I don't agree with this idea. If you are asleep when some of the shops are closed etc. organize a trade with someone who's awake. That's what I did last year. It's also possible to buy other user's buying services in the Wanted forum, and I've done that there too.

If all the items were always available always whenever anyone wanted, all y'all would do what all y'all always do and buy a fuckton of them hoping that the price would go up, only since absolutely everyone who could bought a fuckton of them of course they won't. And then folk'd complain (even the same ones( about how they were worth crap how dare they charge so much and folks who are complaining now that Quentin is asking for them will complain that Quentin isn't asking for them.

It's all pixels not real goods, so the "means of production" needs to be artificially limited and kept mostly out of the hands of the proletariat. For Alegarten the method is different than that of Keelhauliday etc. So that's a big fat NO.

That is not what I'm suggesting. Yeah sure I'd love it if the shops were all open at once but I understand how that is very unlikely to ever happen. I would however like to see the shops rotate more often or mix up which shop is open which time slot on different days. That would keep them restricted while still helping more users to be able to purchase what they want.

I think your statement about people buying them to hoard and resell is a bit exaggerated. Why would people buy up gobs of these items to try and resell anyway? These type of shop items don't usually hold onto resell value well and most people know that. The prices are, for the most part, a bit too high to encourage any sort of large hoard. Only thing I could see being profitable resellers would be the books maybe. Also, there's nothing stopping people now from buying up tons of items in attempts to resell if they so wanted to.

There is nothing wrong about switching up the timing on something, if able, to allow for more people to participate in the whole event. I'm assuming the timing is partially to get users to come back online multiple times throughout the day but the current 10hr window just does not work that well for a large amount of users.

Couldnt they revise the timers so that instead of one buy every 5 mins to 6-12 buys every half/hour limitation. Its the same difference but it is a lot more user friendly than forcing use to stay on longer with these tactics.

The combo of the shops switching up and the 5 minutes timer is getting annoying.

I only see gutten ale for about an hour and a half if i go from my bed straight to my laptop and don't eat breakfast. And with my timer not always giving an alert I can get around 12 items. I'm not even close to done buying them all. And the "timer will be shorter on the last day" is really no help because it's never in my time zone.

I'd confidently bet that less than 1% of the people who want the shop times changed/timer abolished are greedy resellers. o and 'what y'all always do'? A+ for terrible sweeping generalizations; your argument is still shitty though.

As someone who is supposed to be sleeping during all but 1-2 hours the Geschenkboutique is open, I think having each shop open for two five-hours chunks instead of one ten-hour one is a great idea.

I guess I shouldn't be surprise nothing was done on this even though last year this was complained about. This is the only thing I never liked about Alegarten. Prices, don't care.

As long as I can get online right away once I wake up I'm lucky that I get around a two hour window (barring either my internet or subeta going down) to buy from the clothing shop. Which boils down to having the other two shops open later when I am able to get back online around 9pm. Two shops that after the first day I've already bought the handful of items I want because I'm lucky enough to have them open long enough and am now having to sit here and stare at wishing I could instead buy the items I want.

Yesterday, Saturday, I didn't even get to see the clothing shop because I decided to actually, you know, go outside (went to a fair). I'm just glad that we're not getting anything else thrown in on later days. I have the silly beards (which to me look like something that should be for Vesnali not Alegarten but whatever) to buy and since they're wardrobe fodder I don't care if I really get them all or not. lol

edit: oh gods! I spoke too soon on the internet going down part. lmao It just had to go down right after I posted.

God I hope this changes next year. Guess how much I slept today? 1 or 2 hrs, literally! All because of the stupid times that each shop is on!

I worked/ slept through the Geschenkboutique hours, everyday. Its like the fishing daily in world of Warcraft that happens 1 day every week on a day I always work. X'D

I live in the UK and find that the timing for events such as these suck! I have life priorities that come first as many others do and I hate logging on when I can to find I have missed an event, token shop restock etc. I mostly always end up having to buy the items I need. I know you won't be able to please everyone whichever way you decide to go with this, but getting rid of the timings would certainly help :)

I like the idea of 5 hours blocks instead of 10. I'd actually have a chance then.

Hopefully staff are considering switching it up for next year. Haven't heard any responses to any of this, but here's to hoping anyway. Even if it's not 5hr blocks, as long as something makes it change for the better, I'd be perfectly happy.

This would be an excellent idea. Seeing as not everybody can be online on Subeta 24/7, it would definitely be a great change for next year.

Also have the time limit reduced to every minute or totally gone would be great too. Seeing as the event is only five days...
