Jack knocked softly at the door frame of the medic cabin. Seeing it was full she stepped in. Blood still slowly dripping down her from a few various cuts. “Popular place†She said looking around, half at the people, half just looking for stray bandages. Her gaze stopped on the two on the beds as they got out of the shackles. Interested to see them in their normal state after the impressive takedown just moments before.
Tressa's eyes flicked over to Jack. There were several on board who knew how to use a knife, but a lot of them had additional jobs (such as Avery). Tressa didn't know how to fight with a knife but she did have plenty of comfort holding one and using it. Maybe she should ask Jack to teach her. She wrung the hem of her skirt, still standing near Blackfire; she could ask later, when there weren't things to be done.
"Anything else I can do?" she asked Avery instead.

Avery sighed, this place was getting crowded. "There isn't much else to do. If you want to help out some more I need to make sure that the other crew members aren't hurt. You could be an assistant of sorts, just holding people, getting supplies, that sort of thing." she responded, a little surprised somebody was taking an interest in what she was doing. She began to gather bandages, gauzes, needles, and a few medications and placing them in a bag with compartments for each things.
Matthew was talking between two people, as if he had two mouths, one to talk to Rous, and one to talk to the pale man in his head. He tried to remember what had happened, but he couldn't. He frowned and shook his head after a few minutes, "I don't remember any of that. I only remember blacking out and talking to a pale man." Meanwhile, he was mentally speaking to said pale man. "Who are you?" He asked him. "You could say I'm a... patron of sorts." He said with a sly smile, "My name is Beelze, as you might have heard from the other princes." Matthew frowned and said, "What princes?" The only princes he knew of were the sons of the King that supplies privateers like Matthew and the others. "Why, one of the seven princes of hell, of course." Beelze said, the sly smile drawing wider.

"That's not right...Avery, give him a thorough check out. I'm going to my cabin to prepare for my trip." Rous slid off the table, and made his way to his quarters.
Once there, he opened up his armoire. He pulled out a thick, grey wool coat. The bottom nearly drug on the floor when held up. It was, as with most of his clothes, standard issue for the military of Eire, who often had to fight the ever stubborn Mountain raiders in the Northern mountains. So this coat was designed to keep one pretty warm, and endure lots of wear and tear. The trip would take 3 days. One day to get to his destination, 1 day of work to enchant the gloves, and one day to hike back. 3 days was long enough for someone to get all the repairs done, and their numbers back up.
What would make his trip speedier, was to travel alone. He would be travelling light, with only his pistol and pyromancy to defend himself, more than enough for him! He'd only stop to hunt food when he neared his final destination, and he'd leave as soon as they got to Perconi

Nikki's ears perked at the captain's words, and since Matthew seemed to be okay, if disoriented, she trailed after her employer. "Trip?" she chirped. "What trip? Where're you going? What's the mission? Who're ya taking -- can I go?" It was a veritable barrage of questions, punctuated by animated swishing of her tail.

"A trip that I must go on by myself, for reasons I can't tell you, Miss Nikki. He said, folding the coat and laying it on his bed. He turned, and rested his hands on her shoulders. "Your mission is to rest when we get to Perconi, a lovely town with some of the best food in the region, and wine to match! Now leave me, I must change. Drake blood stinks when it rots." He spun her around, pointing her towards the door

"Aww~" The nekomimi made a face. Resting sucked, and while food and drink was nice, an adventure would be better. "Fiiiine," she sighed, and sulked off. A scheme to tail him flitted through her head. Would he recognize her in cat form? She didn't recall mentioning her shifter abilities to anyone save Matthew and Blackfire. Maybe she would. She was certain she'd get plenty of rest the evening prior, and would doubtless be bored if forced to stay in town.

Blackfire glanced around at the others after Rous had left for his cabin. "So... I don't know about you guys... but I'm gonna play a fun game for the next three days. It's called the stalking game. And the target is Rous." Well, at least hopefully she'd be playing, anyway. "You guys in or what? I think that kitty is planning on following him already..." With a loud groan she pushed herself onto her feet. "Or are y'all chicken, hm?" She shuffled toward the exit with a smirk on her face.
Matthew's eyes narrowed at Blackfire, "You think Rous won't notice you? You'd think he'd be trained for even the most master thieves and assassins, considering he's relatively notorious from what I've heard. He'd spot you from a mile away. Even with your shadow transformation thing you do." Matthew closed his eyes, turned to Nikki, and held his chin in his between his two fingers, "And I don't think he'll want to be alone be around town, considering how there's nothing special about this town, so doing the thing you do most likely won't work as well." He closed his eyes, "I'm going to head out on my own as well after the doctor here can give me a checkout. Feel free to stalk me if you want, though I doubt the things I'm after will really interest any of you." The conversation with the pale man seemed to have ended, leaving Matthew mentally alone.

Nikki grinned at Matthew. "Done! But how 'bout instead of stalking, I just tag along?" Her expression was impish. "I mean, sneaking is fun and all, but company can be fun too~" Her expression shifted as she recalled something and changed topics abruptly. "Oh! By the way, those powers were /awesome/! You're so lucky~ I wish I could do stuff like that! ...I'm kinda jealous."

Tressa paused in the work Avery had given her, distributing bandages currently. "Stalk him?" she said with a frown. She would have said more but Matthew was already speaking, stating a far more convincing argument than she could have of why they oughtn't go. However, another thought popped into her head as Matthew finished. "You're first mate! Rous trusts you, don't betray that!" She turned back to her work, blushing at having spoken out. She had no desire to go with Matthew, either. She, for one, had never been out of her own town and would love to see another. Besides, it was her duty to keep them well-stocked on rations. And maybe she could help with recruiting!

"Booooring, the lot of you," Blackfire sighed heavily. "By now he should be used to me pulling stunts like this. ...Even though I'm not entirely sure what I mean by that. In any case, I plan to follow him. Tressa, Avery, you two can be in charge of recruiting other members; if you feel you need help, ask the other officers. Wherever Rous is going has to be someplace of significance, so I'm going to find out exactly where it is." She paused at the door and glanced back at them, then shuffled out.
When she got to her room, she peered out the window and felt her stomach drop. She hadn't known the new name... but the terrain was certainly familiar to her, and just strengthened her resolve to follow Rous. There was no way she was going to miss out on this. As quick as her body would allow, she washed off the drake blood and changed her clothes, then pulled a few books from her trunk. This would need some special hiding.
"I'm not a chicken Blackfire. I respect the Captain's orders and wish to remain a part of this ship's crew. Besides none of us know what to expect, it's possible some of us might die if we aren't prepared for such adventures." Avery told her, pausing her work to glare at her retreating form. She turned back to Matthew, "Follow the ball of light." she ordered, flicking a small dime sized globe of dim light into the air. She watched his eyes for signs of neurological problems. "A few silly questions." she added, "I'd prefer you answer them with as little sass as possible." she added quietly, a small smile curved her lips. "What is your name? The date? Your location?" she asked, pausing between questions. "Also do you have any ringing in your ears, blurred vision?" She added as her final questions.
As Tressa spoke out Avery caught her blush, "It's okay to speak out, you're allowed to have an opinion." she told the girl quietly. "Besides I can handle myself in a new town, I'll be with you while we recruit." she said, trying to encourage the other woman with a smile. She didn't mention she did not want to be a recruiter, it wasn't her thing.
Tressa gave a smile that was half-grimace. "Life-long habits are hard to break, I guess. I expect Perconi will likely be the safest place anyway...now that we ran into drakes, what's to be afraid of in town?" She paused, starting to frown. "Might be a good opportunity to get some practice too. With a weapon, I mean. I might not want to stalk the Captain because I think it's disrespectful but...that doesn't mean I'm not a coward. I know learning use of a weapon won't fix that but maybe it would help. Can't even try to fight if I don't know how."

Nikki was torn. Captain, which was bound to be interesting, or the handsome Matthew? "Gah, now I dunno which one I should follow!" she complained, sprawling herself in a seat. "I mean, if the Captain's doing it, it's got to be good, but then again I do like this job and he might kick me off the ship...."

"What, you don't think whatever demon-related quest Matthew might have in mind won't be interesting?" said Tressa with a small smile. "I'm going to go find Jack and ask her to teach me how to wield knives as weapons when we get into town. Unless...well, unless you wouldn't mind, Avery? You said you were good with them too? I mean, I had thought you'd be too busy but if we're in town..."

Carefully following the first mate Jack knocked on the doorway of her quarters. “Blackfire?†She asked. “I’ll go. I’d rather not get kicked off the ship, but what’s a little extra adventure in life if you’re not willing to take it?†She offered a small smile. She kept her spot in the doorway as she spoke until she was invited in. She did like the zesty adventure side of the other woman, made for a hopefully good friendship.
“There are many people that could help you with the basic’s Miss Tressa†Fer smiled still standing near by as the others left. Adventure alway sounded good, but spending time with beautiful people always sounded better.
Matthew turned back to Nikki "I'm fine with that, just as long as you don't mess with anything." He looked at his hand, the warmth of the green flames still lingering in them. "As for the powers I have no idea what that was about." He did as Avery instructed. His pupils got slightly smaller as his eyes followed the light, and answered each of the questions correctly, except he started to say "B" before correcting his own name. "I don't really have any ringing in my ears or blurred vision right now, no." Once he was done answering he turned to Tressa, "I'm not really on a demon-related quest, just a little project I started in Fyreside but could never finish with what I had." He fished out a blueprint of sorts from his pocket. It was made of cheap parchment, but the paper wasn't the intriguing thing about it, it was what was on the paper. It was a cannon.

"There's different levels of interesting," the neko protested. Sh glanced at the paper. Some sort of techy design? "I'm going with Blackfire," she announced. Tinkering might be fun for some, but it didn't interest her much. And shopping for techy stuff was only fun if you knew what it was -- or if you stole the parts. From the sound of it, that wasn't what Matthew had in mind.
