plus. two days in a row.

If you do that, speed will almost definitely be worth using. Only thing I would say is that if you go that route, I would probably cap it at 100% increase in damage or something so in an extreme example, GE wouldn't end up critting a 10hp pet for 5mil or something insane like that.
If the crits end up going too high, it would end up being a mandatory stat, instead of something that could potentially increase the number of different builds.

Does anyone know how many crystals one needs for the Universal Remote?
Now that we can frag 160 and 175, I'm going through my vault and fragging items for the next time that item comes out but want to know how much to save? Thanks in advance.
