In the festively wrapped box is a key and an old battered journal. Most of the pages are too faded to make out anything, the pages that are legible range from old recipes to doodles and poorly written poetry. Nothing very interesting. However upon closer investigation the lining on the inside cover seems to have been recently replaced. Tearing it out you will find a scrap pf paper with a code on it that looks as if it was written out fairly recently.</p>

<p>When looking closely at the key also seems to hold a secret. The words &;Back to Front&; are engraved in tiny letters on it&;s surface.

A new package arrives at your doorstep, just as festive and cheery looking as the last. Inside are three items: an old fashioned feather quill, a candle, and a fluffy blanket. There&;s no accompanying note with them however setting the box down near the first provides a strange reaction. The quill leaps from it&;s confines and heads strait for the notebook from the first box. It flips it to a blank page and begins to write. The handwriting is messy but it&;s legible enough.</p>
<p>Hello my friend. As you may have already deduced it is I, Jeremiah Frost writing to you once again. If you&;ve never heard of me before... then please refer to my previous package and simply read each line backwards. I also must apologize for the rather cryptic message. I was in a bit of a panic and didn&;t really put down as much information as I should have.</p>
<p>I suppose I need to explain first what exactly I am, as well as the one I referred to as the Winter Beast. We are both Snow Sprites, and somewhat similar to the Snow Fairies you see flitting around this time of the year, though we&;re quite a bit taller. Normally we don&;t have all that much power. Sprites such as myself are usually limited to doing things like frosting over windows and making sure fresh fallen snow sparkles and glimmers in the light. I have a few more tricks then most though, as you can see with the pen moving on it&;s own and all, though nothing all that big.</p>
<p>But then there are some Sprites who are born with considerably more terrifying powers. The one we now call the Beast is one of them. He can summon terrible storms and ice over an entire city in moments if he wants. His heart is cold as stone and he cares nothing for the consequences. Worst of all he can shapeshift, you never know who are where he is. Which is why I&;ve been so cautious up to now with the code (a simple one, but he has no patience for such things) and now with the enchanted pen. I can&;t risk this falling into his hands and tracing it back to me.</p>
<p>There aren&;t as many Snow Spites around as there should be right now, and I believe he&;s the cause. It was my cousin, another Sprite obviously, who originally sealed him up in a magical prison a long time ago. That cousin is pretty famous, you might have heard of him. He&;s even got a line in a song about nipping at noses or some nonsense. He&;s one of the powerful Sprites. But even he&;s nowhere to be found. I hope he&;s just laying low for now.</p>
<p>I don&;t have the magic to face the Beast but I am at least trying to warn as many as I can about him, especially those who might just have a bit of Sprite somewhere in their ancestry. Keep the candle I sent with you close at hand. I&;ve enchanted it a bit. If you feel yourself in the presence of someone with an unfathomably cold aura, light it and it should provide a quick burst of heat. Hopefully enough to momentarily stun him so you can get away.</p>

A third package arrives at your doorstep in just the same manner as the previous two. Inside is a mirror that seems to have been broken during shipping and a pile of snow that glows and shimmers a little. One might wonder why the snow has yet to melt... but there&;s probably some Sprite magic about. There&;s not too long to ponder about it because the mirror begins to glow and a blurred blobby image appears within it accompanied by a tapping sound. After a moment the image sharpens and the figure becomes much clearer.

-lo? Hello? Can you hear me? This is Jeremiah-wait, is that a crack? Don&;t tell me I forgot the bubble wrap... I just knew I was missing something. I had hoped to open a two way line between us... but alas one just can&;t talk out of a broken mirror. Maybe I should just invest in a cell phone after this mess is over with... Anyways, I believe you should still be able to see and hear me at least. Which is good because I&;ve got something of great importance for you to do.</p>
<p>You&;ve probably noticed the snow in your box, right? And I know what you&;re thinking, and no, I didn&;t sneeze in there. The idea that Snow Sprites sneeze snow is just crazy and I have no idea where the idea even came from... Um. Anyways moving along. That snow there is stuff I&;ve imbued with as much of my power as I can muster up. I mentioned before that most of us Sprites don&;t have a whole lot of magic right? Well sometimes a whole lot of magic might not necessarily be needed, just a whole lot of help.</p>
<p>You see, you&;re not the only one I&;ve reached out to. All together the number of people I&;ve implored for help equals two hundred. And to each one of those people I&;ve sent a handful of that magical snow. I&;ve been doing some research and I came across a technique to make a sort of magical net that will only work on the person the spell caster&;s looking for. Normally it&;s done by enchanting snowflakes and linking them up with magic to ensnare something, and it certainly works on a small scale. I don&;t know where the Beast is, but he&;s causing trouble already. The forest where most of us Sprites live has be completely iced over and most of my friends have fled to all corners of Subeta. I think he wants us all gone in case one of us has the power that my cousin has...</p>
<p>But I can&;t panic now. If he finishes us off I just know he&;s going to drop Subeta into a winter like it&;s never seen before. So let me tell you what you need to do. That enchanted snow I gave you? Sprinkle a bit wherever you can. The more spots it&;s in, the bigger and wider my net can become. Two days from now I&;m going to cast the spell and hopefully... hopefully I&;ll at least be able to find and track the Beast. In the best case scenario I might even be able to tangle him up long enough so I can safely search for Jack so he can deal with him.</p>
<p>I just hope this works... I need to tell the rest this as well. I just hope ALL the mirrors didn&;t break. Stay warm, my friend.</p>
<p>The image fades and soon the mirror is dark once again.

A new package arrives, just as festive as the first three, however there&;s something a bit wrong about this one. Perhaps the delivery service is slacking off because an entire corner is just completely destroyed. It almost looks chewed up. Hopefully it wasn&;t the neighbor&;s dog or something.</p>
<p>Inside the package is complete disarray as well. There&;s a broken bottle, though this time it can&;t be do to poor packaging as the box is FULL of packing peanuts. Whatever was in the bottle appears to be long gone as well. There&;s also a note... or what remains of a note, that too seems to be torn asunder. The last item is a snowball. Though not just any snowball. This one has nasty sharp teeth that it gnashes the second its touched. Whatever magic seems to be making it move however soon runs out and it falls still after a terrifying moment. Your fingers have been saved! Which is good because you need to piece together what&;s left of that note.</p>
<p>Some of the bits have been destroyed beyond recognition there&;s enough of it left to get a general gist of it.</p>

<p>Some time shortly after the package&;s arrival a single snowflake, perhaps a leftover from the batch that was sent last time floats in and lands on your cheek. If you&;re paying attention the faint words &;He&;s too strong...&; echoes in your ear.
