I had this really weird thought process where BEFORE the end of the plot I ship them hard
And then after, I was half pleased and yet half sad that they probably aren't just super-close best friends: I looooove immensely close friendships. The ones where everyone thinks "ohohohoho yeah those two ;)" but it's actually not romantic/ sexual, they're just 'take a bullet for you' level of closeness. This world tends to make out as though it's impossible to be that close to another person without the inclusion of a level of romance or sex - but it is, and I love seeing those friendships :D
I think that in this case everyone is right in thinking they're 'together' though, so I'll go with the half of me that ships it :P
