I don't have experience about that because I got my first job when I was 15 through my mom... and have worked there since. It's just that now I'm quitting. I'm super worried no one will hire me anymore... but I have three years of work experience plus all the volunteer work I've done, so my hopes are up. I'm still just a student without any kind of papers (if you don't count compulsory school), so I'm not sure if that will still be enough. I believe the employment status in Finland is a bit better than in the UK, though.

But that sucks, really. I know many young people who would like to get a job but can't because they don't have experience. /: It doesn't make SENSE that it's like that... how do they even get anyone employed? Where do people get this magical work experience without work places? In Finland cities offer jobs for people aged 15-17 so they would get at least some foundation for their work life, but it's hard to get those jobs (plus I've outgrown them, anyway). Ugh.

gee, that sucks big time. is that one of the reasons why everyone says you shouldn't move to England because things there suck? /: (also I'm 90% sure I've seen you say you live in the UK before, but I might be wrong, in which case, I'm sorry (': )

yeh it does, and it really doesn't help with amount of immigrants that are here that have increased are population to an crazy amount. I don't mean to sound racist but a lot of people come over from poorer countrys who are willing to work less for national minimum wage or minimum wage, to the point where even jobs you need skills for are even set at the minimum. Whilst i was in Austria i did what i would call a crap job, working in a warehouse, if I want to do that job here I would get paid minimum wage which i think its 6 pounds 40 or something, in fact any job i want to do is at that level of pay because they can set it low because everyone is just so desperate for work. For a warehouse job in Austria i was get 10 euros an hour and bonuses some months so i was coming home with nearly 2000 euro a month which to me was lot of money for the job i was doing.

I'm having a heck of a time finding a job as well. It doesn't help that I need something where I can sit because of spinal problems. So that severely cuts down everything. I'm wanting something in administration, anything desk work really. References has become the main problem however. Besides some brief contracted temp work and some stuff when I was fifteen that is way too long ago, I've only ever worked for myself, and people don't seem to quite fathom that no, you don't always need to take a class, or be guided by someone to know how to create and run a successful business. :x Having been self employed seems more like a burden now.

ah, yeah. I'm all for taking in immigrants (at least in Finland), but there are problems that should be solved BEFORE they take more of them in. /: the taking in of immigrants should not risk the income or quality of life of the people already living in there, that's madness. although I'm pretty sure there's more sides to this problem than just this one, we've got the same problem in Finland (actually, I'm pretty sure any country in the world with a lot of immigrants is having the exact same problem...), just on a smaller scale since there aren't many immigrants in Finland. go figure why no one hasn't done anything about it? maybe there should be laws to prevent this from happening? idk, I'm not too read up on politics, I might be wrong. eep.

i dont really know how so many people to come in to be honest...I mean i understand the europeans because its the EU, but there are alot of those from Asia, i have no problems against them most of them are really lovely people and i have some close friends who come from over there, but in some parts of the UK there are more Asian people than there are English... also a problem with this is some of them come over here and do jobs for low income, live in small flat with lots of people and just send the money home to India or wherever.

yup. immigrants working for lower salaries and taking all the jobs is a problem :V it should be prevented somehow. (but then again, it would have to be made so that they still CAN get jobs... ugh the world is a hard place.)
