It is just a matter of taste, I guess. First pregnancy clothes, then nursing bras, then baby HAs with disposable diapers and fake birth control packets. Then the Pope will come and close down the site and that would be awful. And it all begins because somebody wanted a maternity item. Its a slippery slope I am telling ya.

I would love to dress my HA up as pregnant, I would actually enjoy making an HA for once! But I see this as being something that'd prolly be fairly difficult to do for the site artists, and would probably only cater to a small amount of users who'd actually wear it or even want it. That's not a good reason to not have an item like that on site, but is a great reason to try and get it done as a CW (if someone does, feel free to ping me if there's slots available!).

I'm shocked that people haven't tried to do little blanket slings or maternity tops as CWs to celebrate personal life events. I think this idea would best be left to that because it's really only a big deal to the people going through it. Think of the oversharers on your Facebook feed who won't shut up about their next maternity photoshoot or whatever.

I've gotta admit, I've used the "who-is-really-going-to-wear-this" argument in the past and I do think that it has a place when it comes to certain things. That being said however, considering the sheer number of useless wearables that get made

I purposefully left out the stuff with dates on it like the 2013 inflatable bras, 2010 goofy glasses etc, but I think they are part of the same thing, who the heck wears them after the event is over?

Probably less than the number of people who would wear pregnancy clothing. I would love the see the polka dotted shirts revamped at the very least. They are useless to me, but there are people that do want them

Wouldn't a maternity top count as altering the base?

I'm not pregnant but I am a little big especially in the stomach area and I kind of liked the idea of how the materanity clothes looked on here but they don't really show that much and I thought it would be nice to be able for them to update these clothing or they can at least give us the option of pregnant avatars.

A few dresses designed to look like they're over a big bump shouldn't be too difficult. As somebody, somewhere, pointed out, the Jellyfish dress looks something like a maternity dress. The fictional Subeta world is inhabited by humans who would reproduce like humans even if some of the humanoid races don't so a small range of maternity wear wouldn't be out of place in my opinion.

"Well I wouldn't personally use it because blahblahblah" Ah yes, the Voice For Everyone. Tis be you. No one shall ever desire what you do not want. Hades forbid someone want to play around with their avatar. I am sure your fantasy life would just be ruined if another user used a pregnancy item.

"Oh, well, it wouldn't be popular." Ah yes, very unlike all of the other 16K+ other wearables all being overly popular and always used. Not a single item that has ever been produced previously is at all uncommon. Especially not any new items. They are all used all of the time, forever.

I swear I don't hate them, but I think they are a prime exanple of something that rarely gets worn on site, even thiugh it comes in quite a few color choices.

That mock up is nice, and I think it would be something that more people would be interested in

I know, I was yanking your chain ;) I do think part of the reason those items aren't used as much is because they are very saturated colors (excluding the white, black, and oddly enough the orange). But that's a different conversation !

I went with a more basic, fitting gown because it's actually fairly easy to cover up the belly with a longer wig (I tested it with the wig I am currently wearing). It still has a rounded look in the middle, but it's really not too bad. Another dress that is easily done in this basic design is something more wrinkled:

Which is very similar to the ! People seem to think "pregnant = BEACHED WHALE EVERYONE RUN" ... When really, it would actually be fairly easy to cover up.

I love the mock up has created! I think I would even use something like that just for fun.
