i wish i could do pen pressure and whatnot, i'd have a much smoother style but old tablet is old and i've never been able to get pen pressure to work :( in fact my tablets dead as a doornail right now. (it's about 6 or 7 years old i think.) its a fun CTE-450...aka, not so fun
In that case, aside from portraits, busts, chibis, and full body images, what else do people look for art wise, and how would I price those individually?
Also... Where do I put my art shop?
Whoop whoop
I wouldn't have guessed that your tablet's sensitivity stopped working! Your lines still seemed to have varying weight to them, awesome. : D
Are you thinking of buying a new tablet soon? c:
When you say art wise, do you mean style or subject or both? Sorry, I'm a bit slow. ^^;
You put your art shops in the Art Market thread. c:
I don't know what to refer to them as. Again, I listed things like portraits, chibis, etc. Things like that. Uhm.... Fack, why my my vocalubarly be so primitive? Views? The choice of how and where you character appears regardless of style or subject? Like say, someone wants a chibi rather than a full blown image of their character. What other options might they consider, if none of the types I've listed?
Whoop whoop
I suppose that if someone wants a chibi rather than a full-blown image of their character, they'd be more willing to buy cutesy pieces. Pastels, cute poses, cute expressions. I'd think they'd go for more whimsical pieces as it were.
In more general terms, I find that people seems to be interested in cute styles, disney-type styles, and occasionally realism. Cell-shading seems pretty popular to me. c:
Does this make sense/answer your question? I hope so. ;n;
Not at all! xD But you tried, and that's what counts. I'll figure it out somehow. I'm not looking at art styles, absolutely nothing to do with art styles. Ignore chibi's entirely, maybe that's what's fucking my explanation up. I mean... Format of how an image is portrayed? People want portraits, or full body images, or just busts. I was wondering if perhaps people could have another format type in mind. Say, Avatars, icons. Actually, I just ended up answering my own question with those two things. Hahahaha!
Whoop whoop
Ah I finally understand! Well, outside of what you just mentioned I can't really think of anything else. Except maybe, signatures and "icons" as you mentioned on the right side of someone's forum post.
But yeah, you pretty much covered everything. XD
Huzzah! xD What exactly do you mean by signatures? c:
Whoop whoop
Reminder than the CW pawn is going to be swamped with awesome items today due to the new collection! I'd keep an eye out for wings, there are already awesome hairs in there, and I got the BG I'm wearing. c:
In fact, to anyone who reads this, if you have the csc, KEEP AN EYE ON THAT PLACE!
You're more patient than I ever would be, haha. Good choice to wait until you can afford a super awesome one though. c:
You know the pictures you sometimes see at the bottom of people's forums posts? Sometimes it's a gif or something, but I think people still want personalized art either at the bottom or the side of their posts. A bit like the picture in 's post above. c:
my sig art is sooooo old im just not into drawing my own HA idk why i /never/ do im gonna have to switch to traditional for a while i guess bleh side note - anyone ever get hooked on digital but when you draw traditional you improve in leaps in bounds? like if i draw digitally for too long i regress HARD then i have to break out pen and paper and i can almost /see/ improvement between my last digital and my last traditional??my old DA shows how quick i caught back up from a 'slump' when i went traditional.
Hey, how do I make thumbnails images that you can click in order to see the larger version? o.o
Whoop whoop
Aww shucks -kicks ground- ;)!
Your HA's are where it's at. Definitely C:
I recently made a cute tank top, but it's wrinkled and in my dirty clothes rn. I've also been on a headband creation spree lately. I'll get pics of everything I've done this week and try to post them. I've been using my bf's macbook because my kitten Riot ate my laptop charger (for the 2nd time). He is an actual demon. Hopefully I can find a way to upload my photos.
edit --- I'll use my bf's phone! derp.
Wow, so sorry for the late reply guys, I just didn't have to energy to respond to anything for a couple of days. ;n;
I'm not I can relate haha. I got my tablet a few months ago and I think my work has been improving in leaps and bound digitally. I was just stagnating when I drew traditionally.
I'm not sure, but I can see your art thread in the art market and you seem to have managed? If you could share your secrets I'd greatly appreciate it, haha. XD
I can't wait to see them! Your kitten sounds like "riot" though, haha. /gets shot
That's okay ! There are many times when i'm not in the mood to be social. This is why i choose to do lots of socializing on a forum where I can conveniently pick and choose the times I want to chat with people c:
/heals your wound
HOOKAYYYY... i kinda wasnt around for the past few days. :'D;; hi guys =w= ❤️
Hey! ;w; Thanks for stopping by the thread! Oooh man you first commission?! That is exciting! What are you drawing for this commission? My best friend's bf wants to commission me but he never saw my artwork. I am a bit weary. I feel like it's a ploy to try to get me to like him...since i mentioned to my friend i didnt like him LOL.
actually when I first got them, I was in school so I didn't use them as much as I want to. The markers have a long shelf life so I have no worries about them dying. The only thing I should do is replace the nibs for some of them. 3 I've been meaning to stop by the art store that sells them but...lazy and it's far and their hours suck. :c /excuses
FLOWERS ARE TAKING OVER MY SKETCHBOOK :I and yes he is a beginner gardener. no name yet. I'll probably name him fred or something (hahhaa) maybe travis ahaha.
and I missed the pawn alert you gave me. u_u but I've been checking the shop periodically and so far I dont see anything I want... yet.
!! I am thinking to get a sewing machine actually! I want to learn how to sew. 3 do you have any good beginner tutorials you can share with me?
-- something from my sketchbook
and yes. so this machine is on sale... not sure if this is a really good deal or not. it's only on sale for today. any thoughts?
That seems like a good price for a nice machine like that, but for a beginner I would actually recommend the machine I use C:! Plus, it is like 100 bucks cheaper. Any Singer machine would be great though.
If you do have the extra money to spend go ahead and get the nicer machine. I would love to have a nice one, but I've had no problems with my machine at all. It has worked super well for me. I have had mine for about 5 years and i love it. c: It is definitely what I would recommend.
oph!! you know that means the deal ended. It was $99.99 just a few hours ago. Thanks for the recommendation! I'll take a look at that machine. :3
