Okay, so we have the opt-out for harvesting, now can we have it for snowballs? I put the snowball shield on and still sometimes these snowballs get through. I spend hours a day making my HAs and it really really bothers me for these snowballs, especially one combo which literally has me shaking. I dont feel that the snowballs should be mandatory and I for one would love to opt-out.

This gets brought up all the time, and I am completely against it.

During the harvest unless you opted out you were stuck with a pretty horrific looking HA. Snowballs have a shield option that very rarely lets snowballs through, as well as the option (when the MC rolls around) to use , which I hope can be added somewhere else so people can more easily buy them.

The snowball doesn't permanently alter your HA in anyway, and I think it is a seasonal activity that is fine as is.

Bring the hairdryer back, that's it .. I usually just gently comment the user to not pursuit the assault (otherwise, I'll fight back and I'm ready .. like really). No thanks. I think the hairdryer should be brought back consistently from the beginning of Luminaire, but I really am against an opt-out option (the option for harvesting was because blood and guts squicks some people out. Snowballs don't)

I'm against an opt-out option, but I think the time where the snowball stays visible should be decreased. I have the shield and still get hit fairly often (especially being active in the SB), and honestly, the fact that the snowballs stay visible for a good THREE HOURS is a bit obnoxious.

No thanks - It doesn't harm you in any way. Yes, its slightly annoying. But so are a lot of thing that happen to your HA/forum background during events.

I agree with Yuu, see what I did there? I love joining in with everything, but the time the snowballs stick is too long,an hour would be plenty. If i'm trying stuff on I cant see myself for hours.but I bought a hairdryer the other day in a shop for about 200k, and Ive got a shield which Im saving in case things get messy :0)

I think Wolf_Spirit made a similar topic prior to the start of Lumi and Keith said he had no plans unfortunately to add in an opt-out. I'll see if I can find it for you. I know why you take issue with this and hopefully people will just politely respect that you do not want to be hit with any snowballs (I know I have no problem not pelting you lady ❤️).

An opt out is completely unnecessary. The shield blocks most of the snow balls and the hair dyer gets rid of the ones that do manage to get through instantly. I have to say that the amount of hours that the snowball stays on the avatar is excess though, 2-3 is not an exaggeration.

People could opt out of harvesting because that kind of gore and the idea of harvesting human organs probably bothered people. But this- it's just snow.

Why is it such a big deal to get hit with snowballs? I don't care how fantastic you think you are at making HAs, it doesn't hurt it to be a little snowy for a while. Jfc.

It's one month of possibly getting hit with a snowball, which has no real impact other than slightly altering your avatar for a pretty short period of time. People should not have the ability to opt out of this. They can, and should, buy the items created by the staff to prevent/melt the snowballs instead

I'd love to but I really dont want to publicly explain why the snowballs bother me to no end, the fact that people think they arent a big deal is nice but they are for me and I dont know what to do about it, especially after last year... and I dont feel i should have to pay for the hair dryers.

Maybe make a ticket explaining why its an issue for you and tell them that you don't want to post the reasons on a public forum since its nobodies damn business but yours.

I don't want to get hit with a snowball because I already have enough white bullshit (snow) to deal with outside. I'm a bit more 'snowy' than I want to be right now. Although I just kind of meh it if someone does decide to throw one at me. Its annoying, but this too shall pass. shrugs

I can see where you are coming from though, not wanting to be hit with snowballs. Also, I do recall a really rather nasty prank being played on a user (or users? idk) where people pelted them with snowballs CONTINUOUSLY and that was just.. really mean-spirited tbh. :/ I know there are items to prevent you getting hit with snowballs, but aren't they like, expensive as hell? Yeah. (correct me if I'm wrong, idk the cost of like anything)

I wish. The snowballing is just a pain in general because I feel like I'm running around trying to snowball people and hand out gifts and freeing snow fairies etc etc. Luminaire's just such a busy time o:

Exactly. It's something people have to deal with for one month out of the year. I wish they'd just quit being such babies about it. It melts off in a half hour anyway. :T

And real life snow =/= pixel snow. Real snow shits me off to no end - I /hate/ it. But this is nothing like that, so I'm coo' with it. :B

This suggestion pops up every Luminaire, it seems. XD I highly doubt Keith will add such an option, but I agree with . If you don't really bring attention to yourself, you're probably not going to get pummeled with snowballs. I don't really care for it myself and if anyone tosses one at me, I just toss one back and call it a day. I only got hit a few times last year, so it's really not a huge deal if you don't make it one.

I will never understand why people get so bent out of shape over the snowballs. It's temporary and fun. Complaining about it will only get you snowballed more. So either use the shield/dryer, or enjoy to festivities. Opting out should not be a thing.
