I don't think I'll have time / funds for a sprint this month. I have assignments and exams and I'm going to Seattle in a month! Too much to do. I'm not sure I'll ever have funds for a sprint tbh; most of my collections are pretty full. XD

So, I worked at an exotic pet store. Basically what I did was the shit work, literally. Every Friday I clean 30+ bird cages, and on Saturdays I cleaned the mouse room. Basically, the mouse room is a 15x10 room, with one vent, no windows, 2 40-gallon tanks full of 200+ mice each, and two racks of 45 drawers, each with 3-4 mice in it. Not gonna do the math, but that's hundreds of mice, shitting, in a room with no ventilation, for a week. On top of that, I was using chemicals in this little room for 3 hours straight. Needless to say I came home with a migraine every Saturday. It was to the point that i asked to leave after only cleaning the mouse room because I was in so much pain. And you know what? They would make me feel bad about it. "Well, there are things that still need done". After I went through a few months worth of my migraine medication in ONE MONTH, I decided I was done. So last week, I very politely told my manager, who is the boss's girlfriend that I couldn't do the mouse room anymore, because it was making me sick. I offered to train whoever would do the mouse room (usually the newest employee takes up the dirty jobs, but that didn't happen when we hired the new guy). She said she would talk to the boss about it, but that it should be okay and we'll figure something out. This was last Friday. So I came in Saturday expecting to still do the mouse room and at the very least train the newer coworker. I was right about one part of it. I was told I would still have to clean the mouse room that day (which I expected) because no one else would be able to do it. Okay. Fine. That's fine. Until I came in yesterday to get crickets for my geckos and saw that I was still scheduled Saturday to do the mouse room. It was pretty busy so I just left a note like "I told you I am not doing the mouse room anymore" which okay it was a bit rude, but I had tried to be nice about it. Well, I got a call today. Something along the lines of "I need to talk to you. Call back." So I did, and I was informed that Mark (the boss) "Didn't appreciate that I was telling him what I would and would not do and that he decided to find someone else for the job." So I went in to get my last week of pay, which Rachel claimed she "didn't have". So I said I would be in Saturday for it. I then got a TEXT MESSAGE from the other worker asking for my address so they could just mail me my paycheck and I wouldn't need to come back in. I said I wasn't going to wait for it to go through the mail when I literally live five minutes away and could just pick it up. I then received a text saying "Well we have the cash now so you can just come back and pick it up". Uh, I was just there, and you didn't have my money. Why all of a sudden do you have it? And why the FUCK would I drive back after that? A few minutes later I got a call, which I didn't answer, and got a LOVELY voicemail "If you had any brains you would come back and get your pay now while Mark isn't here. He doesn't ever EVER want to see you in this store again. Who do you think you are to dictate what job you will and will not do. GROW UP."
Wait. What. Grow up? Grow up?! Are you fucking kidding me? I just... what the fuck. Is this real life? Because I feel like I'm back in high school... with five year olds... calling me doo-doo-head.
Anyway I said I would be coming in tomorrow after class for my paycheck, and if they do not have it, I will report them (for many many things). So yep, that was my night.
Anyway, I'm out of a (shitty) job. Now what?
That sounds completely ridiculous. They should be putting their employees health FIRST and not act like they have some sort of grudge against you for getting sick doing the job.
I just...I can't even put into words how angry that makes me.
TELL ME ABOUT IT. I JUST. UGH. I was going to put my two weeks in mid-October, but I didn't because I felt bad for them. GOD DAMNIT.
Uh is it super bitchy of me to report them for owning an illegal bird? Is that going to far? Because I'm sorta kinda pissed.
I would report it. Are they trying to sell it? Someone looking for a bird may not know it's an illegal one and end up in trouble due to that.
No. They had one at the store in the back room which attacked me once... then they got rid of it. But they have another at their house, which I think attacked the cable guy...

Also wtf, kookaburras are wild and loud and they sometimes sit outside and stare at me. They're cool, but not pets. Does that happen in America? O_o
I say we reopen soonish! It'd be good to have pings working but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. :/ I haven't really been checking the forums. >_>

Kookaburras aren't native to America, silly. And if they were, I'd fucking leave O_O They're mean little buggers, and they spew blood everywhere when they eat.
They're stupid. I'm over it. I'm actually kind of grateful to not ever have to go back there again. The vibes were so bad. All they ever did was bitch at each other, bitch about customers, bitch about other employees behind their back... it was just crappy. All I want is my money and I'll be happy. Besides! I'm upgrading my RAM in my Mac tomorrow and now I'll have more time to play Sims!
ANYWAY, HOW IS YOUR DAY GOING? :) And how come you aren't gonna sprint this month?!

I meant how do they have them in pet shops? That's just... odd. I didn't think they were allowed to be exported. They're not very aggressive in my experience, but I've never known anyone to try to catch one. I quite like them. c: They're cute and fluffy.
Anyway, good luck getting another job! Have fun with the Sims. ^_^ Which version? I don't know if I'll ever get 4 because of all the downgrades. How can you not include pools when they were in every Sims ad ever? : P
