Meh, got an inactive mm today =(

This is my first MM, I only just started yesterday, and I must say that the first MM I received was fantastic!
I had a great time sending gifts back and forth, at one point I hadn't quite realised how much an item was worth that they had sent, so quickly doubled my efforts to send some good items back in return, so hopefully they enjoyed them. (I have since learnt from the guide to check items so that I can ensure I gift back appropriately.)
Still, this is proving to be great fun, I am totally into it!
I hope tomorrow's MM will participate more. Mine disappeared after getting a pretty expensive item. Oh well.
bummer :c my mm and i had been gifting each other quite frequently all day, and eventually it came to the point where i had to gift cheap items or something really expensive, and i thought since, well, they had been returning gifts pretty well the expensive one would be okay. and what do you know they disappear i just hope they're offline and will get back on later...
I'm really hoping either my MM picks up or some more people go post on my gift giving board. Need to pour out some of this love I've got stored up here. :D :D

Obviously my MM thought I just disappeared, by their questions. However, I was working all day.Wish there was a message option that said "I was at work" or something.

It does seem to have picked up but I don't think they had a clue what my code was. :)

Could + "I'm busy at the moment" work? That, of course, depends on how good your MM at reading messages. Mine sometimes do not react even if I spell something out with stickers/ornaments.
Second ghost in a row. Presumably a fair chunk of the good MMs have given up by now, thereby increasing the chance of getting a bad one.
If you're still looking for people in need of gifts, may I recommend the empty and lacking trees gifting thread?
I don't know what is worse: an inactive MM or someone that send me totally random items
Dear MM: I do not send wonderful items at first, I don't want to waste my good items on an MM like you who doesn't even send a "hello" back.Of course you could be working, so I'll wait a while longer, though I did join at midnight last night.Acknowledgement would be better than nothing. If your waiting for me to send decent items back instead of cheap things, then at least show me your acknowledging me or participating.

Another day another dud
I think its worse to not send a thing, id like to think that the people sending random stuff are just new/dont know what exactly to do, but to just not send nothing, you know you are in the wrong :/
I really wish there was some way to stop people from joining MM when they don't give back or only give free junk or a system in place where we can choose to pick another MM in certain situations. Guess what MM? I got the free Fireside and Morostide items too, I don't appreciate them from you!
I know that there are people joining just trying to get good items, but do many people actually go ahead and give the good items straight away? I know I don't, I start slowly to see if this MM will at least try, I am not expecting them to give me items worth millions, but I am expecting some thought and effort and when I see that I would gladly send them some items worth several hundred thousand or so.
So why do people join, give junk and then stop? It's like they honestly believe I will give them items worth hundreds of thousands or millions just because they gave me a item they received for free after a site event.
But there is no way that I will give to people that are clearly not putting in any effort and are just giving items they got for free and it just wastes my time and day.
Now I have to wait until tomorrow and hope that I get a good MM, but that really appears unlikely.

If I get an MM that gives me ANYTHING and is consistant with giving, I'm happy. I don't usually put much thought into what I give (I make sure it's nice, that's about it), so I don't expect anybody else to go above and beyond either - I find that to be a little bit selfish. Not everybody plans everything down to a T. Some people have other priorities beyond planning elaborate themes of items to give.
I'll gladly spoil an MM if they're active. :)
I've spent sooo much SP this year... but the good MMs I've had (there've been a couple!) were worth it.
I may not afford items worth millions, but I at least try to make the items useful or themed.Or funny. And I try to at least give one or two items worth a fair amount of SP.But I don't send those out first, I start small in case i get an inactive MM(like today, I joined at 12 Midnight, I sent a hello message and a few items after that. And have not even got a Hello back.Yes, I know people work, and I know most people work 8-10 hr days, but you can't tell me you worked from 12am- till 4PM
Edit: It is now 10:51 PM and I still have not received one item.

I agree. I chose the option of 'be back soon' however it wasn't really soon, I came back after a full days work. O_o
