I can't understand the reasoning behind this either. If you wanted to give those who couldn't get the 25 ghost one another chance, why not making it tiered as people already suggested? What's the point on clearing 25 ghost if you'll get exactly the same clearing 15 (the same item and a +1 on your achievement count)?
I can't see why making it tiered wouldn't be a better idea.
posted in the news:
A more prestigious prize to go along with the 25 ghosts would be logical.
But this is Subeta...
What I thought the prestige was is that at the end of the plot, there will be an extra prize / more points for whoever got 25 and that the two separate achievements is allowing to track who got 25 and who got 15.
Tiers would have worked for that too, though, so I don't get why it was done that way. Maybe staff didn't want to give two achievement tiers for one task. Which is weird because they had done so in the past.
Either way I don't collect achievements so I don't really mind (as long as if there's a prize involved it goes to the achievement doing the better thing), but having two separate achievements for the same thing with the same prize confused me because I only saw one at first and thought it glitched or something and was like ????
I'd prefer a tier, or people who got 25 get both? I think that's kinda how the saheric was done? Where if you did the thing at all you got the achievement and the prize, and if you were one of the first x people you got that achievement + another one for being fast and stuff. I liked that way more, less confusing.
I collect achievements and this annoys me a lot. ;~; It's so illogical because the prize is the same.
I'm still waiting on that "You tried" title tbh.
This frustrates me so much. This should have been tiers and people who got the the 25 should have gotten both tiers. Now I just got another achievement on my list that i can't get.

Really do not like this, at all. Please do not do this again, Subeta. Having to make a choice in order to get an achievement, but having to decide if you want to purposely suck at something or not? Yeah, no thanks.
This is like giving first place winners a medal and then a participation prize that is the same trophy to all the other kids.

Oh no you didn't get a better prize for getting 25 the first time? Harsh.
Having two achievements for the same thing is redundant. I don't see why this couldn't have been tiered, honestly. That's like having a separate achievement for every tier that the cumulative wardrobe achievement has or something. Redundant.
I spent several minutes being confused and a little angry, because I read it wrong at first. I thought the first achievement was for clearing 30 ghosts in 15 seconds and the second was clearing 30 ghosts in 25 seconds. I received the one for clearing 25 ghosts and I was all "curses! I should have been quicker! I spent too long reading the instructions while the game got on without me!" then I read the achievements a few more times and I was like "wait... what? Why are these achievements two separate ones?"
Just another annoying achievement sitting there that half the people can't actually get. It really makes no sense to me why they're not tiered. If it is for some sort of score tracking related to plot then the site has tracked points in other ways before, other ways that have not been nearly as confusing or seemingly make no sense.
It doesn't really bother me all that much. I've already come to accept that I won't get all achievements :P And like has already mentioned, maybe there will be more points for the ones who got 25.

I am amused by the idea of there being two achievements, one of which you just can't get if you get the other one.
I don't care that they both have the same prize. What really bothers me it's that they're separate achievements. It really should have been tiered instead of there now being one that's impossible to obtain. It's a nuisance. It's one thing to have retired achievements, another to have impossible achievements due to redundancy.
There have been achievements like this in the past, and for the record I don't really mind having an set of achievements that you can only get one of, like
Survivor vs Infected (or any of the zombie ones)
Team Ecks vs Team Skitters
Those make sense. Having a seperate achievement for not doing as well? That doesn't make sense.
I don't see the point in having two achievements either, even though I don't mind that much that I won't get the other achievement...
I doubt staff would just change it to a tiered achievement though :l if they listen to this feedback topic the most they'll do is not do this again..:P
yes yes yes i agree 100%
at first, i freaked about missing something from the plot because i didn't get the 15 ghosts achievement, and after i found out it's either one or the other i found it very odd they did it this way =/
i hope this doesn't become a trend for achievements, and that this one means more plot points
i think that the new system makes very easy for staff to add achievements, like we've seen, tons and tons of achievements which i particularly don't like, (i don't like the fact that you basically need every single item in the site) but it's so easy to add new achievements that they just skipped the logic in this one.
I wish it told you how fast you dispelled the ghosts. I felt like I did it in less than 30 seconds but I can't tell.
But besides the OT, the double beanbags are meh. I'm not a beanbag fan and if it was tiered, that would be cool.

Yeah, I don't get why it wasn't tiered with the prize on the first tier, if they were so concerned about everybody getting the beanbag. I had a moment of panic when I thought that I'd missed an easy achievement, and I'm not even particularly an achievement hunter.
This is how I see it. If we do get extra prizes later, cool. I liked the chance-ish element of it. It could go a bit farther though, like different items or a new title.
I don't normally mind an achievement where you have to pick a side and thus can only earn one of the two achievements... but I was seriously confused on this one because of how it is worded. For two days I was like "But I got 25 ghosts, which means by default I also got 15 ghosts, so why did I not get the other achievement?" I DO appreciate that staff wanted to be sure that all participants got the beanbag, and I agree with the speculation that the separate achievements could be helping plot point tracking, but I think that if the wording would have been better, like the suggested "all ghosts on first try, second + try".
