Jack sighed looking in the mirror fixing any last minute touch ups, it being the smokey look around her deep green eyes, tucking a stray piece of hair back into a flowered clip creating colorful streaks on the side of her head, or just smoothing out her strapless black and white polka-dot pinup inspired cocktail dress. Checking the time on her phone seeing it was almost time to go she called for a cab to arrive at her hotel for a specific time, with just enough to get to the venue on time. This party made her curious, why was she even invited. As she slipped on her red pumps and grabbed her spiderweb detailed clutch, many thoughts of why ran into her head. The one Jack seemed to convince herself on was of course one involving music. Maybe this was her chance for her big break, finally catch the dream of being a serious producer. Tucking her clutch under her arm she began playing with some of her various rings on most of her fingers, except for the most important ring finger, nothing graced that finger.

The cab eventually slowed in front of one of many large buildings, this one in particular was where the party was being held. After paying Jack carefully and gracefully as she could stepped out of the car smoothing her dress back out again as she made her way up to the doors entering into the building. Following the others Jack readied her ID, fairly certain she was going to be on the list, hoping at least she was. Looking around there wasn't much of anyone she knew, or let alone recognized. But that was again in her mind, all having to do with getting into a new industry. Easily passing the bouncers Jack carefully strolled in the larger ball room, a few people speckled the through out the room. Even more looking around just scanning the crowd.

well thank ya for clearin that up c=

Here's a group to make life easier on the rest of us

Ronnie tucked the last loose strands of her blonde hair into her bun, sweeping her bangs off to the right side of her face frowning at the single lock that uncurled itself from the others. 'Maybe I should schedule a hair cut sometime soon...' the fleeting thought was interrupted by a low whine being emitted by her faithful companion, head resting in-between his front paws, his bi-colored eyes giving off an expression begging for pity. A tender smile curved its way onto pale painted lips,"Jasper, I'd bring you if I could but apparently dogs fall into the category of unwelcome party guests" she muttered, kneeling beside the husky, stroking his furry cheeks affectionately. Rising gracefully, Ronnie brushed off the remaining dog hair from her white sleeve-less dress overlaid in black-lace, reaching down to stroke Jasper's ears one last time, before straightening out her knee-length skirt and slipping into her silver wedges."Be good," one arm in her leather jacket more whimpering caught her attention once again as Jasper nudged at a camera lying on the sofa, "Thanks bud, it'd be hard to do my job without this," the hotel door shut with a click

It took longer to catch a cab than she had expected, it seems this party was going to be more crowded than she had anticipated. A sigh escaped Ronnie's lips as the sound of the yellow car was off and running again as she walked up towards the building, hoping that the line was to move quickly. Holding a card between her middle and index finger of ID showing she was hired to photograph this evening's activities, before tucking the slip back into her jacket pocket. Clicking a few pictures of the entryway here and there along with anything that caught her interest, this wasn't much of a job more as the company sending Ronnie in to make nice with some of the more well-known names that were rumored to be about this evening.Glancing around the ball room there wasn't anyone who caught her attention, either familiar or famous, 'Seems like this is just another one of those parties' Ronnie thought, as she draped her jacket over one of the chairs, pinning her ID card on the belt cinched at her waist while fiddling with the camera in her hands to pass the time.

Kai was nervous.

He fiddled with his keys as he sat in the car outside the designated meeting place. There was no real reason why he should be nervous, but a part of him wondered whether or not everyone has grown out of highschool. The last thing he needs is to be judged based on the fact he has a kid. But then again, it's up to him to let them know that. Why lie though? Most of them were all friends once.

Kai finally dragged himself out of his car once he noticed that people were arriving. He strolled over to what seemed like a bouncer of sorts and quickly pulled out his ID. Although Kai was here for the get together, he was also hired for being the Paramedic on scene in case anything bad happened. Nothing should go wrong though, as long as everyone acts their age. The guy gave him a quick nod and allowed Kai access into the place. There were quite a lot of people already and he doubted anymore would show up. Kai was always late to the party though, nothing new about that.

Taking a quick glance around the room he noticed a striking blonde girl. "Ronnie?" He asked himself, trying to get a good look at her without looking like a creep. He's never told anyone before, but back in their sophmore year he use to have a giant crush on the girl. His best friend had a crush on her too however, so Kai never bothered to act on his feelings. Walking casually, he went up to Ronnie, a warm smile on his face.

"Ronnie King? I'm not sure if you'll remember me but I'm Kai Nomura." He greeted, holding his hand out to shake.

OoC// It's not the highschool reunion, It's a "Coincidental meeting" at a big, swanky party, just so you know :)

BiC// He folded the paper up, stuck it back in his pocket, and limped inside. He made his way to the podium onstage, "'Scuse me everyone, Take a seat please, we shall start shortly.." He waited for everyone to sit down, watching as the crowd came in from outside. Oh BOY there were more than he had planned for. His PTSD started to kick in. His head started to hurt, and his heart rate slowly started to go up. But he kept his composure, nobody in the crowd would know he's not right at the moment. He flipped through the couple sheets of paper on the podium for a minute, ran his fingers through his short, smoothed over hair, cleared his throat, and smiled as he approached the mic once more.

"Alright, Hello everyone, and welcome to the Annual Smith and Brandon And company Dinner. My name is Ruarc Casey, I'm a boardmember and head of Security, physical and otherwise for the company. I am speaking on their behalf to say 'Welcome!' if you are sitting here tonight, my bosses have taken interest in working with YOU and your company, their assets and trade. Your company will get mine known, and in turn mine will provide you with Security, which is my department. Seeing how I just might be personally working with you one day," He scanned the crowd, his crooked smile slowly working its way on his face" Lemme tell you a little about myself. Like I said before, My name is Ruarc Casey, 27 years old. Before I started working here, I was a soldier in the US army. I did 3 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. I had to retire medically after an Injury I sustained during my last tour. Not only does my company look after its stocks, they look after their people. Brandon Smith, CFO of the company, is a personal friend of mine, he gave me a job, allowed me to prove myself, and to get to where I am today. You will not regret this deal, so now, without anymore waiting, Let's have some fun!"

He stepped off the stage as the band behind him started up, they had a bigband backing up a small rockband, with a jazz/ska sound to it. He limped towards the door, pushing past waiters as they filed out to take peoples orders for food and drink. The door almost came off its hinges as he slammed it open. His hand shakily went for his pack of cigarettes. He stuck one in his mouth and lit it as he stared at the Vegas night sky. Although it was in his head, the gunfire sounded as real as it could. It started out quiet and distant, but just like that day, it started getting louder as they neared the fighting.

PFC. Casey was manning the .50 cal machine gun on top of the humvee when they pulled into the city, the fighting already heavy. He pulled the action back on the gun, racking a shell into the chamber, he began firing. His sergeant was yelling something at him from the passenger seat, when the Humvee in front of theirs exploded. Ruarc got a couple shots off before scrambling over the top. He dove for the nearest corner, and began firing back. That's when The man came around the corner with an RPG....

Glancing up to where the voice originated from Jack didn't look long enough to realize who the guy speaking was. But she followed his instruction, pulling out her phone to check it as she meandered to a seat. She tucked her phone back into her clutch setting it on her lap hearing the speaker clear his throat. Jack's head lifted slowly and seemingly uninterested as his voice started to fill the room. There was a moment of possible recognition but she simply brushed that off as he had one of those faces. That is until he said his name. Her eyes lit up a little, a stronger stroke of recognition. For a quick moment the rest of his words weren't registering in her mind, it was racing to try and figure out where she remembered him from. His words started fading back into her conscious as he shared about himself. That was it, high school. She remembered losing touch with him when he went to basic and she was on tour and trying to record. That's when she lost most contact with almost everyone she was friends with other than her band at the time. Especially after when she finally moved to Chicago, not wanting anything to do with anyone from home after the semi-bitter break up of the band.

She was hoping that when he was finished speaking he would walk past the tables so she could stop him, instead he didn't as the band started. She listened for a moment, loving the unique set up of the bands, and the sound, thinking she'd love to record them, at least try out messing with recordings of them, seeing how the inner workings worked for them. Her attention was pulled back out of the music side by a looming waiter, with a quick glance around the room looking for where Ruarc went, all she saw was the closing door. Glancing back up at the waiter with his many questions to try and get her attention she finally answered, politely waited for the waiter to leave before setting her sights on where she thought he exited.

Carefully excusing herself from the table for the moment she tried to gracefully and quickly go to the door holding her clutch tightly in her hand. Her walk slowed approaching the door, unsure if she was actually allowed to be there, she didn't care and figured if it would be fine if he did remember her. Slowly than he did, but not so slowly her exit didn't look natural Jack slipped out. "Ruarc Casey?" She asked softly, and a little shakily unsure of how exactly she should have addressed him at the moment. She kept some what of a distance not wanting to startle him in his seemingly distracted state. Stopping just a few steps away, she softly asked again, "Ruarc?" Going with a more friendly approach and just waiting for an answer from there, putting both hands on her clutch to keep from playing with the skirt of her dress.

((I hope it's not too late to join, I just really like the look of this. I'm going to post a skellie while I have ideas, I hope you don't mind...

skeleton Name: Hazel Lynette Boniface Nickname: Haze Age: 27 Gender: Female How do they make a living?: Editor in publishing. Is being commissioned to write a novel. What had they done these past couple years?: Since leaving school, Hazel went to university where she majored in English and Creative Writing, and achieved a First class honours degree. She immediately got a job in publishing as a personal assistant, but once her editor took leave and finally left due to having a baby, Hazel was given a promotion. At the same time, Hazel has had 2 books of poetry published by the company she works for and has since been commissioned to write a romantic novel. Whilst at university, Hazel met a man to whom she later got married, at the age of 22. Two years on, they had a daughter, however Hazel was never happy in the relationship. As their daughter, Rebecca, was nearing her first birthday, Hazel moved out with Rebecca and the two got a hasty divorce. Her ex-husband, Peter, doesn't know that Hazel realised 2 years into their marriage that she was a lesbian, and this is her reason for leaving. Appearances: Hazel is a pale, slender woman with a thick mane of auburn-brown hair. Her eyes are a pale green and her nose possesses a collection of little freckles. Hazel is slim, average in height, and has medium-sized breasts. She is, to say the least, an attractive woman. She has full pink lips and a brilliant white smile. Personality: Hazel takes special care to be calm, kind and gentle with all people, however she cannot stand unkind people or those who deliberately cause harms to others. She doesn't like anger in any form and is accepting of all people where she can be, however she can be quite gullible and sometimes naive. Hazel also doesn't let anyone tell her she needs a man to look after her, or anyone else for that matter; she can do it all. As Hazel's job can be very full-on and her personal life can be difficult, she is almost always stressed, but she fuctions well in stressful situations. Other: Hazel is currently single and lives with her daughter Rebecca. She would like more children one day, but so far has no plan for how to do it. Hazel as a teen Hazel now

((Awesome, thanks :) I'll just post an intro straight away then. Don't worry, I know it looks long, but my other posts won't be quite so long; I normally put as much into my intros as I can, especially when it's a new character))

It had certainly been a long day. Hazel had got in late that evening and collapsed onto the sofa with a sigh. Four meetings was enough for one day, but she'd had to miss lunch and snack in between meetings, freshening her breath with gum before an author slipped into her office, and typing up book descriptions and synopses of those that she liked the look of where she could. She was championing 5 novels at the time, excluding her own which was being handled by another editor, and had seen 3 more that had captured her interests. Unfortunately, after several hours of business correspondence via email, she'd discovered that one wasn't willing to wait and she'd had to pass him on to another editor. She couldn't take on 8 authors at once, she'd had to tell herself, knowing that even for her 8 was too many.

Before she'd had a chance to even slip off her jacket, a squealing voice enveloped her, followed by a tiny person tugging her cream pencil skirt. "Hey sweetie," Hazel whispered to her daughter, and smiled up at the babysitter as the girl entered the room. The babysitter was named Emily, around 15 years, and saving for college, she'd said. On the coffee table, Hazel could see the girl's biology notes scattered everywhere. There was a cup of half-finished milk in her hand, and Hazel reached for it. "Are you going to finish your milk, Rebecca?" she asked, as she was handed it, and Rebecca reached towards it with grabby, grabby hands.

"I really appreciate this," Hazel told Emily, knowing the girl would be in her home until about 10 in the evening and had been since 8 in the morning. This function tonight didn't seem to have a point to it, but she'd been told by 'the men upstairs' that she needed to go. Emily quickly let her know that it was fine and she needed the money anyway. She had no school that day and appreciated the work, too.

Hazel left Rebecca with Emily and rushed upstairs to get ready for the function. She pulled on a slim-fitting, emerald green cocktail dress, attractive but business-like enough to suit. Her auburn hair needed but a quick brush, and her make-up just a touch up. Her eyes shone brightly despite the long day. On the way out, Hazel grabbed a clutch purse and filled it with the necessities (business ID and cards, driver's license, money, keys) and kissed Rebecca on the way out. She really didn't have time to stop, and leapt in her big-enough-for-one-and-a-baby car.

Upon arriving, Hazel pulled into a space in the underground garage of the venue. Clutch purse in her hand, she flashed her business ID at the door, and slipped through the crowd to a group of rapidly-filling tables. At one, she saw a woman she vaguely recognised. Slightly muscular, blonde hair tinged with colours at the front, and an undeniably-familiar face; Hazel quickly identified her as Jack, a girl she'd known at high school. She seemed mostly unchanged, but for the tattoos that crept up one arm. Hazel toyed with the idea of going over and saying hi, worrying that it would be embarrassing. Hazel, a woman who dealt with 4 meetings a day and countless numbers of insolent authors who all thought their book was the most amazing, was worried she couldn't handle a girl who still looked like a teenager. Of course, Hazel had fond memories of that teenager, and she wondered what Jack was like now.

A flash went off to the right of her, and a familiar voice filled the air. "Ronnie? Ronnie King?" it said. She recognised that name and that voice, though they didn't belong together. Ronnie, she remembered, was another girl she'd known at high school, a friend of Jack's and hers, actually. The voice, when she thought about it, she realised belonged to a guy they'd all known, called Kai. Hazel looked towards the voice and there they were. She was about to go over, when her thoughts were interrupted.

Hazel turned sharply towards a podium she hadn't previously noticed. It seemed she would see many old friends here, but, at this rate, never actually get to speak to them. Speaking to the suddenly-large crowd from a microphone on the podium was Ruarc Casey, yet another high school friend. This would be a strange evening. Ruarc explained that there must be some interest between his company and hers (though she knew he spoke to all the guests of the occasion), and wondered what Carnation Publishing Inc. needed more security for. She watched as Ruarc limped from the stage and realised he must have joined the army like he'd intended; Hazel hadn't liked this idea, and had rapidly gone off him after learning this. Now, strangely, she pitied him.

With a glance at the table in front of her, Hazel saw Jack speeding away - towards the stage and Ruarc. She clearly remembered him, too, and wanted to catch up. Hazel, instead, turned to the two nearby her, hoping they would be allow her to contribute to their conversation. Both were as attractive as they used to be, though Ronnie's youthful looks had, she could see, matured into beauty. Kai still had the youthfulness that many Japanese men seemed to possess. Trying her best to use the confidence she had in the office, Hazel smiled at the pair. "Hi, Ronnie, Kai. It's been a long time since we've spoken." She held out her hand for them to shake. "Hazel Boniface."

More bodies were already filling in the already crowded room and with the small space she had to breathe, Ronnie took in the decor of the room. Stunning, gorgeous, what was expected from the rumors surrounding the place, and she dare say picturesque. Click it was her job to showcase the venue to the best of her abilities, a flash, but it was rather disappointing as beautiful as it was, the place was so superficial. It had nothing on the breath-taking views she'd captured out in the fresh air, she mused while scanning through the images already within her camera's memory. A sense of nostalgia hit home at a picture of several teenagers all huddled together to make it into the frame, ridiculous expressions on their faces, the sunset backdrop peaking in from in between the bodies and edges. That had been an amazing camping trip the last one they all went on together, right before the beginning of senior year. 'Jack...Hazel... Kai and Ruarc...Me. How long had it been?'

An oh-so familiar voice cut through her reminiscence as one of the boys in the image materialized to stand before her, looking as young as he did eight years ago. Painted lips curved into a teasing smirk, "You think I would forget you Kai? We all practically lived together senior year...it's been awhile," she ignored the hand, instead throwing her arms around his neck for a brief hug, noticing with a slight huff even in wedges she was still forced onto her tip-toes. Releasing Kai she was about to ask him the typical questions of "What have you been up to?", "How's the wife," so on and so forth when an old voice caught her attention and she quietly listened to the speaker. A slight downwards turn to her lips at his tone of voice, something happened...something bad this wasn't like him...normally. She watched the man limp away from the large mass of party-goers usually the type to join the crowd, cringing internally at the sound of the slammed door echo throughout the party, 'Ruarc...what happened to you?'

Ronnie didn't have much time to worry before a smile well-known to her made it's way over to her and Kai. Another grin fought the frown previously gracing her expression, holding up the camera to capture the familiar face, "Say 'cheese' Haze," a shining smile overtaking her expression at the women's pose. Placing the camera on the table she graced Hazel with the same actions she did towards Kai. "Well, first there was Kai, then Jack and Ruarc, and now you...we getting the group back together or something?" Ronnie questioned her old habit of tilting her head to the slightly to the right still present after all these years.

(Happy Birthday)

"Say cheese, Haze!" As she was speaking, another flash blinded her and Hazel was forced to blink into the end of her sentence. Ronnie had always had a love for the camera, more so than for any guy, Hazel thought. Not for want of admirers, she mused, grinning in response to a stunning smile on her old friend's face. The red-head was immediately enveloped in a warm hug; one that said 'where have you been?', 'I miss you', and 'this is a surprise' all in one, Hazel draped her arms over Ronnie's back in return, winking at Kai over the girl's shoulder.

"This is a complete surprise to me," she replied. Ronnie's head tilted to the side, even as Hazel held her at arm's length to examine her, like she did when Rebecca stayed with her father. "You look so well, you too, Kai." She kissed his cheek, hoping it wasn't overstepping the mark. A younger Hazel would have done it all the time, afterall. "I think we should sit down, get some drinks, and talk a little, yes?"

Moving towards a table with slender hands placed on the arms of her old friends, Hazel thought about how little she talked with people on a daily basis, except aspiring authors; perhaps that was the reason for her sudden blabbermouth? The hands left their arms briefly as they passed a man in full 'penguin' garb and she lifted three champagne flutes carefully off his tray. When she slipped into a plush seat, she felt a sudden weight lift from her feet. "I've been on my feet all day," she mused aloud, before remembering her companions. She handed them each a glass. "What have you both been up to?"

A voice halfway helped with the rescue from the freakout. "Hm? Ow shit!" The cigarette he had lit minutes before had burnt down all the way to his fingers, and he hasn't hit it yet. He threw the burning stub away before grabbing another one and lighting it, his fingers smarting from being burnt."Please direct any questions to bobby welsh. Thanks" he said, giving her a shoe glance before looking back to the skyline. Waitasecond....

He turns back to her, the cigarette almost dropping from his mouth. "Jack? Dear lord it's been ages. What are you doing here?" He limped forward a step to give her a hug, setting the cigarette down on a table. "You look fantastic! Almost the same as highschool, just more mature! How're things? How's the band? We have some catching up to do."

He couldn't believe it, all through highschool they had a thing going. Crazy teenage love was all he could describe it as, and she came waltzing back into his life. Even if it was just for this evening it would be a joy.

(Thank you~)

Kai wrapped his arms around Ronnie's waist tightly as she hugged him.

Before he could ask any questions, a small speech started. He was never a great public speaker and thankfully he never really has to talk to a group of people with his line of work but he admired Ruarc's courage. Granted, he probably didn't have much of a say. Kai watched his old class mate struggle after the speech and watched him practically run out of the exit. "Maybe he just needs air. He thought to himself, but a part of him wanted to go after him. Back in highschool, he wasn't close nor distant from Ruarc. Most of the time they spent together was goofing off and playing harmless pranks. Kai wished he got to know him, but now Ruarc seems completely different.

He spun around as soon as he heard Hazel, smiling at her. Kai remembered her always being cheerful. He accepted the kiss on the cheek, and willingly joined her at the table.

"It's good to see you guys again." Kai said, taking a sip from the champagne. "I haven't been doing much actually. Just busy being a Paramedic now, I was lucky to even get time to come to this gathering."

"Um sorry" Jack said softly when she heard him snap out of wherever he was. "Might be a stupid question but are you alright?" She asked still keeping a few steps distance. She swallowed hard hoping he'd remember her and that she wasn't just making a fool out of herself by basically running after him. Even after all these years Jack could still cared a great deal for Ruarc, she hated that they lost touch. This night was clearly full of new hopes.

A small smile danced across her lips when he finally recognized her. Just to hear him say her name again made her light up a little more. "I was invited to the party" She motioned to the building, before giving him a hug back. That familiar smell wafting back to her nose. "Oh thank you" She smiled snapping back to the here and now. "Things are going well, except for the band. We haven't been together in maybe 7 years, one tour and it changed the guys, they weren't ready for fame." She explained a little. "But yes, there is plenty of catching up to do, and I'd love to start now if you have time?"

Ronnie followed the other women's lead gladly, taking the offered drink as well as the seat beside her listening curiously to the question and reply of her two companions. "Sounds like work has had us both busy, how's the dream job going?" she asked, giving Kai's arm a friendly pat.

"Finally put my fancy of cameras to work, I'm actually here to photograph this evening's activities," the blonde gave her camera a few loving pats before remembering another new important addition to her life. "I also got the dog I was always talking about." Reaching over to grab her jacket Ronnie fished through the pockets pulling out a slightly wrinkled picture of furry face sliding it over to Hazel, "This baby boy is called Jasper, so what have you been up to?" she wondered aloud, tossing the question up in the air waiting for some to grab it as she took a sip from the thin glass in her hand.

Paramedic! That sounded stressful, Hazel thought. Irony, perhaps, that a woman with such a demanding life should think another's job particularly stressful over her own. "Sounds like you could have a lot on your plate there," she said with a smile, "But I imagine it brings its own rewards?" She thought of people wounded in car accidents - though it had become politically incorrect to call them anything other than 'traffic collisions', or so she'd been told - and thought of Kai helping those people feel safer even as they lay bleeding, or of elderly men and women who had fallen or had heart problems, and how he might not be able to save people. "Sounds like it could be harrowing, though," she whispered.

As quickly as that moment had come, however, it passed again. Ronnie spoke of her dream job and how she was actually working right now. "I'm working too," Hazel said with a shrug, then grinned at the mention of the companion the other woman had always wanted. The blonde scrabbled about in her pockets, goodness knew what for, and Hazel found a well-loved photograph pushed in front of her. "He's adorable," she grinned, holding it for Kai to see. "No dogs here, just a daughter." Hazel felt the urge to get out her own photograph and proffered her three-year old towards the pair. They'd never had pets after they discovered Peter's allergy to animal fur, but their beautiful, dark haired daughter more than made up for it. Perhaps if Hazel got a partner, Rebecca could have a pet, one day.

Jack nodded a little, "Sounds good to me" She smiled slowly breaking her eyes away from him so she wouldn't stumble walking back in. She followed carefully, walking though the door. "It's alright, it actually opened up doors for a more promising profession, still in the music industry but nothing is promising I guess. Um, right over here" Jack nodded heading over to the table she was previously at, the one right next to the table the rest of the group had ended up sitting at. "So how have you been?" She asked trying to talk over the crowd, so she leaned in a little closer to him.

"It has it's moments where I just want to call it quits. But I remind myself that I am actually making a difference in the patients life." Kai replied, half smiling.

Plenty of people have died on him. But he tells himself that at least the last thing the patient sees before they pass is him doing everything he can to save them. Unfortunately, having ghosts comes with the job. Kai wasn't surprised that Ronnie and Hazel went through with the jobs they had planned 8 years ago, they were wizards in their field. Kai cooed as Ronnie and Hazel showed pictures, both the animal and daughter were cute, so wanting to get in on this adorable fest Kai pulled out a picture of his own.

"This is Lynn, she turned 6 a couple of months ago." He said, pushing the picture towards them.

It was a picture of just him holding her as one of his friends took a picture of them. She was half-asian but thankfully, in his opinion, she took on a lot of his traits. But before he could add anything more, he noticed Jack and Ruarc walk back in, Ruarc seemingly back to the way he was before the speech, and he tried to catch their attention by waving them over. Jack hardly looked like she changed, just a little more grown up and a more sophisticated look. There was nothing wrong with that, Kai always admired that she managed to look amazing no matter what she wore, along with being a fan of her awesome musical talent. Kai went to her band's concert when they first started out, he actually was a huge fan of them but then he stopped hearing about them and often came close to calling her up and asking what happened. But he is in no position to ask.

Just as he was sitting, movement coming from the table next to theirs caught his eye. The rest of the group was sitting there. How did this come to be? "Well would you look at this! Kai, Ronnie AND Haze as well?" he asked, now scooting the chair in between the two tables "What an awesome surprise! Damn, is it good to see you folks." He said, sitting in the chair he just pulled up. "How is everyone doing? Come on, lets hear it!"

Tonight might just be the beginning of his life looking up.

We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say "Kiss my Irish ass! ya better kiss my Irish ASS!"

Kai's daughter really was adorable! Hazel grinned at his photo, a little Asian girl with just a touch of white in her - she assumed the mother was white - who looked very much like her father. The redhead suddenly had the urge to arrange play-dates, but as Lynn was three years older than Rebecca, it may not work well. If we become friends again, she supposed, Lynn and Rebecca may be friends, too.

Hazel thought about when she'd lost touch with Kai. Ruarc had been the first one she'd lost touch with, then Jack as she'd created her band and seemingly disappeared, then Kai, and finally Ronnie. Ronnie and she had spoken probably just before she'd agreed to marry Peter, around 5 years ago. Kai, however, knew nothing of Peter or Rebecca, she assumed, and Hazel in turn knew nothing of Kai's wife. She wondered if they were together still, but was worrying about asking. "She's really lovely, Kai, very cute! What did you do for her birthday?"

Hazel stilled a little when Ruarc scooted his chair over to them, but smiled all the same. They had been friends, by all means, but had always been slightly at odds due to their ethics. It occurred to her that Ruarc had probably killed men in his life, and she suppressed a shudder. "It certainly is good to see everyone," she replied, carefully. Somehow, she couldn't meet his eye, and also carefully avoided looking at his leg; conspicuous by its injury. "I'm content enough, my daughter and I look after each other and I love my job..." Hazel was aware of how lucky she was to be genuinely happy with her life, even if she was a little stressed.
