Haha yeah, I'll have to try not to make hours overlap, and still try to have at least one day off a week for my sanity xD How are you??
Have you started your new job yet?
Yeah, they're all pretty ugly and snotty looking now. I guess not being pretty is the point of being a zombie, haha. I think we must be almost done, so I'm excited to get a new one.
Yay for the contest being back on track. Good to know you didn't put any effort in for nothing. This is why I'm scared to host a contest - I would be a huge flake if work got in the way.
I'm still missing the avatar skin too - I was trying to get it last year, it was the one that got away -oh well, next year!
I don't remember Gooze - please explain though, it sounds entertaining :P I grew up with slightly different TV show (in Canada) kids shows are the one area where we don't have almost exclusively American TV
Staying in = my favourite type of night.
I know I'm kind of over this strain, too. I've gone from 'ooh it's kind of moss like' to 'well now I'm covered in snot.'

I did last Friday! And.. uhh.. well it's really not what I thought. I'm actually super down about it. I thought I was going in to be a part of the management team and one of the front desk girls told me 2 days ago that all front desk staff are hired as "spa managers" but you're just a receptionist.. and their turnover rate is REALLY high. Only 2/6 front desk staff have been there over 4 months. And I asked in my interview about that and the owner told me it was really low... So essentialy I feel really duped and angry that I moved myself further downtown and am WAY exhausted when I get home for basically less than what I was doing before.
Aww :( That's understandable that you're upset - sounds like they did purposely dupe you, especially with that title. But at least you have a good title at a nice spa? So when you do decide to move again, that'll be on your resume and look good?
Do you know what strain of virus you have btw - it doesn't look like any of the new ones :O

Yep, we'll try again this year! It's during Morostide right? o: I think I didn't try the skin zapper last year xD
Well.. it won't really look good on a resume 'cause I'm NOT doing anything managerial. It really doesn't seem worth the exhaustion and long days for the 1.50 more an hour if there's no room for me to take on more. I'm going to stick it out a few months, though and then talk to my boss and let her know that I was under the impression that I was going to be taking on more... so we'll see. I'm really frustrated though.. cause I KNOW I'm GREAT at what I do and anywhere would be lucky to have me.
I have Stinger? I think? I drank a potion to get it!
Gosh D: I'm sorry the job isn't what you thought it would be D: That does sound pretty annoying :( Is it at least better pay than your old job? You have more hours right? (not that that's great if you're not happy with what you're doing)
Keeping one's sanity is definitely impotant!
I want to be a pretty zombie though :( Lol. I'm so glad this one's almost over.
Ah well. that's true. Counting the kisses must be a pain aha.
Yeah it's 1.50 more an hour than I was making before, and yes I have more guaranteed hours.. however earlier this week I got cut early 'cause it was quiet.. so I'm worried that might be a regular thing.
Aw :/ And having to do 2h bus ride a day certainly doesn't make it easier.
Are the others there nice at least?
Well your previous work environment didn't seem so great, so maybe any change is a good change, even if it wasn't all you were hoping for.
And like Kristy said, it seems like a nice high end spa, so good for your resume :D
I think you'd be surprised. When people see a title like 'manager' they have assumptions about what that means, and what is actually done isn't as important as you might think. If it's a good workplace, they'll address your concerns and help you figure out how to move forward.
But I'm 100% with you on being upset about employers duping employees about what they'll be doing - I find it happens in smaller businesses a lot. It happens at my work, when my boss hires interns. She makes them think 'advertising' = billboards and huge brands. But what we really do is web-marketing for small no-name businesses, so interns feel completely duped and hate it. If she was honest, we could find people who are interested in web-stuff, but she's deluded herself and won't admit we're a small web agency.
I figured out a good way to count kisses! Use the kissing achievement if you haven't finished them. Subtract how many you started with, and voila ;D I still have 700 to go, so that'll last me for a bit!
I know, one more stage, I think?

That doesn't sound like the best strategy to get people interesting in working with you :/
AND OMG WE'VE GOTTEN EVEN MORE SNOTTY.
Yeah it was definitely a way out of a really crappy job.. so that's good I suppose. I'm going to try and just be really good at my job so maybe my director will see I have potential and will give me a little more responsibility. Tell your boss it's annoying xP And thats why staff members get disgruntled!
You've earned the Someone likes you! achievement! Yay! Top tier for being kissed!
Positive outlook is good :D That sounds like a good plan!
Grats!
I vote wait till you leave to tell your boss that XD
OMG That's genius! Except I got it last year already D:
Getting out is good - at least you're getting full-time hours? If you put in effort hopefully in a few months you'll be rewarded - or able to move on with your head high.
It's not worth the hassle to be honest. My boss was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her dad basically finances the company, which exists solely for her ego and because she couldn't work for another company (she comes in like 2 hours a day and does nothing). She seriously actually believes 'her business' is more important than it is. That is why I'm looking for a way out. I'm tired of this work drama.
It's very wrong. In the few times I've been put in charge of hiring interns, I'm upfront about what we do. What's the point in lying? They'll just figure it out once they start working here. Might as well make sure we have interns who actually want to/can contribute to the work - otherwise what's the point of having them?

Trying to be positive at least.. it's proving difficult :( And thanks! Where are you at with Survival achievements?
I am full time, yes.. well.. scheduled at least. Like I just mentioned I got sent home early Tuesday 'cause it was quiet and it looks like that might be a regular occurrence :/ And yeah.. that's the plan. Either get promoted or PEACE.
Omg that sounds exactly like my old owner. SHE WAS AWFUL. I'm pretty sure her husband just bought her the business cause she was bored at home being a socialite, haha.
That's understandable, especially given what you were told in the interview. It just sucks that it didn't turn out to be what you were hoping for, because it sounded so promising.
It really irritates me that people like us bust our butts trying our damnedest to get a regular job that we can be proud of and make a living off of, yet there are people like our bosses (or former boss) who just get stuff handed to them and then abuse that power to trap poor unsuspecting employees when there's no reason for it.

Wow. She sounds like a shitty boss. And yeah, I'm sure people would be more motivated if they were doing what they were told they'd be doing, what they wanted to be doing D:
Well, we're here for morale boosting whenever you need :* I'm pretty much done with all of them :o Went a bit crazy last year XD
