Just thought of something else. The site could have introduced Boutique Trunks containing a lot of more realistic items for 500CS but we haven't had those. This is why I think JESSYTA has the right explanation for the lack of costume trunks lately.

I think it being too much to draw for 500csc is BS.
Most trucks have between 8 and 12 items, per gender, and as wearables they require staff artists to get drawn twice (once as an item, once as the wearable). That is 16 to 24 items that a staff member has to draw, and that Subeta has to pay them for... for only $5 back from a player.
For players they are great because we get so much for a small price tag, but if you look at it logically, in terms of profit margins, trunks are a horrible item for Subeta to create as a business.
Pretty much this - it sucks that these are the realities of it, but this is the reason we've been releasing less trunks. It's possible we'll figure out how to make them with way less items, or another method of releasing them, but for now :(

I personally still really want to see the rest of the original one piece costumes revamped, some of them have the potential to have awesome sets of items and I really hope to see them taken apart and resold in the eventual future.
That said, I actually liked the direction of themed sets? Like the Mechanics box and the movie reel? Where it's just a collection of themed items; some wearable, some books, some just fodder. A few bits of everything for $5? I liked those a lot more than the MCTs which are typically only half used (a few pieces become staples, and most of it is worthless and only used for TC items) (not a bad thing, but not exactly something that'll entice someone to drop $5 when they can get most of the stuff they wanted for a few million).

How about having a Costume Shop section in the Cash Shop? It could work the same as the Boutique sets where each piece of a set could be bought separately or the complete set bought for a small discount. You could charge the same prices as the Boutique items for them.

And you can bring back some of the old ones from time to time. Even not releasing something new you still can change the set once in a while :)
I like this especially because it becomes attractive to people who are not into wardrobes. As usual, I think incentivizing users to collect and work on pets is a great thing to keep a diversified audience generally happier and I feel it would be great to incorporate that into trunks c; Then, if we're talking about packs that give you a bunch of items bundled together, I can imagine people wouldn't have a hard time selling off the pieces they don't have a use for!
Like (this is a very random and loose example) I saw someone asking for snake tongue wearables the other day and thought "well, it would be cool to have some Serpenth tongues, why not?!". If that was a trunk, there could have been a couple Serpenth "disguise" items (think cool things like scales, tongues and makeup, as we've just gotten some awesome bottoms recently), plus a book "So you're a Serpenth fan?" and maybe a plushie / beanbag / cute snake minion. Six or seven items maybe, half of which without an overlay?
There are many, many items that could be used for both costumes and more realistic avatars (snake scales could be great to create fashionable body textures, I know I personally adore items like or even ), so I think a middle ground could be achieved there when it comes to cash items.
[edit] I don't think trunks have to remain as they are when it comes to male/female sets (which are typically completely different), that does indeed seem overkill for 500 csc... I mean just compare it to Monthly Collections and other CS products ;c
I really liked having the trunks around, shame they are a dying breed.
So suggested the cs boutique style trunks where you can pick and choose which items you want. I like that idea, but I also wouldn't mind (probably unpopular opinion) spending another 100-200csc on a trunk if that meant they got to stick around/revamped other costumes to make trunks/brought new trunk ideas into the cs, as long as the trunks still kept the same or similar amount of items. I usually buy both the male and female versions of a trunk anyway. Oh great. Now I am bursting with new trunk ideas. OR I'm just really tired.
AND I like this mixed item sets/trunks idea. I'm kinda new to subeta so I'm not sure I was here for these but I will have to check them out! They sounds super neat and cover more ground when it comes to appealing to all the different crowds playing subeta, so I think that's a good call in the business/cash shop/bringing milkshakes to the yard (or something like that) spectrum of subeta.
So, all the trunks have been retired and there's now an empty section for trunks in the Cash Shop. Does this section still being in existence mean that something's being planned or is it going to be a forgotten area on the site? ( wanted to put a smile smiley at the end of this and it came out as a blush.)

I completely agree. I was a staff member for a very short time on another pet site and learned very quickly how much artists are paid. $5.00 for a trunk that has that much work going into it is pretty ridiculous.
That being said, however, I miss them. VERY much. It'd be super nice if costume trunks came back but were sold in the same format as Boutique items. Buy the whole trunk for a discounted price, or pieces for their individual prices. The wigs would not be redeemable as these would be costume trunks instead of Boutique items. So often there were pieces in the trunks that I wanted but not ever the whole trunk. Then there were those lovely trunks where I wanted everything in them.
Raising the trunk prices to make them reflect the time and effort that the artists put into them is fine by me as the work in them is excellent.
