Say I sold a CW as a private but now I want to de-privatise it? Is that allowed if I contact those who bought it and offer a refund/tell them about it? Or is it not allowed at all?
Typically people leave the one(s) released as private and then make recolors for public sale.

Yeah I basically just want to do something with the hoard I have sitting around in my safe 8D; Plus I kinda found one of the few I sold sitting around in the pawn shop so IDK. :/
Well remember even if you say no sell, loan, trade ect ect there is NOTHING that can stop a person from doing so once they have a copy in their inventory.
But if you have a bunch gathering dust and you're the one who made/ commissioned it then why not sell them? Or gift them or trade for what you want with them. I've received many CWs as gifts and found many for sale for cheap on boards and I'd not have two clues what one's are private or not.
So maybe just see about what you can do with your current stash? Some people also may ask about recolors and that can be a good way to gauge making new colors for a shop for public sales?

So it's okay to now change my mind and sell/trade them even though I wasn't going to? ovo That's basically what I'm asking about - the ones in my vault.
If YOU are the maker of them then yes. There's little sense as a whole of having something you made wasting space. I'm sure you made them to be enjoyed so why not sell to people who do enjoy them?

Thanks Rydia for your help~<3!
No problem. Plus you can still keep it private in the sense of once they are sold out no more to be had and also ask under it if recolors were made would people want it.
Like this for example: 3 Left, once sold out all gone but considering recolors
People generally ask how soon or what colors you're thinking and ask to be notified when you make it so they can slot in on it.

I am not too sure about the advice you have been given. There are different rules for buyers and sellers. It may possibly be considered scamming to publicly sell something you promised would be private. I think it is always best to file a ticket for clarification when it involves rules.
This would be like if you said you were going to limit the item to 2 batches and then a month later you tell people you are opening two more batches,What you decide to do originally with the item is what you have to stick to or it is considered scamming.

That's a slippery slope.. if you state that the item is private and then publically release it there may be people who previous bought it who feel cheated, especially if the originally price was higher than normal. I know there are people who won't buy unlimited items or mass released items because they depreciate in value.
I just want to know HOW it's a scam if someone made batch and say only 3 were taken leaving 7 sitting there if the person who made it sold them off or gifted them out? If they aren't making more of that color, once the leftovers they had from slots not filling most likely, were gone and no more to be had is being false? so now as the maker of the item they are being FORCED to retain 7 items doing nothing? I mean I've seen other users sell off their leftover private items. Rarely is it ever a second hand sale of a private and most times I either saw them pinging the maker to the board or a post saying they have permission to sell the private item. So how is this situation any different than these?

I'm not planning to release more batches, simply trade or sell the remainder of the original batch?
I thought that, which is why I'm going to offer a refund to those two (maybe one now, as I found one of the items in the pawn shop....) people who bought it assuming it would be private.
One other thing that people do (and I myself have) is made one copy of the private item public. Normally, those go for obscene amounts of CSC but it does seem to be rather common practice.

That's what I did originally, and what I'm asking about! Say I sold one copy on the assumption it would be private/not be publicly sold. Now I want to get rid of the remainder of the CW's that are sitting in my vault unuused. Can I sell them? Yes/no? If not, can I create a contest for them, as I said they would never be SOLD, and reserved the right to use them in contests/ect....
Staff hasn't really endorsed private CWs in the past, so personally I think you'd be fine but I'd still say file a ticket since even the quote from Jessi doesn't really say anything about this case
That... sounds very much like a ticket thing because about the time I say something, it's going to be the exact opposite in the rules.
