I only got 2 calls, so not really! I was quite happy with that, actually :) They let me have a nice long break from work stuff. It was one of the best holidays seasons I've had in ages - being a 'grown up' the holidays never seem quite so fun, but having no work was nice!
Morning guys! Anyone around to chat?

I'll be here off and on throughout the day~ I'm working on the paper but there's a lot of little downtime. ^^ How are you this morning?
<3
Haha, same here. The benefits of working at a company where you have constant internet access, eh?
Dude, it's been awhile! How have you been?

Hi hi!
I'm in south america o: Thank youu! I did, I'm starting my classes on March! u Oh hahaha xD
You did a good job with it :*
Doing well. I have my german test soon so I'm revising for that.
Oh, that's really good! Yeah, it's harder to keep the spirit when you're the one doing everything aha.
That does sound really good actually! Pretty fun! And if you get to do your own thing that's pretty great :)
Very much so. It's the first time I've had the luxury & it's nice to not feel so isolated. Actually, I am fortunate enough to actually work with my boyfriend & he helps me with my job quite a bit. o/ So I'm not even lonely at work!!
I do like making ads, especially when I get to put my own touch on them.
<3
Oh you actually make the ads as well? :o I though people would pay to put ads in the paper that they'd already made.
Only a few of our advertisers have ads they get made elsewhere. For example, a Hospital here called Vidant has a marketing company make theirs and they pay to run it in our paper.. But smaller businesses, like local stuff, they pay and we make an ad for them with what they want in it. I used to think that about ads too until I worked here. I have learned a lot for sure.
My boyfriend has actually won awards in Virginia for his ads.
<3
Oh I see :o I guess it's a local newspaper then. I suppose if it was a bigger paper more people would have ads ready.
Really! That's awesome! You two work together then?
i know! i've been very well, thank you. i got a job at a textile studio (recycling fabric from old clothes into pillows and such) and i've been reconnecting with old friends irl. how about you, how have you been?
ohh that makes sense. did you manage to snag any classes that you like?
thank you! i like yours too, very mysterious.
Yeah, I work for a different paper out of his office though. ^^ We also run magazines and other stuff a few times a year, this year I get to try my hand at designing / laying out one.. It's intimidating!
<3
I don't have to snag classes o: I chose Astronomy (yay!) and I have certain subjects "attatched" to this carreer, I can't choose the subjects o: If that's what you meant? x:
Hey!How is everyone? I'm not sure how many of you knew this about me, but I came out to my dad today. (I like women and men) He actually took it a lot better than I thought he would! So it feels nice :)
Thanks :D
That sounds like a fun job :o Is it actually?
Connecting with old friends is very good. It's so hard to keep in contact.
Ooo, that's cool. That way you can each do your own thing, but help each other out :D A magazine! That's totally awesome!!
Remind me whereabouts you live? (I'm guessing the US somewhere but I could be totally wrong lol)
Oh so you have no optional classes? At uni I had some classes I HAD to do, and then I could choose like, a language class, or whatever.
I'm glad he took it well :D I remember you saying you came out to your mom and she was cool with it, but I hadn't realised you hadn't told your dad :o It must be nice that everyone knows now :)
It really is nice! I don't feel like I have to monitor myself as much now. My parents have been divorced since I was 3, and I live with my mom. So I see my dad every few weeks, usually. He's a lot more strict and close minded, so I wasn't excited to tell him. He said he doesn't agree with it, but he loves me anyway.
I live in Virginia, though the paper I put together is based in North Carolina :3

i think i heard someone say it worked like that (you pick a certain set of classes and the amount of people who can sign up for each class is limited) in the usa but i have no idea if it actually does or if it works like that elsewhere. astronomy sounds amazing though! that's a really interesting career choice.
congrats on coming out! i'm glad it went well c:
it is, it's an amazing job. low expectations (which is good bc i get nervous pretty easily) and suuuuper creative.
yes c: the girls i met up with i hadn't seen since high school (which was about six years ago, yikes) so we all thought it might be weird, but it was exactly the same.
what have you been up to? (:
