Y'know I've always thought the concept of a different thing each day had merit, I think it could work with this pretty well. I mean it might have to be done with some restrictions since there's only x restockable toys but if each day changed there's thousands of restockables and if someone misses a day or two they'll be left in the dust.
But I mean Keith has said time and again 'limits' and whatnot so I think it could still work if staff has a max amount of points in mind like they have for the past RDs (afterall there's only x amount of books onsite). Like one day turn in 100 restockable books/book quests, the next day is 350 of any food items (we have sooooooo many food items)/Pete quests, and then maybe clothing donations being taken by Sarah and Saggi (ie: all they ask for is clothes) and maybe Quentin (they ask for retired clothes, Sarah cheap clothes, and well Sag is a jerk)? Everyone can do those three that day as means of points because Sarah is generous and (hell yes) Saggi got busted by the press and has to let everyone do his quests that day-- which I hope is a TS tabloid book the day before, followed by a free gift "totally heartfelt apology letter that his personal assistant totally didn't write for him".
I wouldn't even mind if it was a single item type of drive that collected it differently every few days. Breaking up the monotony and all that? Like two days restockables, two days retired stuff, two says double select quest, idk one day of battling a super weak "blazing fire" or "scattered shower" (that'd require limits I imagine, since battlers are known to overachieve).
Idk. Overall this has a lot of potential and sounds like more fun/community/back lore than just turning in retired books.
yeah, my only misgivings about multiple item-themes is the points accumulated might really start to spiral out of control. maybe there could be a rarity cap? "we're not accepting toys/clothing/etc above rarity X, for liability reasons" or whatever. that could help to limit the number of items coming in to a narrower pool without technically having to fix a hard cap. i feel this is the big issue that needs to get smoothly ironed out before any sort of event starts up.
but good lord are the storytelling possibilities ripe with this one. TS restock of "SUBETANS BEHAVING BADLY," then the day afterward we get the "insincere public apology" free item
"i LOVE the idea of saggitarius having to do community service for some wildly public tabloid scandal."

YES PLEASE. this would be so great!
other than that, I'd love to see a toy drive and/or clothing drive, since those don't disappear into collections, and there's a lot of cheap stuff you can turn in - a rarity cap might be good! (dear god please no retireds. i beg you.)
I totally love any idea that will give some love to the toys again. I still miss the Geek.

What was the question?
I really really like this idea. Toys are actually affordable.
I really like the idea of not taking things over rarity x for damage prevention, or depending on what the items themselves might be (ex: food, every holiday 6ever has given away noms and we're about to head into the motherload of free foods) only retired foods for example. Like, sorry we've had our fill of common food, but boy we're tired and would love to stock up on candy/festive treats to boost our energy, or something.
IDK BUT NOW I REALLY HOPE THE SCANDALOUS TABLOID THING BECOMES A REAL THING. One day. Because I can only imagine what Saggi could possibly do to get himself "punished" so harshly as to have to be nice to us peasants (and help the community, too).
Dare I say I hope it involved Jaxon and/or Elwood Scandals indeed
I would support the donation of toys only if it plushies and beanbags aren't included, there's just too many of them to turn them in, not considering all of the very expensive plushie/beanbag we already have.
So Reading Drive, but without the books, and still get RD prizes? Yes, I'm all for it. There is so much I need from those shops.

I think a toy drive would be great.
I like the "rotating items" drive idea.
Perhaps they could make it competitive. Like make two teams (maybe more?) and see who can raise the most money (aka points).
Each team can have separate items or group of items and activities they focus on (obviously this has to made balanced).
For example.
Just throwing ideas. Maybe 3-4 main groups, that way people cant just go ugghhh i hate "insert item/focus here" why do this event if it includes a variety of aspects. y'know the usual bitching and hating.
I've always thought what toys were made for. They're like, furniture? I sincerely admit I've almost never used one before. And prices are REALLY deflated, so, why not? It could be useful for Subeta economy. Moreover, we're close to Luminaire... I think's a nice idea! I'm really scared about donating books. Really. A +150 rarity book is REALLY expensive, and - come on - I prefer reading it to my pet than donating to a public library that I cannot consult :P Maybe in that occasion Alexander may help us giving out toys and not books...

This is a really good idea. I need more RD points, but having to give in retired/holiday/TS books for them is stupid, so changing the item category would be a good way around that.
Love, love, love this idea! I would include plushies and beanbags too though as many, many of them are really inexpensive.
I think this would be a fun event and a way to get more RD prizes out into the wild, especially the ones from the first Drive.
I would like to see it concentrate on more then one type of item so inflation isn't too sudden and sever. Either the rotating days thing or just allow every food, clothing, toy, beanbag, plushie, medical item on the site to be turned in at once. However that would be massive amounts of points so I think there would have to be a limit of points per day or items per day in order for this idea to work.
Bring on the donating Subeta!

I love this!
Love the basic toy drive idea. Rotating item requests also works for me. Actually pretty much any kind of drive makes me happy (other than book drives).

Didn't read the entire thread so idk if this was mentioned already, but I swear I remember staff saying they don't want another reading drive with books involved.
I personally don't care WHAT kind of drive it is as long as: 1. it's not books again 2. we're not given advanced warning as to what kind it is (because hello hoardingggg).
