Back in October I posted asking about pregnant wearables here: http://subeta.net/forums.php/read/816051/Pregnant-wearable/1

Right now the only pregnant wearables we have are the polka-dotted maternity shirts and those don't look very pregnant. Can we get some that look more pregnant or that transform?

Pinging those who commented on the other thread. .white.Chocolate

No support. It's a short jump from 'give me wears that make me look pregnant!' to 'I only have one arm, give me a one armed HA!'

No thanks. Even when the shirts were shiny and new the were hardly used. It's such a small niche that I would rather the artists focus on other things that a larger portion of the site will enjoy/use.

Well I think it's really sad that some people think it's not important. I wrote a fairly long response and then I just erased it because I got way too passionate about the issues of people who may or may not represent a small niche, and I went off topic. I will merely say that I think that as the users of subeta age there may be a LOT more women who want maternity wearables. A lot of women are waiting until they're in their 30's to have children these days so perhaps, eventually, this will not BE such a small niche. I really don't know. I'm not sure what the demographic breakdown IS here. I know that I am an oddity (at age 59) and there are only a very small percentage of users over 50. In 6 months I will join the very few who are 60 plus (I have met a few who are a year or two older)

I am not looking for wearables to represent my age bracket. If I were NOT overweight I'd still be wearing the same types of clothing I wore when I was 25. I refuse to dress like an "old woman" even now. But I think a LOT of people here enjoy the fantasy of dressing their HA in ways that they absolutely do NOT and cannot look in their real lives.

However, if I were young and pregnant I would want to celebrate that look in my HA. I was never able to have children and I'm VERY sad about that. I can only say that I hope you can find someone to create a few awesome CW's and I believe that there would be at least 10 people who would want a slot. I hope I'm not wrong about that. I might buy one myself, just for posterity, though it might make me too sad. I'm very sad that I never had the opportunity to be pregnant or breast feed, (and all the rest) and I was also never able to adopt (for a lot of reasons that I am not going to go into)

I simply wish you the best and I don't know what else to say. I have a LOT of other stuff on my mind regarding my gov't benefits from social security and I'm sort of a mess (actually I'm a HUGE mess) and not even sure why I'm posting here. I guess it's because it's something that I feel is important and I wanted to show my support.

Yes. Pregnancy is beautiful and necessary and why shouldn't we have a few clothing items to celebrate it here on Subeta? I don't get the argument against it at all.

The polka dot shirts have never looked very pregnant to me at all.

At the very least those could be revamped, with the addition of a few solid-color "bump" shirts. I really love the idea. It's crazy to me that we don't have them already, honestly.

edit: I wanted to add that with the revamp, the bump should be made much larger and slightly more 'pointy' and tilted up slightly at the belly button to give it that real "yes this is a baby in here" look. examples:

edit : okay I just have to say here that pregnancy is not a disability what the shit even? just... what

At the temple, there is a poem called "Loss" carved into the stone.
It has three words, but the poet has scratched them out.
You cannot read Loss, only feel it.

As long as people understand that they aren't going to layer properly with other stuff, I don't think it's much of a problem.

As for the argument how many people are going to actually wear them, I think that you fould argue the same point with like 50% of the holiday stuff that comes out, or even most of the color fill restockables.

I think it would be good to have a couple of items as "maternity wear". If I was pregnant I would like to have a pregnant avatar just as a bit of a celebratory thing. Even just 1 or 2 dresses and one or two different tops would be good; it wouldn't have to be many.

Supporting this :) As far as the handicapped argument goes..We do have a wheel chair wearable. (And I honestly don't see the harm in a whiteout that takes away limbs anyways?) I really want kids so I'd love to have any kind of clothing that shows pregnancy.

I can't believe I have to clarify this, but the one-arm argument was an arbitrary example in opposition to anything that makes changes to the HA base, not a comparison between pregnancy and disability.

Unfortunately it doesn't work the same way. I think explained it awhile back that the HA bases are like paper dolls, so removing something like an arm or leg isn't possible unless it it blocked out.nnKind of like the peg leg item does, where the water blocks what would normally be the HAs footn

I agree with this comment by Jen. I think it is really a small segment of users that would utilize these, I know I would have absolutely no desire to use anything that made me look pregnant... maybe this would be something better suited for the CW market...?
