Dino cake! Wicked (:
Bahaha, I'll be sure to drop by to try and jack some crumb! I'm starting work at the Second Cup not too far away from her place! I'm gonna smell like a coffee bean all the time ^_____^
[flower=Cloves]
- Secretly inside I'm five years old.
Purple cake is awesome. I haven't had DQ in 2 years I think... yeah, probably 2 years, there isn't one near me.
collecting Oooh nice =o gosh all I smell like lately is a charcoal barbecue xD
Really? They're literally everywhere here.
- I live in a small town in the northwoods of Wisconsin...
- Thank you !
collecting Happy birthday :D Happy birthday to you as well!
Did you guys get anything cool today or have any celebration?
Thank you =) Bah, midnight =(
Thank you!! Got some great presents, both in RL and on Subeta =) and celebrated with some friends on Friday night. All in all, a pretty decent birthday =)
- Nope, because my plans had to be scrapped, annoying, but, unfortunately not surprising, and I ended up spending the day at my parents ... my family doesn't celebrate birthdays, I do. It was awkward and a little frustrating, but I will tomorrow, so it's okay. A one day delay is disappointing, but not 'that' bad.
collecting Why aren't either of you out partying the night away?
It was my neighbor's birthday today as well. He turned 66. We had a pool party and I spent the entire day with them. He has six kids and they are all married and average out to having two kids each themselves. So yeah, LOTS of people were there XD I'm so tired.
That's good :) My day was good too pokes story above lol
Aw that sucks :( I spent a whole day today with a family that loves celebrating things together and it was great. I think all families should be like that. My last birthday was a bust. My boyfriend threw me a party at his place and invited a bunch of people I know. But most of them didn't show and most of the ones that did show, left early. With some pretty crappy excuses. :/ some of 'em even lied to me. Butttt oh well. At least the people who really did care about me were there for me (: and we had an okay time.
- Because on a Sunday night in a small town nothing is open... and I have a kidlet to get up in the morning for school.
- Well it's how I was raised, but I'm not a part of their religion any more so days like today and things that I say/do are just giant awkward moments or guilt ridden trips and bleh drama. They use the excuse that "you don't need a special day to get together and have a good time" which I get, but, I don't like the whole because MY plans are diametrically opposed to their theology, it means mine are unimportant and that I am expected to drop mine to do for their plans. I didn't mind, not really, I helped my sister with some things she needed since she has a new baby (Oh god he is SO SO CUTE ) but it was annoying to have to, and then when some things were said to make it feel as though mine were unimportant and throwaway plans, that's where I was a lot more aggravated.
collecting Oh goodness I know how you feel. It sucks that they think like that :( If they believe that you don't need a special occasion to get together and have a good time, then what does it matter whether you're trying to have a good time for an occasion or not? (I hope that made sense) I mean, it's like people tell one of my friends "God loves you no matter if you wear nice clothes or not" Cause she wears nice clothes to her church and then sometimes goes shopping after. These strangers are telling her this and I think it's weird. I mean, if God loves you whether you wear nice clothes or not, then what do they care if she wears nice clothes or not? Not bringing religion into this or anything, just saying that when people say stuff like that, it doesn't make any sense to me. If you know what I mean?
Anyways, your plans should hold some priority to people. I mean they're supposed to love you and stuff and what's important to you should be important to them. (I hope I'm not too forward or frustrating you in any way! >.< )
- Lol oh I know where you are coming from, it makes sense, and my said the same thing, that even though they don't agree with my plans, common respect for them should at least be there. It wasn't the breaking of the plans that I minded, because my sister DID need the help, it was the assumption that mine were throwaway, and when I mentioned yesterday that I would come over, but I wanted to bring the duck and make duck for supper ... my mom told me that "If it was some birthday thing I won't eat it."
No, you don't need a special reason, but they're so careful to make sure that there ISN'T a special reason to get together, that even an "accidental" overlap on dates is cause for alarm, in that same way, because the special occasion taints it, example, my mom makes a turkey 'around' Thanksgiving but never ever EVER ON Thanksgiving, because then it is a Thanksgiving celebration, and she won't do that.
I like wearing dresses, hehe, I actually find it kind of a shame that women aren't as inclined to dress like ladies much any more, like they need a reason to wear a dress, if they even own one. I like femininity. I wore a dressy outfit today, skirt and blouse, and it made me feel like a lady :) But it does give off that formal thing, when a decade or two ago, it wasn't as unusual, or requiring comment.
collecting Because it's Sunday night and most people have work tomorrow lol and because I've been partying for my birthday since Thursday =P now I'm exhausted.
omg, really? that is so dumb. What does it matter if it was a "birthday thing" or not? My birthday is in November and one year, quite a few years ago, for one of my parties I was thinking of having a masquerade type party (Totally nothing to do with Halloween, just a normal masquerade) But my best friend's parents weren't gonna let her come because it was "too close to Halloween" and they "didn't want any association with it" They are super against Halloween. Personally, I don't celebrate it but that's got nothing to do with religion, but I'm not going to hate people that DO celebrate it, you know? So I couldn't have a party like that cause I wanted my best friend to come. I was mad at the time cause if my birthday wasn't so close to Halloween, a masquerade would've been fine with her parents -_-
I went dress shopping with my friend yesterday and it was fun. I wish I had worn more dresses when I was little and growing up because they can be so pretty. But yeah, these complete strangers are hating on her cause she feels like dressing nice to go to church. They were like super surprisingly rude and obnoxious about it. I mean, how are they to know she doesn't just take pride in herself and dress nicely every day of the week? They really have no place to say things like that to her.
- Because Jeeeeesus never celebrated holidays, you know, and so we have to do everything he did.... 'sigh'
Grr that's so irritating when people do that, just because you're wearing a dress doesn't make you a sanctimonious holier than thou showoff. Sure SOME do, but that's just rude to assume such. Hell maybe she didn't even come from church, people don't all go on Sunday, goodness gracious.
Bet those people's heads would have spun then :D :D :D
collecting Exactly! Those stuck-up people may be super annoying, but that really doesn't give others the right just scold someone they don't even know about it.
- I might wear the same outfit tomorrow, I might swap the skirt for pants, if it's raining, it was pretty wet today, and the skirt goes to the floor nearly, so we'll see. I have ot walk to the store to go pick up my cake, and wearing shoes with a skirt that long isn't practical, and my other skirt that would match is just as long :D
- Thank you :D :D
collecting I'd probably go with pants tomorrow if I were you :P I hope you have lots of fun celebrating and stuffies :3
