Ah, no, technically, the Alchemist is already open for everyone, as long as they take one of those temporary vials xD I think that's good enough of a compromise!
(edit just because I thought the same about humans possibly complaining about being locked out!)
I would love a dying feature or something else that enables us to obtain recolors. I'm not sure how I feel about the dying part costing csc. If it's for delish stuff, well, I technically spent csc or ample sp on the original item, so to have the re-color cost more csc is a bit much imo. I get wanting to compensate artists for recolors, but think of it this way - with recolors, more people will suddenly desire the original to be able to recolor it. I'm sure there will be people who want one of each recolor. I'm not sure how you would solve this without re-releasing the relevant lines in the boutique. Anyway - basically, sales for the originals should be enough to compensate the artist for their time.
Ooh! Thanks for the ping! I had completely forgottwn about those vials, and I agree, they are a fair compromise
Ahh thanks for that! -amends post- the whole "pay a bit of csc for craft items" could only be justifiable if we had craftable regular sets / TS items / sp stuff! If it was a straight out CS set, then definitely just the piece + the tincture (or other pretty low-rarity restockables) ^^
As much as i do like the idea, i don't see this happening this year or even in a couple years from now. I don't see it because there is just to much work that is much more important, like actually getting a working wardrobe, achievements and forums, than complicating things like changing colors of already nice cloths. Myself would LOVE to be able to change colors of clothing to match my needs, but its literally like not even a little on my radar for site importance or care at the moment.
Yeah, exactly! :) The limiting factor will be the original cs boutique item. This is such an untapped market for subeta! Just imagine the sales for the originals if there were recolors omg. xD I hope staff considers this! A++ idea.
well the thing about having a dyeing feature like suggested is that it wouldn't take any coding, so it would be all the subeta artists, who can't help code anyway. So this wouldn't slow down any of the much needed coding.
Haha, yes xD I'd need 5 sets if it came in 5 colors ;o;
Also I 110% agree with having a working wardrobe first, it truly makes no sense to argue clothing color when you can't even load what you have, or can't color your hair ._. Or forums, for us to show avatars around, or achievements for us to earn while collecting clothes.
Tbh the CS sets strike me as an interesting idea because of the potential market and all the concerns lately about the site's financial stability, etc. Also because we have several nice single-colored regular items that could use help xD
As much as I like the idea of this there are a few things I would worry about.
First: How long have they been working on the wardrobe all ready to get back up to snuff? How much longer is it going to be and how long after that would THIS take to do? Its a fairly big undertaking.
Two: What is the rarity of those viles? How often do they restock? I can already picture people hoarding as many as they possibly can and charging outrageous prices for them. Same with the clothes. People picking the most popular clothing and hiking up the prices.
Three: The drama. People will very soon start going- well this is available in black, why not bubble gum pink too?! Or pushing for things that aren't yet available to dye to be. There is going to be a lot of pressure on the artists for these things along with everything else they have to do. No one has a same favorite piece or color so how will it be decided where to draw the line on what is dye-able and what isn't and what colors should be available.?
it could be a great idea to just release the whole set revamped in diff ways. Like the delish tea example. Could be delish early gray tee, or delish rasberry tea. Stupid examples i am sure, but you knw what i mean. The whole set released in like a gold. Or the whole set released as a red. Instead of it being a "dying feature" per se. Than you can buy the pieces individually just like any other botique set. I am sure it would be a csc option as well.
hmmm but wouldn't that give us far fewer options? If the dyeable option isn't allowed by staff, that would be very nice option, IF they do useful colors, and so far they haven't in most delish sets.
I didn't check the tinctures' rarity, right now they're all pretty cheap, if this was a CS thing then I can't see them inflating a lot... for regular items, then depends on how many designs would have the dye option. It's probably better to keep it limited to a smallish pool of items, but yes, there is a tough point there in deciding what sort of designs could be dyed or not. I'd say the most versatile clothing, however it's hard to draw the line.
Technically the color limitation is (at most) the amount of tinctures available c: I would rather have exact combinations that don't overlap each other, so there wouldn't be -any- random element on the results you get. That would kill the whole intention x_x
That's actually a cute idea!
You ha is super cute! ^-^ LOVE the belt with that dress and the hair. AHHH
I wouldn't mind either option. It would be awesome and make the sets even more versatile than they are right now. Especially the older sets that old users and users in fashion cults like myself, have probably over used by now it would be great to be able to use them again without feeling like you used the same item 1 billion times. Delish mocha head piece in other colors please and thanks? XD
thank you so much! ❤ I actually meant to comment you earlier, I love the colors of yours. I have a srs bsns love of that headscarf and I'm so happy when I see someone make an awesome HA with it, haha :D
This is my first time ever using this headscarf. Why did nobody tell me the scarf was so beautiful?? Thankyou <3 =]
1: It's not like the wardrobe is completely broken. People have been making new avatars on a regular basis. Besides, no one is saying this would take priority over fixing the wardrobe.
2: The vials in question came from subeta's Valentine's this year. They're cheap and there are loads available on the shop search. Yes, they would spike in price, but there are likely to be many zombies out there that would offer alchemy services for free or for cheap.
3: Drama? When has subeta NOT had drama? lol In all seriousness though, picking out the "staple" pieces from existing delish lines isn't difficult. It's easy to see what is popular already or not. Delish noel skirt instantly comes to mind. As for colors, there don't need to be 547927. They can just match the pre-existing tinctures on site. Black, white, etc.
I really love this idea! And I can see it working with the alchemist just great. They could combine parts of the site and work off of that and not involve the wardrobe at all. It could be Genetec Lab combination shop meets Hair Salon. Turn in gold vials filled with dye and use the color picker to change the color to your shade of yellow. :D I think it's a fantastic idea and there are so many ways you could have it branch off and become even more detailed. Special vials/dyes do special things, some are harder to get then others, the kinds of dyeing you can do can also get more creative, adding patterns, ombre's ect.
Even if this isn't something they can do now, or in a year from now it's still a fun idea to play around with since you can get really creative with how everything works. :)
