(loll I love your post xDD) Everest continued to glide towards the other dragon and watched with calm, observing blue eyes as Sora struggled a bit to change her route. Though she had some difficulty doing so, she was still ever so graceful than any other dragon he had seen. Remembering how much Sora loved to be in action and how she pretended to attack the city just to simply annoy the humans and stir up some trouble, he knew that she used her skill for that. He found disapproval in her juvenile actions. The humans never really did anything to her, right? Sometimes he didn't get how dragons liked to cause humans trouble.
"Hello, Sora." He had been overthinking again. He missed half of what she was saying, but caught some snippets of it. "Old Rower, huh? He doesn't cause too much trouble, does he now?" Everest shook his head slightly. "He's a bit old, isn't he? I'm sure you would mistake a human for a fruit tree too if you reached that age." He shrugged and chuckled.
Blair surveyed the injured hunter – her skin was extremely pale, but that was hardly a surprise due to her bloodied arm, but what was more surprising was the fact that with her long hair and unscarred skin, she was likely just a teenager. The Saviour accompanying her didn’t look much older.
Gods. They’re really starting them early now, aren’t they?
She pulled her attention back to the situation at hand, unzipping her bag to retrieve her medical supplies. “You did good,” Blair reassured the boy, “If it’s a dragon that did this, they carry nasty bugs in their teeth and claws. The wound needs to be disinfected.”

ooc: Might I join as a Savior?
Name: Zam Huxley Age: 20 Gender: Female Species: Human Rank: Savior Ability: None Element: None
Appearance: Zam is of average height and build, with dark skin, brown eyes, and long black cornrows tied back in a ponytail. Her arm muscles are fairly well developed from hefting heavy weaponry and large crates of medical equipment. She wears a weather-stained cream-colored shirt, olive green cargo pants, and heavy brown boots. Several pouches containing various medical supplies hang from her belt. Zam carries a standard-issue handgun but prefers her stun gun and tranquilizer darts, which have proved effective against dragons, marauding humans, and even the occasional hysterical patient.
Other Info: Zam fell to Earth with the power to heal others. Despite her hope that dragons and humans could one day coexist, she became a Savior rather than a Dragonrider in order to use her ability to help as many people as possible. She took great pride in her work of tending to the city’s wounded, but a few months later she awoke one day to find her healing power gone. She had used it up, perhaps, or it had been taken away by come cruel trick of the gods. Ever since then, she has become determined to work even harder to compensate for the fact that she is one of the Powerless.

Sora snorted at Everest. "Well, at least we don't have to worry about that for a loooooooooong, long time. And besides, even a senseless dragon can smell a human from a mile away. They absolutely reek!" She sneezed to emphasize her point.
Looking over Everest, she narrowed her eyes at some abstract point in the distance, becoming very serious. "No, but really. Who was that? You must have heard it too; it sounded pretty bad." After pausing dramatically for a moment, she grinned and shoved her face close to his. "Unless I'm going crazy! Woooooooooooooooooooo!" Cackling, Sora got out of his face and did a back-flip. [/font]

When he was finally in range of the dragon, James fired his gun. A blast of sticky bluish substance exploded from the barrel and hit the bronze in the back of the head. There was a moment of time that seemed completely still, but then the dragon bellowed it's last cry and fell to the ground of the quiet city. It's wings grazed the cold concrete of the buildings on either side of the street, but left them unmarred. When it finally made contact with the pavement, he fired another shot between it's shoulder blades and the dragon was dead. It took everything for James not to keep shooting. He called in a clean-up crew to get rid of the creature. He didn't know or care what they did with the corpses, so long as they were gone.
He glanced back at Cardine. He was stuck between inviting her to follow him to a rooftop or ditching her to do his own thing. Either way, he needed time to think. To grieve. He decided that the latter would be incredibly rude of him, so he flew closer to her and said, "If you want to come, I'm going to find someplace to think." He paused for a moment, "There hasn't been two attacks on the city in one day ever, so maybe we could patrol the forest or find a rooftop. If you don't want to come, that's understandable. But the offer's up."
Firth watched the bronze fall. He watched James consider leaving the other Savior, as they were called. He watched the boy decide not to be rude and invite the girl to go with him. And he hoped that they would go to the forest. Because there he would wait.
[[Gonna pop in my starter and work my way in. XD Looks like everyone's in the forest? Or at least headed to the forest?]]
Adrien snapped his book shut with the ever-pleasing ring of "The end" leaving his mouth, standing up from where he had been seated between Mercurial's clawed paws. He had snuck away from home (again) and had trotted off to read, meeting up with Merc on the way as was part of their usual, unspoken routine. Even now, he still had no idea how Mercurial always seemed to find him with ease, but it was nice nonetheless. Reading by himself was not nearly as fun as reading to Mercurial and listening to the dragon's snarky remarks as the two argued over interpretation. "It was good, right?" he asked, sliding the book into his bag as he stretched out the kinks from his body. "Especially the last scene. They fell off a waterfall! How much more exciting can it get?" The boy looked at his companion excitedly, brushing a few wayward bangs out of the way before dusting himself off and fixing his tie.
Mercurial snorted, looking unamused. Asides from Adrien's voice, the metallic bronze dragon cared little for the actual story. Detectives and London and the dangers that those characters faced were so tame considering the onwards strife between dragons and humans. Hunters, weren't they? Yes, Hunters, waving their weaponry around and disrupting the peace. "It was decent," he breathed, his go-to response when he wasn't paying attention, clamoring up to all four paws. Only the size of a drafthorse, Mercurial was definitely along the smaller side of his kind, not that it bothered him much, although it made defending himself a bit more of a struggle.
Lifting his head, he scanned the area cautiously. The two were in an isolated glade in the forest just outside the city, which was relatively peaceful if they did nothing but read, but lately, there had been more and more Hunters plodding around. It bothered the dragon. Adrien was fine wherever there were books, but Merc was very interested in staying alive for another day. Coupled with his general dislike of male humans in their prime, each reading venture was become more and more stressful for the beast. He would have liked Adrien to understand, but the boy was currently marching away from him, planning his next literary adventure. With a low grumble and a snap of his wings, he plodded after, telling himself that it was to keep him out of whatever trouble the boy was prone to getting himself into.
So immersed was he in his chattering that Adrien popped out of the thicket to find a group of people already occupying the space. He normally didn't find people in this route so he was momentarily stunned into silence, which Merc filled by popping up with a snarl, slamming a paw next to him. The cause of his distress: the adolescent male near the injured Hunter. "Oh," Adrien offered dumbly, raising a hand in greeting. "Hiya."
[[Whoops. Should probably ping the people I'm interacting with. XD ]]

"I'm afraid this is going to hurt."
A sickening crack split the air as Zam forced the small boy's shoulder back into its socket. The child wailed with pain, but Zam could see the color return to his mother's face as she saw her son's arm in a normal position once more.
The dragon attack had been quick, Zam reflected, but it had been messy. The sudden approach of the dragon had thrown the residents of the city into a frenzied panic, and the frightened citizens might have caused nearly as much damage as the dragon itself. According to his mother, the boy whose wounds Zam was tending had been nowhere near the dragon--he had been knocked over and trampled by a mob of people running for cover.
Zam and several other Saviors with medical training had set up a field hospital in the city's central plaza, at the foot of a formerly impressive stone edifice that might once have been a courthouse or other government building. From here, Zam could clearly see the carcass of the dragon. Five, ten minutes ago it had been such a threat, so horribly lethal, and now it was nothing more than a lump of dead meat. So too were the bodies left in the dragon's wake, ripped of their vitality in an instant. Zam shifted her gaze from the dragon to its slayer, who she could easily recognize as James. She could not, however, identify his companion at such a distance.
Zam shook her head, realizing she had been staring at the dragon and toying with a piece of gauze ever since she had handed her young patient off to his mother and a second Savior who had more experience treating children. She looked over at the boy, who returned her stare with wide eyes, frightened and accusatory. He was too young to realize what she had done for him, understanding only the sharp pain he had felt when she twisted his arm.
Zam found herself rummaging in her pockets, her fingers closing around a piece of dried fruit, the last of a small bag she'd acquired earlier that week. She rubbed some lint off the leathery orange fruit--apricot, maybe, she had forgotten--and wordlessly handed it to the boy. He nodded solemnly, unblinking, as he reached over to grab the treat with his one good arm. With that, Zam dusted her hands off, stood up, and looked once more to the two Saviors ahead, dwarfed by the body of the immense dragon.
Thunder boomed across the sky, though it was clear and no storm clouds brewed, a black and white shape swirled through the sky.. It's long body and heavy wings easily identified as a dragon. Alone, though he should not be, Demetrius flew towards the city. He well knew the risks of leaving the saftey of his camp with his rider, for any lone dragon was target to hunters.. The only problem was.. He knew not where his rider had wandered, and he jopd to spot her in the city before he got killed by an over zealous Savior or Hunter. Where could that girl wander off to..? Sticking my neck out like this to find her, she better be doing something important.. He growled inwardly and the air crackled with static.
Suddenly the smell of blood and fire hit his senses, and he looked up with yellow eyes narrowing them to focus on the city ahead, it was in chaos. Humans scattered everywhere some dead, some wounded, and a dead bronze dragon lay in the streets. Saviors were everywhere and he could only hope that one of them would recognize him and tell the others not to attack, he wouldn't harm any of them on purpose but if shot at he wouldn't resist either. He decided that landing and walking into the city might show them that he was not there to harm anyone, meerely looking for something..
His feet touched the ground and the static around him hissed and faded, he folded his wings against his sides and began to walk slowly into the city...
Lisa looked out from the forest towards a small group of people, they were in a small clearing and one of them seemed to be injured. "What do you think Cooper?" she asked, looking up into his face. There'd been the sounds of fighting earlier and she could only guess what had happened. Cooper tilted his head to take a better look at the young woman. "If you want to help them I won't protest, the injured one was tracking a dragon." He told her calmly, it was barely a whisper. Lisa bit her lip unsure of what to do, they'd tried to harm a dragon, but on the other hand if she helped them there was the chance of the hunters being even the slightest more sympathetic towards the dragons. She motioned for her companion to stay hidden and made a little bit of a racket as she came up, not wanting to scare the small group. "Do you guys needs any help?" she asked, she carried her pack in one hand and the other was open to show she meant no harm. Instead of pushing her presence on them she stopped a couple feet away, letting them make their own judgments about her.
Melanie's eyes widened at the sight of the newcomers. A Dragonrider? Holy baloney and spam! This was incredible! The commotion between the injured Hunter and the dragon must have drawn a lot of people to this spot; it was getting pretty crowded in the small clearing. Normally she'd be nervous, as such a large crowd was sure to draw wild dragons, but with an actual Dragonrider here, their chances of survival increased exponentially. Looking sideways at the other two Hunters, she stepped forward toward the newcomers. Before she could say anything, she heard the snapping of twigs to her left, and turned to see a lone girl around her age also step into the area. A Hunter, perhaps? She had a pack of supplies, but seemed to be travelling on foot. My, my, my. This was quite a party.
"Well! We have an injured....friend, here." She glanced at the dragon who appeared distressed as it was. Admitting that they were Hunters would probably not be in their best interests. Of course, the visible weapons probably weren't much of a help. At any rate, they needed to get the girl to a hospital as soon as possible. Although the dragon was small, it was probably their best chance of getting her into the city as safely and swiftly as possible. She spoke quickly, hoping that the other Hunters wouldn't object.
"She needs to get to the city quickly. It's not that far from here, only about three or so miles north. Some of us also need to get moving as soon as possible." Melanie stole a glance at the Hunter who had followed her here. "Would you mind giving her a lift?" She spoke more to the dragon than its Rider.

“You did good,” Blair reassured him, and Justin felt relieved. “If it’s a dragon that did this, they carry nasty bugs in their teeth and claws. The wound needs to be disinfected.” Blair continued, and Justin nodded as if he knew. He was just watching Robin when a low growl erupted from the bushes across the clearing.
The snarls seemed to be aimed towards him, and Justin swallowed nervously. "Oh," Someone popped up beside the dragon. "Hiya." Justin's eyes flicked back and forth from the guy and his dragon. "What did I do?" He said, staring at the distressed dragon.
Then Melanie was speaking. "She needs to get to the city quickly. It's not that far from here, only about three or so miles north. Some of us also need to get moving as soon as possible." Justin nodded and looked at Robin again. "Would you mind giving her a lift?" Melanie seemed to be asking the dragon rather than the Rider.

Recovering himself, Adrien offered a half-smile. "You were just born the wrong gender and are of the wrong age," he offered, reaching out to pat Merc lightly on the neck. "If you were attacked by a certain group of people when you were young, naturally you'd be pretty distressed every time you meet people under that same category when you've grown some. Don't take it to heart."
Glancing at the group and catching sight of all the weaponry, he frowned. That wasn't going to sit well with Merc, he knew for sure. "Better injured than not, if it's a Hunter," he said flatly. If it was an injured Hunter, then the chances of Merc being harmed while in transport decreased, and it would be easier to throw them off with a good zap of electricity. He glanced at Merc, who let out a whoosh of breath before giving a sharp shake of his head.
"If we make it quick and bring the weaponry on a separate trip I suppose I'll bear with it," he said huffily. "Although surely you'd want to ask someone older and bigger?" His tail lashed out as he gestured behind new entrance with the pack. "Isn't it so, Mr. Cooper? If you're with someone the very least you should do is stay in sight so as to keep them out of trouble." He huffed, "This is why humans are silly. You really think you can hide a dragon's scent from another dragon?" He was clearly unimpressed, and adding to the entirety of having his going-home plans altered and meeting an adolescent male, he was more than displeased. Add some fire to the mix and he was going to fry someone, no questions asked. "And why does everyone assume that all dragons carry parasites or the like? I'd like to think that we have better hygiene than the dogs that humans are so fond of keeping."
Adrien smiled apologetically Melanie. "He says snarky things, but I'm sure we can work something out, since the city's so close. It'll probably be distasteful, though. Hunters are one of the three things Merc can't stand." He shrugged lightly, giving Merc a nod, as if something had just conspired between the two. "If you don't do anything stupid I'm sure we'll get along great." As if to exemplify his point, electricity crackled around Merc's jaws for a few seconds before fading away.
Cooper shook himself off, "It was more for the small one's benefit than actually hiding, Mercurial." He said slowly coming out from the trees. He moved sleepily, not really feeling the need to rush to help the injured hunter but willing to help anyways. "I have to agree, some of us actually take pretty good care of ourselves." He added once he stood behind Lisa, raising his upper lip to show off his pearly whites. Ignoring Coopers joke she stood closer to him, "If you guys need help Cooper and I can take you back to the city, but I want a promise from all of you he'll be safe." Lisa said, placing a hand on the dragons long forearm and looking them all in the eye. She didn't trust the hunters or the saviors not to attack them once they finished their errand, especially since she was dwarfed in size compared to Cooper.
ooc| Would it be possible for me to join upon 's that a character of mine would suit this roleplay? Also, it's an amazing idea and I'm annoyed I haven't looked into this before. (:
AI was thinking that my character could be an ex-rider, whose dragon has abandoned her and turned rebellious. Would this be okay? I’ll post my skelly now and if you don’t think that would work I’ll scrap the dragon and just have her being a hunter or civilian.
Name: Nukee Goodyear Age: 20 Gender: Female Species: Human Rank: Hunter of sorts. Ability: Nukee’s ability comes into it’s own at night. She has the strange ability to harness light, either from the sun or artificial lighting. So when it’s dark, she can either send orbs of light in front of her, or keep it within herself and see better at night. The downside is that during the day, she is completely hopeless and no more able than a human without power. When her and Alkaline are closer, the light orbs she creates glow brighter. This is helpful and also a hindrance at the same time. Element: Light Appearance: She’s quite short for her age, about 5’4. Her hair is extremely long, and as such she tends to style it in complicated buns on top of her head to keep it out of the way. It’s a dark blue colour, matching her eyes. In some lights, it made her look quite pretty, despite the odd colouring on top of her head. Pictures here Other Info: She used to be Alkaline’s rider. Their relationship was strong, a bond that they both cherished. Then something in Alkaline changed. His temper got worse; he became frustrated every time Nukee would lose control of her power and the light orbs she sent would fade after a few seconds instead of minutes. This went on for a month or so, until Alkaline seemed to have disappeared. A few days later, and there was news that a dragon had attacked a group of survivors in the night. He had disorientated them with a blast of bright, white light before killing three. Her Dragon had rebelled. She’d been tracking him ever since.
Name: Alkaline. Age: Adult Gender: Male Species: Dragon Rank: N/A Ability: The same as Nukee’s. He can absorb light and release it. Instead of in compact orbs of light, however, Alkaline is less controlled, and so bright it can cause blindness. Element: Light Appearance: He’s a dark blue in colour, with cream swirls on his back. His wings are tipped with a similar pale colour. On the right side of his chest, there is a white symbol - a badge of sorts - embedded in his scales. It glows when Nukee is nearby. Other Info: What made Alkaline betray his rider is a secret he fails to share with anyone. He doesn’t want to kill her as such, but it’s attitude had changed. He now views her as simply another human, not his ex-rider.
Ooc| Gaah, I hope that’s okay. I’ve never roleplayed a dragon before!

- Robin stayed silent as two dragons came into the clearing, both with dragon riders. It was uncommon to come across a dragon rider; let alone two in one day. "Better injured than not, if its a hunter," the smaller dragon huffed. Robin scowled, shaking her head. All she wanted, really, was a ride to the city so she could get patched up and then continue hunting Ladon. She glanced at Justin, wondering if he was going back to the city as well, since he was a savior. Maybe he was patrolling the forest, she thought, looking away.
ooc: Sorry for the super crappy post, I don't really know whats going on +__+ - I'm glad you decided to check this out! (:
The large blue dragon shook his head. "I doubt that a senseless dragon would be able to..." Everest shrugged again. "And, humans couldn't possibly reek as much as our own droppings," he joked, staring down at the land far below them.
Then, sensing the serious note in Sora's voice (for once), he swung his head towards her, nearly hitting hers, but she twirled away into the air, cackling something about her being crazy. "You definitely are crazy," he said, "but that roar wasn't something to be ignored." His neutral expression didn't change as he fixed his gaze on the other dragon. "I don't know who that was, but we need to keep our guard up and stay conscious, okay?"
Cardine wondered if the dragon would turn around and charge back towards them, and then when she heard the shot, watched with her mouth slightly ajar. It all went by so fast, even with her extremely sharp senses. The female Savior stared at the fallen dragon for a moment. She wasn't too particularly fond of killing dragons (or anything at all), even if they caused so much destruction.
Hearing James's voice, she looked up at him, catching sight of his hand still gripping the gun tightly. How he fired, and how he looked as if he could continue was so....She couldn't place the right word for it. Cardine felt a pang of sadness for the fellow Savior. She wondered what had caused him to chase after the dragon so furiously in the first place, but didn't ask because the look on his face and his actions. He probably didn't want her to ask him anything, let alone talk to him. But, despite that, she wanted to keep him company, to let him know that he would never be alone. Saviors stuck together, didn't they?
"I want to come with you, but if you don't want me there I'll leave." Cardine closed her eyes briefly. "I know that you need some time alone, but I don't want to risk the chance of anything happening to you while you grieve." Opening her blue eyes, she held James's gaze. "I know it sounds intrusive, but...it's like a gut thing, you know? I feel like I have to stay with you, though I'm not sure why."
"Zam!" A voice behind her snapped, jerking her out of her reverie. Zam turned to see the man who had taken charge of the field hospital, a stout man with a shock of red hair. "You're no use here if you're going to spend your time daydreaming," he continued. "You're better off somewhere else. Go report to James and see if he wants you for a patrol or something."
"But--" Zam protested. "I'm sorry, sir, but--you need me here--"
"No, we don't, Zam," the man replied. "There are plenty of Saviors here with more extensive medical training than you have. Used to be that your gift made you a crucial part of our work--but, well, those days are gone. As you are, you're better at shooting than healing anyway," he said, not unkindly. He kept his tone light to lessen the sting of his words, with a regretful half-smile on his face. "Now run along before you hurt someone."
Zam opened her mouth, but closed it again without saying a word. She swallowed hard, nodded, and turned on her heel, marching toward the corner of the plaza where her hoverboard rested against an old stone column. Hopping onto the board, she cruised toward the spot where James stood. As Zam approached, she recognized James' companion--Cardine, was that her name? Her face was familiar, but Zam had never spoken with her in person.
She stopped in front of the pair of Saviors and dismounted. "Hello there," she said, with a respectful nod in James' direction and a brief smile toward Cardine. "Are there any patrols being organized? For all we know, there could be more dragons on the way."
Blair's headache had returned in full force. Standing in the clearing alongside more people than she'd usually see in an entire month, she felt entirely out of her element and strangely exposed. It was most likely due to the presence of the two dragons. The fact that they were tame was hardly a comfort: she had been hunting long enough that her body recognized them as an enemy, and she itched to have her collapsible crossbow in hand. Blair suppressed the urge, as she had no desire to die today.
Instead she found her roll of gauze and cut a piece off with her multi-tool and folded it into a thick square pad, dabbing it liberally with antiseptic. "This'll sting," she warned the girl before pressing the pad against her wound with one hand and securing it in place with more gauze. "Try to keep it elevated," Blair continued vaguely, contemplating her next move.
[flower=maknae]
- Robin watched Blair as she folded gauze, dabbing it with anesthetic. "This'll sting," she said, pressing it against the wound. Robin cringed, clenching her hand into a fist and looking away. "Try to keep it elevated," Blair said. She nodded, raising her arm slightly, trying to keep it from shaking. She gritted her teeth, forcing herself not to cry; she didn't want to look weak, especially not in front of the dragons.
ooc; Sorry for the shortness :B
