I didn't figure it out. One of my mother's boyfriends took us both out for dinner at a "steak" joint and he was scandalized that I was going to order fish & chips. He made me a deal, offered to order steak for me and if I didn't like it, I didn't have to eat it and he'd get me the fish & chips. I figured it was his money to waste and I humoured him. Joke turned out to be on me since I loved the medium rare steak he ordered for me.
