I just wish good art was cheaper, I really just don't have the money for all these commissions. Thankfully I found a really good/cheap artist the other day and ordered five pieces of art from her. When she's done with those I think I'll order 2 more haha.

I had big plans for Canape to collect all Libertine Lounge items and then I realized it is too much to put all of the stuff in a pet's treasure chest. I'm now going to make her into some sort of Nostalgic pet and collect the Nostalgic related items.

I'm not sure why I'm dragging my feet, but I am. I've got two completed pet profiles all ready to go, and one nearly. I just have to figure out font colours...I hate this point. I'm sitting here, staring at Photoshop...and I can't get myself to do it. GAH. One of these profiles belongs to a pet with a story already written too o O

So annoyed at myself for missing out on the Essence of Melody during luminaire. =P

Although I have no real pressing need to change any of my pets to Nostalgic atm (though I considered changing Amphi to a Nostalgic color, as it kind of fits my idea for her character). Instead I decided I want to get a Graveyard Illumis. I even have a character idea for it... So mostly I lack an actual name.

Meanwhile, I'm not much closer to finishing any of my existing pets. >_> But at least I finally got some inspiration for two of my pets (Ugliness and Enchanting). I got them both a while ago because I wanted to play with the idea of a gender-flipped Beauty and the Beast, but I didn't want to make it the same story, just the very basic idea of it. Although the source of that inspiration isn't quite there anymore, I guess I can still work with what I did get.

I haven't really been active on subeta the entire December apart from fetching Melody, so I haven't advanced on my pets aT ALL because I've been too busy playing Inquisition, and now I'm so behind on everything.

I did manage to snatch the name Dalish though and created a new pet, but now I'm stuck trying to find a fitting minion for him. I've been thinking of , but the dang minion is ~35mil and that's... really expensive so I'm a bit apprehensive of buying it. Does anyone have any suggestions, mainly white/greyish deer that look nice?

Would anyone be interested in a small artsy giveaway / raffle if I did one? I want to do something for you guys after being away for so long.

I'm with on the minion. If you don't want to spend the 35 mill, you could easily go for a cheaper minion with an overlay.

The Ice deer is so cheap and so cute oh man I'm definitely going to consider that one as an alternative! :o If nothing else, that's definitely going in his TC, it's so cute what the heck.

eyyy hello ! I wouldn't really call that a step back, at least you've been working on the pet! Sometimes it's good to change things about your pets if you don't think they quite work the way you'd want them to, did the change help with new inspiration? (I'd love to hear more : D )

Well a step back and a step forward at the same time I suppose. It was just a sudden burst of inspiration so all I have are some new notes on him. I just need to find a way to make it all work for his story. His character is based on the neck/nix from scandinavian folklore (don't know if you guys have a version of that as well?), but basically I changed him so he used to be a human. So now I have to actually make sure he has a diverse and credible personality, rather than just be what fits the creature. ^^;

We had an annoying warm spell for a few days that resulted in everything turning into wet mush, but apart from that it's been at times almost -20 and so much snow i love it. For now. How about Denmark? Are your toes freezing yet?

Oooh the nix is one of my favourite folklore legends! We have them too, they're called näkki here. The most usual nix tales here are about handsome young men who play the violin and seduce people and drown them, but I've also heard some that depict the nix as a frog. (There's actually a condom brand named after the myth...)

The twist in the story sounds really good, and gives the character more depth, definitely. How does ..Lanjelin? (sorry I'm a profile creep) feel about being turned/changing into a nix?

Lol, we've had pretty much the opposite. A couple of days just after christmas with -10 degrees average and some snow. Then the weather turned around and it's been 5-10 degrees since. (snow is great, right up until it thaws and everything turns to mush and floods)

Yeah, I'm hoping it'll help me turn him into a more well-rounded character. And it matches Sol's story better too (the characters are connected). If something like that can happen to her, why not him as well. I haven't quite figured out his reaction yet. But he was a nasty little boy before he turned, is what I had in mind. Technically he'll just be continuing his cruel ways.

The nix is one of my own faves as well. Probably because it's one of the few folklore creatures I remember hearing about when I was younger. Probably from some Astrid Lindgren story.

The worst part about winter is definitely when everything is melting and turning into wet mush and you forget what dry socks feel like. And the floods, although here they are mostly just in western Finland since it's lowland like Denmark.

I read the wiki article you linked and the English version of the nix seems to include a wyrm/dragon-esque form, and the brook horse/kelpie transformation, all very interesting. :o How myths connect and change in different cultures is so intriguing, and now you've made me want to work on my little swamp spirit / demon whatever. :')

I love it when different pets are connected to a larger story or show different sides of it, using the connection with Sol and perhaps building around their possible interactions could help developing Lanjelin as well? (My Carnel has a somewhat similar storyline going on except he's a swamp merfolk person drowning people and still very much in progress of developing an actual personality and plot, but if you want, I can try to help you world-build? )

Well we haven't gotten any actual floods. But all that snow melting all at once definitely is a lot. Got huge pools of water outside. And I think our garden is like quick sand/a swamp right now.

Yeah, you can find variations of a lot of the myths in different cultures' folklore.

Connection character is fun. But also kind of difficult because how the character appears in one story has to match the other. And it's been over two years since I did Sol's story. I re-read it not too long ago though, to refamiliarize myself with the story.

Oh Carnel sounds lovely. Watery killers ftw. I'm sure he and Lanj would be best buds. xD

I'm back to stuffing Canape full of Libertine Lounge items again. It will be nice when I can use her gallery for sP gain. Other than that, my pets have been stuck again. I have been too busy watching House, M.D. on Netflix.

Canape's TC looks really impressive! :o I've been watching a Let's Play of The Last of Us while questing and now I'm all inspired for post-apocalyptic stuff but I don't actually have any pets that would fit such a theme... e__e
